I think one of them was when his parents sold the house he was living in. I think he claims that they owe him the equity in the house because he paid a little in rent. There are some emails where he was chimping out on his dad about it.

He was paying $235/mo in rent for allegedly 10 years and feels he's owed over $20k in equity when it was sold.

I don't know the specifics, but I assume either Gene was subsidizing the mortgage payment and letting Tommy pay the interest or the property wasn't worth much in the first place and probably didn't have $20k in equity.

Tommy is so bad at math and basic financial concepts like interest, that if the mortgage was only $235/mo, he doesn't realize that the interest paid from his rent was the majority of the mortgage payment and the principle amount was much lower.

I also suspect that after ten years of Tommy living in filth, that the property was so devalued that Gene lost his $10k down payment and probably had to stroke a check at closing to unload the place.

Smoking tobacco with allergies is not healthy for you at all. Smoking acts as an irritant to the nasal passages, which can lead to sneezing or a runny nose, medically described as allergicrhinitis. Nicotine in cigarettes causes constriction of blood vessels, including those in the eyes, which can lead to red, itchy eyes. It also does shit all for your lungs; a lot of smokers think the cigarette help the coughing and it does in all the wrong ways. Nicotine releases histamines in the lungs and helps stop the coughing while also giving you a whole bevy of fuck you problems later on in life.
A lot of 'self-prescribed' stoners will advocate that smoking a bowl with allergies does little to alleviate symptoms though some have mentioned coughing less. It does not cure allergies and it does not fight them.
Given how you cough like a lung is trying to dislodge itself from your abdomen I highly doubt your over the counter medicine is anything more than a bandaid on a much larger growing problem.

Your story isn't adding up in a number of ways:

-There is no physical dwelling on earth where a mortgage payment is $235 per month. Ghetto crack dens cost more than that. Living in a shithole motel costs more than that. Hell, even if you have 2 roommates who also pay rent, it'll still be more than that. Most mortgages operate on something like a 20 year period. By that math, at 235 per month, 20 years would be $56,400.
That's barely a trailer home, much less any land to put it on. You can't get a shitty 1 bed 1 bath condo for that, much less a house.

-Before you start, even in the midwest in the crap areas, the bare absolute minimum that one can pay to live indoors per month is around $450. That's just to rent a tiny 300 sq foot coffin to sleep in, and it's going to be in the ghetto.
What I suspect is that he way paying the mortgage, and you were giving him a very small sum of money each month to live there.

-Usually, there is some form of written contract specifying how and when you need to be notified about moving out. If he, as you claim, "sold it out from under you", then you're a sucker who got taken for a ride, and that's hilarious.

I am but a humble CNA, but I have worked in facilities with elderly patients with lung disease and I have heard a cough similar to Tommo’s many a time... not a one of those patients’ coughs were hand-waved off as “merely allergies and well managed” because they didn’t have just allergies... they all had lung diseases like COPD.

Keep in mind this mortgage was back in the late 70 to early 80 so it could have been that cheap. Most mortgages, especially for single family homes, pack the property taxes and insurance payments into the payment as escrow, because they want to ensure they get paid. Unpaid property tax means the borough/county/whatever can eventually levy your home against you and not even a bank can stop that without paying for it, tax levies and local auctions on property happen all the time.

So there are two options here: either he had an impossibly low mortgage payment and that was it, someone else paid for homeowners insurance (because lol no lender in the fucking land, even during the heyday of the subprimes, would let that shit lapse) and property taxes OR :lol: or Thomas is claiming he paid out $235 a month for all three, which is just, lmao man. Happens all the time fam, so lets all take heart: even if Tom destroyed the place when he left in an attempt to get back at his dad, it was almost certainly all in vain. Total loss on a property is legally determined as "at least" 51% of the property's value so unless he managed to do that, its pretty unlikely that there was any out of pocket costs.

So my point here is that the good Doctor is right again and Tom's lies aren't believable, again, at all. two words: you're wrong. it was as i said it was. the total purchase price was only 28K, so with the 10k down payment the note was only 18k and the payment was 235. it was also a small bank that wrote the paper.
