That's true. As for Lupa, I followed her for a while because I enjoyed her Movie Night videos. But wow, she got really whiny.
Honestly, I've had a hard time trying to enjoy Movie Nights. I feel like much of Lupa's recent content has become too many layers deep inside her own special interests, and there's only so much Baywatch and Quantum Leap-adjacent content I can handle when I don't care about either of those things. Plus she's fallen into the same sort of "let's do a wacky/ironic voice while pointing out cheesy shit" schtick that's always annoyed me about Phelous's work. But maybe I'm just bitter because I know she'll never do a video as good as the Charmed retrospectives again.

At least, unlike Phelous, you never had to stick your phallus in that.
I can hardly imagine Phelous ever sticking his phallus (lol) in her. They don't seem to be a particularly affectionate couple, and Lupa especially gives off the vibes of someone who doesn't enjoy sex and who mocks over-the-top 'sexiness' because she can't relate to it.

I'm still annoyed that she did all these Mary Kate and Ashley films and still hasn't done It Takes Two aka their cheesiest movie.

That's my problem with Movie Nights. She talks about shows I don't watch and movies I don't care about but every once in a while she does something I like. Her videos with Brad Jones are way better.

I could never get into her Movie Nights reviews because the early ones (I only watched a few of them) just seemed like unscripted rambling. Its very hard to do stream of conscience rambling well, and even harder when you're alone. At least Red Letter Media has four people who can bounce off each other.

To be fair, Brad makes most videos better though. I think his strength in crossovers specifically is that his sense of humor and delivery are versatile enough for him to balance out the vibes of nearly anybody he collabs with, and his breadth of film knowledge/references to draw from is expansive enough that he's still engaging and informative even when he's not funny.

The other thing is Brad's voice. His voice sounds a hell of a lot more pleasant than most of Channel Awesome. He's got a great radio voice, which is in stark contrast to Doug and Linkara's grating voices.

She just isn't that funny.

I thought they hated him because of "when does a joke go too far" video.
By the way, I'm currently watching some things that Malcolm has voiced outside of Channel Awesome and he's actually funnier on his own. I'll have to blame his work on CA on Doug's bad writing.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous now. I'm supposed to believe that Tamara never saw Robin Hood: Men In Tights? It's a harmless cheesy comedy. Was she raised in an Amish family or some overly fundie religious family cult that didn't allow television or movies?

Was she a Jehovah's Witness or something?
Either that or her parents just made her sit in the corner and do nothing, with a dog bowl they'd fill once a day with either food or water for nuorishment.

Honestly, I'd love to know what the real reason was. She comes off as someone who never watched anything until she left her parents' house.

I mean she wasn't even allowed to watch children's shows like Pokemon and Digimon, so make of that what you will...

In her defense, the 90s saw the rise of the TV rating system in the states. And overprotective parenting. People started to associate violence in real life with violence in TV and music and video games. A lot of shows for kids were accused of being violent. And also Pokémon had the seizure controversy going on.

I had cousins who weren’t allowed to watch half of the stuff on Cartoon Network because it was Y7 and they hadn’t turned 7 yet.
