Bob thinks he is a superhero.

He's consumed so much Marvel media it has warped his mind into thinking he is an infallible good guy superhero. This is why he gets upset over morally gray stories, especially in superhero movies. Because if a superhero can do bad things he might have to confront the fact that he himself is a terrible person. It makes too much sense. What an autist.

Kiwifarms had this conversation when Nash "Hand My Cheating Girlfriend My House and Cash" Bozard railed against coalminers a couple months ago. It basically boiled down to anti-coal people being idiots because there is no fossil-fuel-less way to maintain their cushy, basement dwelling lifestyle, (and solar and wind power don't yet have the technology to take up the slack.)

Bob and Nash would be perfectly fine with coal if it came from some horrific third world mine where safety standards basically boil down to a candle helmet and a canary in a cage. It's the fact that the coal industry is providing jobs for Redneck Q. Trumpvoter that's really sticking in their collective craws.

Of course. Bob has never once, in his life, wanted. He's never been remotely hungry, or wondered if he's gonna not have a roof over his head. I've never read his book, but I can tell you that anyone who has ever been through that, just would have some sympathy. Some fucking empathy.
