As mentioned, living in the RV until water, sewerage and shelter were established on the site would have made the most sense and would have been the most comfortable. There's no way they'd be roughing it if living in the RV was an option. That said, you can often pick up beat up old campers and caravans cheap - they don't need to be roadworthy if you're using them for onsite accommodation. That would still be a better option for living quarters than the container and they could use the container as a workshop/storage space until they had the funds for the Quonset (which will be the 12th of Never at this rate).

Yeah, there’s a shitload if cheap old RVs in California. Even broken ones are easy to fix, they almost all have old school carbureted V8’s that even a high school kid could learn how to fix after watching a couple YouTube videos. This isn't the article I read on the terlet originally, however there is a village somewhere like a resort or commune that uses methane-gas to power generators. All of the huts had "semi dry plumbing" that went to several of these devices.

The methane is lifted from the wastes , human and otherwise and collected via this system. I'm unsure/cannot quote the loss in fidelity but there's something there, something where you're not wasting the waste. They run methane powered genny's and use the remainder on their gardening needs. Anyone can build one, doesn't need to be fanciful and footloose.

Kiwi Farms should fundraise and buy the adjacent lot to Troontown.
