I'm more annoyed by the whole "Indian Harry Potter" thing, because as one tumblr user put it (an Indian girl, I believe), people in their quest to be all inclusive are ignoring Indian culture -- they're only changing his skin color, and not realizing that it would change a lot of his experiences growing up. It would also have affected his father's experiences and personality as a minority as well, at least among muggle borns.

Cults like to ensure that they use contradictory principles and rules fairly frequently. When people admit to feeling distress over cognitive dissonance or can no longer hold the doublethink in their heads, you know they're insufficiently brainwashed. It's a good way to select only for the most credulous believers, who have to demonstrate continuously that the contradictory nature of their beliefs doesn't bother them and that they understand how to apply contradictory rules to situations in order to generate the outcome desired by the cult leaders.

I've been thinking a little bit about the autism storm surrounding Black Panther, and I just realized something sort of funny. The nation of Wakanda is staunchly isolationist (maybe even xenophobic, given how much they don't like outsiders), refuses to help the world or its neighboring countries, and has the most technologically advanced military on Earth.
Those sort of things are what the far left think of when they imagine the alt-right, which means that their infatuation with Black Panther is incredibly superficial, and might even make them hypocritical if skin color is enough for them to be fine with those things.

Anything is acceptable if the right, er left, group is doing it. Wakanda is a Safe Space writ large. And as we all know safe spaces are things oppressed people must have. Because they need safety and space. Excluding people for those particular prejudicial and bigoted reasons are A-OK. It's totally not an attempt to break off and isolate a part of society so that they can create their own little fiefdoms where societies laws and rules do not apply. Because, as we all know, society and rules and laws and shit are all oppressive.
If anything, the fact that many real Twitter users lined up to smack this dumb bitch on the mouth for her whining makes this whole deal even funnier. Reality > fiction in this case!
