I wonder if most of the "good" concepts of Yandere Simulator come from fans. Alex did mention that he used to make threads about the game on some website (I forgot what it was - it should've been tumblr or 4chan) and he got tons of suggestions from them.
He shilled the game on 4chan and 8chan for a long time. All the new content in the game came from suggestions made in these threads. Ever since he acted like a big baby and left, his ideas have been fucking awful.

So yes, all the good ideas came from "fans" on chans.

Bad analogy (as usual) there bud. Hitman is a +15 year old franchise, it's bald assassin and social stealth mechanics are iconic and influential. You can't just do the same and pretend it's not a ripoff.

On the other hand let's see Alex...

>If somebody makes a game

Alex never made a game (In his own words, there is no win state so nobody can criticize it as a game). Yandere school is a finished product with multiple languages like portuguese.

>Yandere schoolgirl

Ayano might be "iconic" via sheer internet fame but she isn't a yandere and Alex didn't invent them.

>killing people in a school setting for love

That's common in anime and games, even outside of yandere stories lol. Yandere school actually has some original ideas like killing Senpai's male friends instead of just a single female rival.

>Stealth/action

Yansim isn't stealth/action, it's more like a puzzling mess that makes no sense. Yandere Schol has a much simple but pratical stealth gameplay, you find a weapon-> find opportunity-> kill-> hide body-> GG. It's ironically more close to hitman than yansim is.

tl;dr: Not a "ripoff". Alex had the idea first but they were the ones who actually made a game with it.

They actually made their own assets without stealing from MMD.

One of the many things that bothers me about his dumb jerkoff """game""" is the amount of custom items, like hair, accessories, and other shit. Like, aren't the modelers gonna be pissed if/when they have to resize all of those god damn hairs to fit onto an ORIGINAL model? It's another waste of time, fuck with that shit when the game is done. But y'know, autism.

And that's actually the nail I'd shove right into Alex's coffin when he's sobbing about how people have managed to beat him at his own concept. Not only is his product not finished, but he's committed enough theft that his non-game can be dragged to court at any point in time.

It's hilarious how many times a day I see Alex try to defend himself whenever he is challenged by others.

Seriously, is it *that* hard to make a game that doesn't warrant so many transparency posts and clarifications? Really, it seems like Alex just does whatever he wants and tries his best to explain it afterwards, i.e. adding in a group of girls with a decades year old fashion trend that is considered taboo in most Japanese high schools and explaining why it makes sense in a Reddit post.

I wonder what TinyBuild's CEO's wife (who was said to be a huge fan of YS) thinks about all of this.

On another note, I was re-reading through this and couldn't help but be amused when I saw:

Alex Mahan said:
I honestly see no downside to this partnership.

Oh, little did you know.

There would have been no problems if he could've kept it cool with the programmer (assuming that's the stick in the spoke of this partnership.) Wasn't one of the problems Alex listed for not liking the programmer was that he was snotty/annoying/had attitude, or something? Get a grip, man. People have bosses who shit on them all the time for years on end because they need the job; You only have to stick this out for a couple years to publish what would be the biggest accomplishment in your life, while being paid around $24 - $32 an hour by your adoring fans.
