Invasion Day activist criticised after controversial remarks
A PROTEST group has posted an incendiary statement following a controversial speech from one of its organisers last week.

PROTEST group Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance (WAR) has released an expletive laden statement after backlash to comments from one of its members on Australia Day.

Tarneen Onus-Williams told a crowd of thousands “F**k Australia, hope it burns to the ground” during an Invasion Day rally in Melbourne on Friday.

The 24-year-old also told the crowd she wanted Australia Day abolished instead of the date being changed.

“All you fellas in your Australian flags should be ashamed of yourselves,” she added.

There were calls for the WAR organiser to be removed from her role with a government-funded body following the comments.

Today, WAR, a group with more than 21,000 followers on Facebook has released a strongly worded statement in response to the criticism.

“WAR will not rest until we burn this entire rotten settler colony called Australia, illegally and violently imposed on stolen Aboriginal land at the expense of the blood of countless thousands, to the f***ing ground, until every corrupt and illegal institution of white supremacist, patriarchal, capitalist settler colonial power forced upon us is no more,” it read.

Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett told The Australian that Ms Onus-Williams, should step down as an executive member of Victoria’s Koorie Youth Council (KYC) for a series of angry, divisive comments.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate that she continues to serve on the council,” Mr Kennett said.

“This is something that’s meant to advance the understanding and appreciation of all things indigenous and in saying what she has, she’s shown that she’s totally incompatible with that. I think it’s a case of ‘thank you, but goodbye,’” he said.

KYC released a statement yesterday saying Ms Onus-Williams is a “volunteer youth member” with the organisation.

“Ms Onus-Williams’s role in Friday’s rally is separate to her volunteering at KYC,” the statement read.

“As on organisation, KYC does not share her stance.”

Ms Onus-Williams told Fairfax Media late last week: “It was a strong statement, but I am not going to apologise for it.

“It was a metaphor, not actually a statement to be taken literally,” she added.

“I just want everything, all the governments to fall apart, because our people are dying and nobody cares and the whole system needs to change.

“The leaders of this country continue to ignore and oppress us. I am sick of our people getting locked up and dying in custody, of our young people suiciding.

“I don’t have all the answers of what is going to liberate us. I just know the current system isn’t working. Since colonisation nothing has worked for blackfellas on this land.”

“Sometimes, when you’re a bit poetic, things get taken out of context,” she added on Twitter.

However, indigenous leader and former ALP president Warren Mundine has also put pressure on Ms Onus-Williams after her remarks.

Mr Mundine said she was a hypocrite and a “hater” for working with the government on state-funded programs while openly attacking the government and causing division in other forums.

I don't get the enormously angry response to Tarneen Onus-Williams's speech at the Invasion Day rally. It's not like she burnt a flag (which would be justifiable). I think Aboriginal people display an amazing amount of restraint.

I am furious and ashamed at how people have targeted @Tarneen and the Koori Youth Council. This is modern day colonisation. When people threaten and try to silence strong black voices by vandalising centres and threatening women— what else could it be called.

“The serious question here is why is the government funding these groups and these organisations when the people involved are haters who have no scruples about taking taxpayers’ money and then spitting in their faces,” Mr Mundine told The Australian.

“And governments only have themselves to blame for wasting taxpayers’ money, because there’s no real rigour in appointments and no questions about where this money is going. And then you see money going into causes and demonstrations where people are racially abusing and threatening people — it has to change.”

Just an FYI https://t.co/nnyPsrK0s1

A sad sad day indeed Waren Mundine attacks the Koorie Youth Council and call for it to be defunded. This country has the highest indigenous youth suicide in the world and your bagging out our youth. Because they voice their opinions in the week of Mourning. Wow no words.

Criticising young Aboriginal women trying to have a voice is the last thing senior Aboriginal men should be doing. Instead we should be strongly backing Aboriginal women to be front and centre of our struggle.

However, some on social media came to the defence of Ms Onus-Williams.

“I am furious and ashamed at how people have targeted @Tarneen and the Koori Youth Council. This is modern day colonisation,” wrote one commentator. “When people threaten and try to silence strong black voices by vandalising centres and threatening women — what else could it be called.”

News.com.au tried to contact Ms Onus-Williams via the Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance. However, the organisation refused to comment on the criticism.

Another angry halfcaste, robbing the welfare system with her "abo" status, getting free education, free medical, grants, funding, free housing.

She seems to believe that Whitey should just hand over Australia to her and her kin, so they can run the country. Like most Abos with handouts, she'd spend it on a case of XXXX, some flyspray and a carton of the cheapest durrys around. $1.1 Trillion is a lot of beer, smokes and flyspray.

Wasn't there a case in Australia where some guy got classified as an Abo because he felt like he was culturally an Abo or something and the government actually believed it?

That's how it works. Aboriginal cultures consider parenting to be a communal effort, so there's a lot of importance placed on kinship and very little on the nuclear family. If you're raised by aborigines, you're considered an aborigine. I think that's not a bad way of doing it, tbh. No matter what your opinion is on social welfare or affirmative action, I think everyone can agree that if a government is going to issue out welfare programs to disadvantaged groups, they should worry less about skin colour and more about whether or not the person in question was raised as a stone-age desert savage speaking a prehistoric language in a tin shed surrounded by feral dogs and hitting other kids with a boomerang for their petrol sniffy cans. It's a better system than the American way of favouring rich darkies over inbred Appalachian mountain folk from the deep dark depths of Deliverance Holler.

Interesting how the average Aboriginal in Australia appears to be at minimum 7/8 white.

Aboriginal genetic markers are highly recessive against white, while negroid genetic markers are highly dominant, so what looks like "mostly white with a little bit of black" to American eyes is very probably "mostly black with a little bit of white".

Theres a town called Wilcannia in New south wales that has 75 percent of its population aboriginals, that usually tops lists such as worst town in Straya, it's apparently so bad, that theres bars on the windows of most of the houses and i've heard the best advice for exploring it is parking at the coppers station.

It's a pretty bad place but it's not the worst. It's not a place you could "explore" though, or at least it wasn't back in my day. It was a place to detour around if you could help it, and if not then drive through at 120km/hr while steadily firing shots out your window to keep the niggers behind cover instead of chucking bricks at your car.

Maybe it's improved since then but I honestly doubt it.

They should ask Zimbabwe how kicking out the people who print their money worked.... spoiler, despite assurances that a white-free country would rise to Marvel's Wakanda-level superscience overnight? Weit was not.....

But Australian Aboriginals are Australoids, the racial traits of which are also found in certain Dravidian groups in India (Tamils etc.) and other Asians like the Ainu, and also certain Native American groups from California to Tierra de Fuego. Looking at mixed-race Aboriginals, a half-white half-Aboriginal (or half Asian half Aboriginal) seems to have very pale skin compared to a half African half white. We know the Australoids were among the first to leave Africa, according to current theories. And the historic Australian Aboriginals are very interesting as a Stone Age society (who strangely mostly spoke vaguely related languages, see the Pama-Nyungan languages) which more modern societies got to meet and encounter.

This is a from a culture that fucked over its own eco-system, was famous for living like cavemen before being colonised, wiped out animal species practically for fun and is now infamous for sleeping on roads.

I guess irony comes in many languages

I’ll give them credit where it’s due since they managed to wipe out the only animal that actively hunted them.

Colonization only works only if you eliminate all of the original dwellers that do not integrate in the new society, otherwise they will bear a grudge that will simmer for generations and will strike when they get their hands on some power.

Every colonization attempt that didn't found itself bit in the ass eventually.

Refusal to integrate should be considered treason/terrorism!

Looks like the average mixed-race kid who identifies with their less priviledged heredity for oppression points

Thought that if the image became grainy and blurry it would look like those Bigfoot photos, instead it looks like Leatherface...

Thier whole culture is about oppressing change, didn't you guys know that? A hella lot of legends and stories they write are about innovative people getting their shit kicked in because the spirits would punish them for not doing the same thing theyve done for 60k years, even if it was better

It is literally their culture to be unprogressive. They will gatekeep their own knowledge culture to their people because they think everyone is unworthy of it, like how the fuck are they going to expand if they give their knowledge and legends to a select few?
In some ways abo culture is extremely progressive, I have seen a young abo man transfer petrol into a coke can and sniff it. Other races would have just used the petrol to put in a car, but the proud noongar man knew the mystical properties of the coke can and it link to dream time.

To be fair, their society's embrace of the status quo was because they lived in, quite literally, one of the most brutally harsh environments on Earth where fucking around at any point could very easily lead to you getting killed by the mammals, birds, reptiles, arthropods, plants, freak weather events, or the heat. Aboriginals are hyper-conservative because 99.9% of the time, doing things differently kills the innovator in Australia. Invention is a luxury afforded by an environment that isn't constantly trying to murder you; see the Inuits.

You just need to look at abo-infested areas to know what Australia would look like without whites. Abos never mastered "putting one rock on top of another" in their entire 60-thousand year (or whatever it was) history. They should be ashamed of themselves that we thought it was "Terra Nullius" i.e. unoccupied land when arriving because land occupied solely by mindless, savage beasts was indistinguishable from land occupied by these alleged hominids.
You try living in the Outback for a week and tell me how much free time you have to invent agriculture.

True. That's why in many ways Spain and Portugal did colonization best, especially in the Americas. Kill all the men (or work them to death for all that sweet gold and silver) and take all the women as your wives and spawn all sorts of new races like Latinos and Mulattos and Filipinos (yay for diversity!). Not many natives left, although there is that cocaine addicted Injun who is president of Bolivia (shithole).

You try living in the Outback for a week and tell me how much free time you have to invent agriculture.

They got dealt one of the shittiest hands possible thanks to geography, hence why they were stuck in the Stone Age when even Native Americans invented agriculture and built shit like Cahokia. And unlike places that had shitty geography like most of Europe, the only neighbor they could leach innovations off of were the New Guineans.

The south eastern parts of Australia are actually pretty good for inventing agriculture, they are nowhere near as hot and unforgiving as the outback (you can actually find forests in that part)

They should be thanking the British for dragging them from the Stone Age to the Industrial Age in a few decades. If it weren't for the British (or other Europeans) colonizing Australia, we'd be treating the Aboriginals as zoo animals nowadays, the same way we treat those tribes in the remote Amazon or New Guinea. It's really sad "indigenous people", be they Native Americans or Australian Aboriginals or whatever, have been given all these chances to succeed in normal society thanks to so much affirmative action and free shit but instead most of them would rather sit back and get smashed all day and aspire to nothing more than committing crime and taking over their village (look at that one town in the NT with the heavy metal-themed Aboriginal gangs).
It makes me wonder why so many don't take advantage of these benefits instead of feeling sorry for themselves. I get theywere delt a hard blow in the past and there's nothing wrong with accepting positive help.

LOL, no. Unless you're Prince Harry's niggerbitch, who's had more plastic surgery than Michael Jackson.

It's just the middle part and the west that are barren uninhabitable shitholes.

Queensland has rainforests and all. Besides, the abbos would have needed better weapons just to defend themselves against wild animals.

Rainforests can be just as hateful as desert; sometimes, more so. For example: Australia has five different species of Stinging Tree (think nettles, but massive and much worse), the worst of which, Gympie-Gympie, has a sting that can literally last for years. It's other common name is "suicide tree", as its sting is so painful people have been known to kill themselves just to make it stop.
Also, rainforests are very hostile to agriculture, which is the cornerstone of civilization: if you can't do agriculture, you aren't going to build permanent dwellings or start focusing on metallurgy. The Indian tribes in America that built earthworks and massive wooden cities all had agriculture as well as hunting.

If they had another few thousand years they might've gotten that far, since Victoria had some Aboriginals which lived in stone villages and had a basic system for farming eels (the greatest Aboriginal architectural achievement?). Unfortunately they were a bit late to the game.

The Amazon rainforest had tons of agriculture and even vast cities, it's just they were all made of wood and rotted away over the years.
