SJW's find out that the lead artist of a new LGBT+-themed fantasy game, The Arcana, made art for ships they consider "problematic". Their reaction is to bully the artist until she locks her Twitter and then make a dumb call-out post, telling people to stop supporting the game because "WAAAAAAAAAAAA PROBLEMATIC, WAAAAAAAAAA THEY'RE NOT FIRING THE ARTIST, WAAAAAA THE ARTIST TOLD US OFF, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!".

This is shaping up to be Dream Daddy wank 2.0, IMO. I bet these same spoiled brats would pirate the game instead of buying it anyway.

They should just cancel the game and take the perverts out of it and make it pure cishet content.

Here's a better look at the problem of too many white people in medieval Europe, and the modern-day historians who seek to confront that fascist fantasy.

Out of curiosity how many SJW's have a major in history? If you're gonna talk about history shouldn't you be at least somewhat qualified in the field?
Trust me on this- they'll make up some bullshit about how history is written by cishet shitlords that don't account for minority voices. And then they'll tell you what really happened (spoiler: White cishet men are always bad) despite having no sources any more reliable than those they're refuting.

History, as with most of the softer sciences, has been infected with this shit for a while. Plus in order to get a history PhD, you have to come up with a thesis somehow, and unless you’re an archaeology major who discovers something new, the main thing to do is look at some point in history through a bizarre lense. It’s why for a while history majors were pumping out the “everybody ever mentioned in history ever is gay, even if they had a wife and thirteen known mistresses.” Eventually that petered off into a joke, and this will too.

Not being a gamer, don't most games like this let people make custome content? So wouldn't it be possible that somewhere down the line someone could create a way to play as a black individual?
Yes. Actually if you don't even care about facial structure you can just find the file for the main character's skin and just change the color manually with zero effort.

In case you didn't know, this isn't the first time this game has gotten negative attention for being historically accurate. The resulting Twitter fallout was actually, surprisingly, pretty entertaining.

Perhaps the greatest irony of this all is that through creating this huge fuss over something as insubstantial as the historical accuracy of white people being in Europe and the fantastic response the company had to said fuss, the game is getting a ton of positive publicity by people who are sick of this apologetic tiptoeing. It wouldn't be the first time this sort of thing happened, too.

So basically its a ship where its debatable that the main character is related to the supporting characters but the person who has a beef with them thinks they are siblings, its incest?

And that email to the studio was cringey as fuck. The entire 'won't someone think of the children' aspect and histrionic warbling about incest being abusive is just exceptional. I wouldn't respond either if I was that dev. Don't engage crazy. But this crazy bitch is probably going to try to peddle this story to Kotaku and Polygon for sure. I can feel it.

And later these same crazy bitches whine because they don't get their precious ~representation~. After bullying, heckling and harassing people willing to take risks and go for it because "YOU SHIP WHAT I DON'T! EW, EW EWWWW"

I love how sjws never apply this logic to the native peoples of the americas or any other colonized country.

Sjw PhD's in history say bullshit without evidence and use nothing but their credentials to back them up. Kinda why you see so much BS floating around. You see it especially with things like the BBC, CBC and PBS.

I wonder if there should be a thread on this or not.

The correct responds would be "We will remove bot spam." But they fucked up.

Also, who gives a shit? It's like ghost busters, you can't mask it if it bombs with audiences. If the movie is great, a small minority voting it down because of racism or whatever wouldn't be noticeable. Let the quality speak for itself, RT.

A lot of the SJWs in these twitter pics have a major in revisionism, I can see

I've noticed whenever someone makes these arguments, they always use Europe as a catch all term for every single country within its proximity - as though those countries have interchangeable histories, geography and culture that they think they are experts on because they learned about the Black Plague in high school once. So then they use examples like the presence of traders on the Silk Road or ports in the Mediterranean from North Africa or the Middle East, or a one-off black/Moorish king or saint to prove that All of Medieval Europe Everywhere was at least 50% black. Because let's face it when SJWs say Medieval POC, they really just mean black.

In which case these people's sneering at the dev's explanations of it being historically accurate to Bohemia smells like them projecting their own ignorance of the country into the guy who actually lives there.

That really really depends on what engine they used, their 3d integration and the lighting set up. It's really really not that simple anymore which is why some AAA games don't really support modding like they used to back in the golden age of late 90s-early 00s because the processes are in house engines. Bethesda Elder Scrolls games are the exception these days because they embrace the modding aspect of their games and specifically make it easy to integrate into the game.

I'm not saying if there's a will, there isn't a way but you've simplified a rather complex process that isn't as easy as changing a HEX especially when you take into the 3d side of it as well.

It kinda reminds me about people throwing a tantrum because AC Unity didn't have female assassins for the co-op mission whatever shit. And all these journalists basically just kept saying 'Why doesn't Ubisoft just reskin it with a female character?' And it was like...they didn't realise they'd have to redo all the motion cap and animation tweaks and clothing animation and hair. It's a ton of work.

Normies don't quite know how much work goes into games honestly.

There's also the fact that historical trends ebb and flow. Arabs, Africans, etcetera might be more common or welcome in a certain area at a certain time than at others. Trade routes close, diplomatic relations break down, or foreign populations get assimilated and stop standing out. I'm guessing that since the game is set in a specific time period and location, it's pretty easy to say whether there was a noticeable minority population there around that time. God forbid someone crack a book and do the research.

No one does the research these days since research would show history is not really black and white. Most SJW's get their education from the internet and not the good sites because they're too complicated to understand(who can understand how the Imperial japanese navy actually functioned). Its a lot easier to go on youtube and watch a so called informative 6 minute video with cool graphics about how things 'really' were made by a 20 something that has absolutely no background in the field he's talking about.
Good websites exist but their language is not exactly 'hip' and there is too much jargon that is hard to understand if you're 20 and barely remember what you did last night except that it involved lots of cocaine.

I've also noticed a lot of the "muh historic medieval POCs" SJWs also have a habit of not factoring in how travel worked back in those days, or have a very poor understanding of it. Since everything was either by horseback or on foot, and long journeys were incredibly treacherous most people didn't have the means of desire to travel great distances. So the only reasons someone would travel back then would be if they were a merchant looking to trade/sell their goods for the goods of a friendly neighboring country/empire, or people who for whatever reason were fleeing from something and/or needed to relocate. In both cases neither group is going to want to travel further than they need to, because the merchant isn't going to go out of his way to find buttfuck Bohemia when there's plenty of places that are much closer that will take his goods and he likely has a family back home to support, and medieval commoners did not have the modern luxuries of fast travel, modern medicine, or even just having a good source waiting at their destination and settled as soon as they were able to.
