In most normal people's heads there's at least as many ways people make the world go 'round as there are people (metaphorically speaking, of course).

In a DSP fan's head the world goes: DSP acts -> trolls react -> DSP is blameless, trolls carry all the sin

I swear, every community that laughs at Phil's antics and follows along his journey is like a Scooby Doo gang that keeps busting down all the flimsy cheap-o optimistic wannabe businesses after Phil's bought into them, and Phil and his band of schoolyard cronies just keeps hilariously misunderstanding that it's some sort of conspiracy against him.

DarksydePhil is my favorite Saturday morning cartoon show.

I love how Phil has now made it crystal clear to weens how to scam him if they so choose. Laveria, OPSeat, and this latest chair reselling group all have one thing in common -- they hooked him in by saying they were "HYOOGE" fans of his and could make him a few extra dollars. That's literally all it takes to take Phil on a ruse cruise; "street smart" Burnell here has proven it three separate times now, all because he can't shut the fuck up.

And you know what the best part is? He'll almost certainly keep falling for it, despite having his brainwashed fans relay this to him, or if he reads this himself. Dollar signs and an ego boost override that pea brain and any second thoughts of "wait a sec, this is probably bullshit" he might normally have.

I know we've beaten the DSP Twitch Return Hypocrisy horse almost to death, but suffer this one further contribution from me. Found yet another blockbuster forum post while doing some, um, data-mining:

How is it slander that he begs for money tho.png

(Found it posted on Destiny's subreddit)

They weren't bringing in advertisers AT ALL, which is why they HIGHLY push for "subs" and want you to actively be getting them as much as possible. In order to make streaming on Twitch financially feasible, you HAVE To be asking/advertising for subs/donations constantly, AND you have to interrupt your streams constantly to thank people who sub/donate.

That works for full-time streamers, but NOT for YouTubers who are going to upload... to a YouTube channel. Nobody is going to watch a playthrough where I'm constantly interrupting the immersion of the game with "thank-yous" and the like... This is not going to work for me, at all; I know, because I did it for 2 years and saw ZERO growth... because I refused to conform and be a constant beggar.

Twitch is more of a place for streamers to interact with their viewers, RATHER than actually focusing on a game. The game is just the background noise... the people watching aren't there for the gameplay... That's not what I'm about. I put out quality playthroughs and that's what my business is; not being a stupid "e-celebrity" that you basically pay to interact with.

...they've invested their money into all kinds of stupid bullshit - T-shirt sales partnerships, more chat capabilities, more ways to "fundraise..." They are focused on making money through subs/donations/merch sales and the like. I don't want to be a part of that, because I'm not here to constantly shill to you.

Twitch is NOT a good business nor a good place to stream; it's a place to make money. Tons of people are apparently okay with that. I am not. I am here to provide a quality service and if Twitch refuses to actually improve what they provide for their streaming services, WHICH SHOULD BE THE FOCUS OF THEIR BUSINESS instead of being money-grubbing assholes, I refuse to ever go back.

"Oh! Oh! Mr Burnell! I'm a HYOOGE fan of yours! How about some Three-Card Monte?"

"Nobody is going to watch a playthrough where I'm constantly interrupting the immersion of the game with thank-yous."

But he has no problem ruining the immersion by making dick jokes, insulting the developers/viewers or his shit singing. It's like his brain ignores all the shit he chooses to do.

Since people keep referring to tracking Phil's exploits like watching a TV show, I whipped up a quick episode synopsis for all four seasons (season finale coming next week)

A Case Study & Cautionary Tale

Season One

1. The Dark Syde (Pilot)
A gamer from Connecticut has a dubious 4th place win in a Street Fighter tournament and decides to parlay his “success” into a new website: YouTube.

Phil signs a contract with Machinima, an MCN program with a shady reputation. Meanwhile, another partnership is brewing- a romantic one.

6. Project 7
Phil tries branching out from his usual content and produces a miniseries intended to be comedic- but his friends don't take too well to his attitude.

7. Bugged Friendship Mechanics
Project 7 hits some turbulence as tensions begin to flare when Phil tries to weasel out of paying Respect the Pact and his best friend, John Rambo.

Coming on the heels of Phil’s newfound anti-hero notoriety, a “mentally ill” group of ex-Phil fans begin a trolling campaign for the ages.

Season Two

2. Twitchy Temper
The hot new streaming website “Twitch” draws Phil’s attention, but it doesn't take too long before he rage-quits the whole thing, vowing never to return. Also, Phil reads the mail of the house’s previous owner and suspects illegal conduct.

5. Cahpyright Strikes
In between cooking up pots of homemade Italian sauce, Phil finds that he's been hit with copyright strikes on his channel, and proceeds to take some very bad advice.

6. The Wedding

7. The Incident
While setting up a livestream, Phil gets caught on camera… ahem, scratching his leg. With his reputation and online career at stake, how will he save face?

8. Ma and Pa Burnell
Phil’s parents fly in to visit their son and his girlfriend, and find that they aren't exactly functioning like normal well-adjusted adults. Mr. Burnell tries to teach his son basic life skills, but Phil remains obstinate.

9. Staycation
Phil and Leanna’s relationship has hit a rough patch, so they decide to just kick back and take it easy… by spending a ridiculous amount of money “vacationing” 20 minutes from their house.

10. I Want Answers
After Phil has a video go viral and starts a new channel for edited reviews, it seems he’s completely recovered from the infamous webcam mistake- but his YouTube income suddenly tanks, and he can’t get an explanation.

Season Three

1. The Little Guy
Framing his situation as a fight against big corporations, Phil is relentless in harassing Machinima to fix his revenue problem- but his annoying pestering might be pushing it too far.

2. It Was Mutual, Honest
Fed up with his antics, Machinima severs ties with Phil and terminates his contract. However, Phil spins his own special version of the story.

3. Twitch? Totally Cool Now!
His YouTube career on a precipice, Phil has decided to go back to streaming on twitch, all the while searching for a new MCN to partner with. Meanwhile, Leanna’s fake engagement ring raises eyebrows.

4. Laveria: Detractors in Disguise
Even though Curse agrees to sign him, a new MCN agrees to partner with Phil, but he soon falls into a rabbit hole of shell companies and false fronts.

5. The Proposal
In a last ditch effort to save his relationship, Phil goes through the world’s most unromantic marriage proposal, which could end up being an unfortunate portend of things to come.

6. The Goutmobile
Phil gets a new car, but refuses to tell anyone the make and model out of fear of ridicule for his irresponsible spending habits. Meanwhile, the spark in the brand new engagement just isn't there.

7. He Ate The Sandwich
Leanna has a panic attack at work, causing a very annoyed Phil to have to (gasp!) leave his video games for a few hours. He then makes matters worse by broadcasting the whole thing to the internet.

8. Where’s Leanna?
Leanna suddenly disappears from Phil’s internet presence, and he refuses to address the issue, causing mass speculation until he finally admits what happened.

9. The Owner of a Lonely Heart
The breakup sends Phil into a depressing spiral as he tries to convince himself that it was actually a positive event in his life- but his constant drinking and lack of basic functionality undermine the facade.

10. SOK Leaks
Soon after a doxing incident reveals Phil’s purchasing habits and old internet accounts, details come out about the Sons of Kojima that permanently fracture the group and partially vindicate Phil.

Season Four

1. Life is Hard For A Manchild
Basic housekeeping like doing laundry and grocery shopping become Herculean tasks to Phil as he no longer has a live-in servant to take care of them.

2. It’s Thanksgiving, Pity Me
Phil uses his lonely Thanksgiving to solicit money from his fans as he bemoans his hungry-man TV dinners… and gives an inside scoop on how his relationship with Leanna REALLY went.

3. True and Honest Girlfriend
Surprising everyone, Phil announces that he's been dating a girl since he broke up with Leanna, and this time it's *really* love. He gets a gleeful delight, however, out of withholding all information about her.

4. The Taxman Cometh
Phil spins a tale of conspiracy involving the SOK, magazine subscriptions, dishonest accountants and why his business technically isn't a business (but technically sorta is) to solicit viewer donations.

5. Home for the Holidays
The mystery girlfriend does some traveling to visit Phil for an early Christmas celebration, complete with trips to iKea, awkward back-of-the-head photos, and talk of moving in together… because they are soulmates, after all.

6. Kimberlie Brink
An escort claiming to be Phil’s mystery girlfriend pops up out of the woodwork, setting off an avalanche of ridiculous speculation, brownie recipes, vague threats and a looming deadline to pay up.

7. January Harvest
The “escort” pushes things too far and ends up being exposed, but not before a supporter of Phil’s sets off a doxing campaign that lights a cleansing fire in the community.

8. Rub-A-Dub-Dub
Desperate to maintain relevance, Phil films himself in the shower… for a second time. Meanwhile, he makes plans for his new soulmate to move into the Renton Mansion.

9. The Fastest Way to Lose A Sponsor
A sponsorship opportunity backfires on Phil when a gaming chair company pulls their support. Not to be deterred, he seeks out a similar sponsor- only to destroy the entire company.

10. Soulmaid 2.0

(season finale coming soon)

I'd like to announce my new product, Plague Gaming Tissues. For those days when you got to relieve some stress before a big gaming session, Plague Gaming Tissues is there. We are reaching out to a pretty big gamer as a sponsor, former best friend Phil Burnell!

And talking to chat. His "hyperfocus on the game" from 2013-16 was a farce. The reason why being because it's post-hoc rationalization. The ONLY guiding principle of this "business" or "streaming style" is the one that guides Phil away from doing any work.

7. He Ate The Sandwich

Best episode title, hands down. It's one thing to joke about the different seasons of this fucked up show we're all watching. But, to see it in writing, especially with TV Guide style syntax episode recaps, I cannot believe how much his shenanigans actually resemble a bona fide sitcom. And one that, if I wasn't already watching it and heard about it, I'd genuinely want to see how Phil was going to get out of his next jam every week.

And all it took was for someone to write it. Salute, sir.

While it will never happen after the precedent set by chairgate, it would be funny to see Phil hang himself trying to whore out a product. Take his most recent sponsor. He complained that the thing was heavy, a bitch to put together, told a lovely anecdote centered around his dick, and to top it all off didn't even sit in the fucking chair for his stream. This was all within 12 hours of announcing the sponsorship.

Today was great, but maybe some good laughs never get the chance to exist because people immediately bombard these companies the second they tie themselves to Phil. Imagine the things that could have come if Phil actually signed a contract with that Laveria affiliate.

"Nobody is going to watch a playthrough where I'm constantly interrupting the immersion of the game with thank-yous."

But he has no problem ruining the immersion by making dick jokes, insulting the developers/viewers or his shit singing. It's like his brain ignores all the shit he chooses to do.

Because he's a narcissist. Repeat it in your head for everything he does, it's the most likely explanation every time.

If a hundred people complain, in his head it's just one dude in his mom's basement.
If one person praises him, in his head it's a thousand followers who are independent and intelligent.
Phil is mentally incapable of saying or thinking in anything but extremes and absolutes. Judging by his Wolverine-figurine story he was absolutely spoiled as a child, which is what apparently causes narcissistic personality disorder in an adult.

Wants him to continue playing PUBG because it shows how actually really bad he is at F/TPS games he is when no chat can help him point out what to do to win andthe enemies don't spawn at the same place constantly, how he is unable to aim and just sprays and sprays, unable to pay attention and unwilling to learn.

He sponsored and was promoting a scam company that were selling knock-off chairs for $100 more than what they were worth to his fans. Yet, the "detractors" are the assholes for exposing their shit and saving his fans and others from being suckered.

This fucking guy.....

Why didn't he raise funds for the monitor and cry about it.

...... like he did with the headphones.....

Exactly, because then he would have the added benefit of finding something wrong with the monitor and then blaming the people that gave him money for it.

at the 4 :30 min mark he announced the sad news.

Notice how he doesn’t care about this “sponsorship” at all compared to when OP dropped him? He destroyed an entire company and doesn’t care in the least. It’s because he wasn’t sponsored!

Think about this: in the matter of half a day after announcing he got (bought) this chair, he completely dismantled a company. How awful must your life be for that to happen?
