This thread is going to be like my Nice Guys thread in that it doesn't focus on a specific community but rather a large, disperse group of people who share the same ideology. In this case, it's people who think they're certified geniuses when in reality they're just jackasses.

Smart Guys/Gals are identifiable by the following traits:
  • Thesaurus abuse
  • Bragging about their IQ number
  • Pseudo-intellectualism
  • Bad philosophy
  • The belief that liking a certain thing automatically makes them geniuses (Nietzsche, Richard Dawkins, Karl Marx, etc)
  • Bragging about how much smarter they are than the unwashed masses
I'm sure all of the people reading this thread have had at least one experience with someone like this. This is a thread where you can share those experiences.

Anyway, I'll get us started:

It looks like our friend Onision is a member of this distinguished group.

"These girls don't trade crypto money"
:story:

Also, I guarantee that this guy is going to go through life warding off women like he's wearing repellent (which his attitude basically acts as) only to assume it's because they're all "dumb bitches who don't appreciate his genius."

Posting just for the "Richard and Mortimer" statement. I'm gonna have to steal that.

Translation: "I would have bought this game if it didn't come with DRM, which treats paying users as thieves. It's too bad, because it looks like a fun game."

He does sound like an absolute muppet tbh.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

I have an I.Q. of 317 which is relatively high for a person my age but you don't see me blustering and boasting about it ubiquitously, these ignominious buffoons are utterly embarrasing

I got a hypothetical question for these jackasses:

If a neckbearded autist crashed into slumber in the basement after he went into tardrage, and no one was around to hear it, did it actually happen?

But seriously, I can't tell you how much I hate people like this. You know quantum mechanics, can speak 7 languages and can do the hardest math problems with ease. Well, big fucking woop. Do something useful with it instead of flaunting it everywhere!
