Arcade Pit used to be a fun show to watch until it became painfully obvious that the show's staff was in bed with the same identity politics-driven shitheels as the rest of Something Awful. Perennial social justice favorites Psychedelic Eyeball and Slowbeef made regular appearances both as contestants and officials. I don't blame Lowtax for not bothering to come back.

LordBBH is the only other name I recognize on that list, and he runs a successful stream where he does a lot of arcade games on a custom MAME setup he's built. I wouldn't be surprised if he is also a former fan turned sour by the atmosphere of the people from the show.

I don't get what's so horrible about KF to these people, other than some of them very obviously have the view that nobody, anywhere, ever should have the right to publicly laugh at, get squicked out by, or morbidly fascinated by anyone else. Probably because they have the fear of God put in them that someday they'll get laughed at by people and not be able to have someone else forcefully shut them up.

KF seems like a combination of a carnival sideshow, and a place to talk with other people about the attractions in said sideshow. Even if you feel bad for the carnies in the sideshow for being "exploited for their appearance" or whatever, you don't have to go to the carnival, you don't have to talk with the people who went, and more importantly the fact that people go shows there's interest in it.

It's ignorance. These are the same people that think 4chan is an anarchist hacker group collective, 8chan is a refuge for nazis and cheese pizza delivery services, ED is an organized crime syndicate hellbent on making people kill themselves, and Tumblr is a site full of well adjusted people with a realistic outlook on life and modern society.

It's also the half-subjective notion of the danger that they themselves (or their friends) might get a thread here some day. When you discover that a site like KF exists and that you immediately realize your own potential as a lolcow there are two ways you can react about it:
  1. "Well, maybe I should stop being dumb and ridiculous online - or at least limit the amount of silliness I do publicly on profiles that can be traced back to me personally. Time to shape up and stop being a cow or I might get burned (online and IRL, for being generally stupid)."
  2. "OMG KF HOW DO EVEN EXISTZ IM CUTTING IT DOWN"
Only the second type of person is immediately going to follow through with a tweet that demonizes KF and makes all sorts of false assumptions, bringing more attention to them (which gets them posted here in this thread, ironically enough)!
