I wonder if it's even occurred to Russ to get an actual agent like every other writer does. Someone with ACTUAL connections to the "biz" instead of connections that only exist in Russell's head. He should at least give that a try because he sure sucks at being his own agent (even worse than he sucks at being his own lawyer).

Something I've noticed, the more a person says they're not defined, or hindered, by their disability, the more they actually are. I wish I could find the notebook, where I explored this, but the central idea is that the more a person ruminates on their condition, the more confined their practical abilities and problem solving becomes. Russ is so consumed with his disability (more on that in a second), that it infests everything he does. At some point, you can't grow beyond it, because you've talked yourself into this miserablism that everything outside of your physical state withers and dies.

Also, while Russ is, in a literal sense, disabled, it barely fucking counts. I'm on the severe end of physical conditions and I still thank my lucky star I don't have some of the truly frightening conditions out there, and that's before you get to mental disabilities. That being said, I would kill for Russ' shitty body. I'd love to talk privilege with him, because he can't see how privileged he actually is.

Russ doesn't give a goddamn about 'privilege.' He wants pity, and pity is the slow death for a person with a disability.

In his long screed about disability-it’s all, “I” this, “I” that. “I have to work harder, I am scrutinized,” etc.

Until he gets to the part where he needs an example of a disabled guy doing something wrong-like showing up late to work. Than it’s suddenly “he.” “He can’t show up an hour late.”

He cannot admit he does anything wrong, even to prove his own point, so he changes his writing from first person to distance himself.

It’s interesting, you hear guys in prison do that too. Even when they are supposedly admitting their crimes, giving details in first person up to the moment of murder, they’ll suddenly say stuff like “he got himself killed” rather than “I killed him.” They are distancing themselves from their crime.

These two posts are a beautiful example of Russ’s pathology, we are so lucky to get to follow him. :)

People with disabilities work around not being able to 'convey [their] talents' - that's where the heroism of prevailing despite your disability comes from. They don't do it by demanding only select young, attractive famous women do their bidding (and hopefully fall in love with them). The latter is blackmail.

Russ can walk, see, hear, go out and do almost everything a non-disabled person can do. He bemoans how awful it is to walk into a store and have people stare, forgetting that there are more than just a few people who can't walk into a store or even up to their own front door. Apart from sounding a bit strange and struggling with eating, he has very few issues. No-one owes him a damn thing because he can't smile. And it's not about the music, because if it was he'd be perfectly capable of perfecting it himself save for the vocals. Russ just wants to bang a celebrity, and being a 'disabled songwriter' is the ticket he thinks will win him some Hollywood skirt. What a pathetic, shitty excuse. If a frozen face should get you a date with Taylor Swift, someone like Kylie Brooks (https://kiwifarms.net/threads/kyle-anthony-kylie-cassandra-jesse-brooks.10316/) should be getting free sex-on-demand from Little Mix, the Pussycat Dolls and all their backing dancers too. Best up your game, Russ.

It's been said here before, but the way Russ discusses his disability and what he's owed as a result, is inseparable from his malignant narcissism.

It's hard to apply conventional thinking about disability to his case but IMHO the vast majority of disabled people, though they certainly run the spectrum from stoic warrior to complete mess, go to great lengths not to constantly bring up their disability as a reason they are owed things. This has a lot to do with the desire to keep up a "cloak of competence" (that's drawn from an amazing book on how people deal with intellectual impairment).

People with lifelong disabilities might cite disability-related impairments as a reason for accommodations, or their own competence and courage as a reason to be recognized, but Russ is demanding SPECIFIC things, which he feels owed, as a result of his disability.

Someone feel free to correct me, but this behavior seems so influenced by narcissism that it's difficult to use any other approach to understanding disability as a means for understanding Russ.

Has anyone else ever typed "moebius syndrome" into google image search? Turns out it has it's own particular "look" that is universally recognizable just like downs syndrome. Not just the mouth, but the shape and spacing of the eyes, etc. Looking at all these people, I couldn't help but feel bad for them that they all have to share facial features with Russell Greer. :(

Id agree. The same goed for all the tumblr and the tumblr kind blogposting about an (mostly self diagnosed) mental condition. If one has a real case of clinical depression or any other conditions they will not say so or talk about it to anyone unless they ask directly for that or they feel obliged to talk about it to intimate family. I have observed this phenomena partly because I have meet many people that have a real mental illness and I have encountered on unfortunately numerous occassions those who dont really have them but act like it, asking the right questions armed with the proper knowledge eventually makes this obvious. Its a pity that things are this way cause people with actual mental conditions get taken a lot less seriously because of the imposters.

He's halfway on that session and burns 117 calories. Yeah, 230 calories in a session isn't much, Russ. In fact, it's below par.

That's barely over burning a single can of Coke. Russ is a fag.

Agents have standards. They're not going to represent someone who will drag down their own reputation. You do not want to be an agent for a fucking lunatic idiot.

Our beloved cow was manic and posting all day on Wednesday, January 24th...6x to be exact (alarm clock, song link, TEDTalk, Taco Bell, jeans/pants planet fitness, being wronged quote...listed them for when he deletes).

Wednesday, January 24th was World Moebius Syndrome Day. Being the caring, dedicated and kind advocate he is, it’s SHOCKING he didn’t mention this important date in any of his 6 posts.

The Moebius Syndrome Community is fortunate to have Russ on their side.

Side note...I spent about an hour looking at various Moebius Syndrome Facebook pages. There are some fucking inspiring people out there. Wish them nothing but the best and I hope all their dreams come true because THEY deserve it. Strokey, not so much.

Can’t wait for the inevitable melt down when Shitlips finds out Katy Perry was making out with someone whose mouth can move.

I think the guy he's tagged is one of the family members SO desperate for him to make the story into a film .... even though the dude has already written a fairly well received book about the story lol

Sounds to me like he met the family, heard about the book, said that he would write the movie and they patted him on the head and sad "aww, thank you hon, you really shouldn't." You know, like you do to people that mean well but you don't want to hurt their feelings. And yeah, Russ really shouldn't have.

Richard Rashke is already an author who wrote Escape from Sobibor, a movie starring Rutger Hauer, and also wrote about Karen Silkwood, which was a movie about a famous activist. He also wrote a play about a woman in the Holocaust. I doubt Russ ever met him.

Russ just figured they were compadres in writing and this guy would get him published.
