Jeez, that came out of nowhere...guess this'll be added to his routine, every time he recounts his misfortunes.

It's funny how his situations continually get waaayyy worse AFTER they've ended.

Next he'll be telling us how that tax accountant was always just a detractor, biding his time until he could try to ruin him.

Phil's historical revisionism efforts involve direct lies less often than employment of MASSIVE changes in emphasis, bringing up things that logically he would have every incentive to have brought up at the time. Think of the AXE body spray review supposedly being the thing that got him kicked off Google AdSense. The upload date of the video means it could have been! But he says it was now, because he needs to hype a dumb rehash video.

He said once or twice that he's gotten dog shit in his mailbox or whatever. Truly a graphic, over-the-top thing to do to someone. Did it happen? We can't verify. But you didn't hear that mentioned in Phil's swatting response video. We never hear about it now. Speaking of swatting, he has flipflopped on the presence and prominence of weapons in the hands of cops, and whether they were pointed at him.

1. Ask the King April 2015. Self-explanatory title. Seeing Phil's version of a then-private convo compared to the master recording is a good benchmark for judging his willingness to stretch the truth.

Pretty much. If Phil is the only one in control of the truth, you can expect it to be mangled or manipulated.

:powerlevel:

I understand it looks like pretty slimy fuckin self-promotion to quote my own posts, but I feel this does a good job of connecting ideas, situations, and posts in this megathread and the subforum. It's like the Fred Fuchs meme with the huge bulletin board of imagined enemies. Plus, why bother typing something twice?

dsp says in this video that he has every video he's ever uploaded on an external hard drive
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aoL2r3v908
thats a lot of videos, maybe this is where all his money is going

:powerlevel:Videos I make are around 300 - 800MB in size per vid.:powerlevel:

300mb x 50,000 = 15TB
800mb x 50,000 = 40TB

Its possible his filesizes are larger as well since he autistically insists on 1080p/60fps (yes even when games dont run at 60fps) and an over 9000 bitrate.

To piggyback off of this... The most use that one would get if they were to archive his entire catalog of schlock is pretty much the audio (his spinning of tales and misrepresenting of facts) is the most important part of any upload. So, if someone WERE to have enough :autism: to undertake such a task, it wouldn't be a huge deal to sacrifice video kwahlity for audio khlarity.

Used to. From the first capture card videos to the Twitch return. Phil only returned to twitch.tv in 2016 on the condition that his bitrate/resolution/framerate autism would finally be accommodated.

Not long after, however, he ran into difficulties getting OBS to carry out the dual recording/capture settings. Phil's "principles" had to be shelved very quickly, and very quietly, since Phil had by now seen dollar signs from donations.

So Phil stopped gameplay on the stream for a solid 10 minutes to basically just blast Howard and John. The stream mods, rachetfan and Kekon mainly, were begging him to stop and even timing out people who were cheering with any questions that could encourage Phil to continue (I guess not realizing that Phil still sees the cheers). Midway though, Phil paused and announced that he was banning people in chat who were 'trolling', which of course just meant questioning his story.

Wait... no... I must have made that last part up because Phil said that he never bans people because he's playing a game...
He must have been yelling 'You're BANNED' about something else, surely.

Very large (don't quote me on this calculated number) because Phil edits nothing. So there is the possibility he uploads uncompressed files. There is a small chance he compresses files for himself with some tool but I really doubt it.

I would guess he does it because AVGN does it too. The differences are: James has not a shit ton of gargantuan sized videos and doesn't upload a new bunch every single day, so managing his storage should be easy. Also James needs some of his his older files for future episodes. As a reviewer it makes sense. Or maybe even as an artist, I give him that.
(edit: He also stores his raw footage for future use which makes sense)

But then there is Phil. You know Phil. Case closed.

Phil would start trying to justify his employees paying him for the privilege of working for him.
That's already how his Twitch chat works. They should pay him for the privilege of telling him how to play a video game because he's too lazy to even do that.

James is a filmmaker first and foremost, so I see his video archives as an equivalent to his Nerd game room. On the other hand, it's not like Phil needs those clips for editing purposes or anything else that may be useful. More like he gets to point at some hard drives and say that's his ten year legacy.

What I wonder is why he archives everything. If his channels were to disappear tomorrow, does he just start uploading everything again until it's all back up? Does YouTube have a maximum daily upload? I guess we'd find out.

He can't be smart enough to keep two copies either so if he has a hard drive die or they get damaged, he's fucked.

James Rolfe's archive is reasonable. The man could have 2000 episodes of AVGN and it wouldn't even come close to the amount videos DSP has in his archive.

I somehow doubt that Phil has archived anything. I mean, he is not exactly known to think ahead. Why do you think he's re-doing playthroughs that have been taken down?

Yes, im pretty sure thats not true either. 50.000 videos... archived on harddrives? I think he is lying, big time. Plus he is too lazy.

So what are the odds Phil ever tells Howard and John this over a podcast or anything ? I doubt he does.
All he had to do was actually pay them all and the series could have kept going.
To be honest if John and Howard are dumb enough to pour hours of work into Project 7 without getting paid they kind of needed this harsh lesson in the media / video production industry.

So imho John and Howard and co are just as dumb as Phil, maybe even dumber since they were working for the idiot...for free..

They were all small fish at the time. It hit Howard when he saw the BMW... But let the podcast tell the story.

Yes DSP is a Jew. But he is also a shitty person. The podcast (Rambo & Howard) says much more than he didn't pay P7. DSP is a scumbag. Period. His best friend gave him multiple chances and he Fucked it up.

Yeah they didn't realize that there was that much money coming in. I also remember in the podcast that they told Phil to pay the guys who did the editing and he wouldn't.

I think its why his attempt at doing a new Project 7 failed. He blamed the camera issue but none of the guys wanted to work with him again.
