Disaster Mass shooting at florida high school - Beware the autism

Multiple people have been injured in an active shooter situation at a high school in south Florida, police confirmed.

The Broward Sheriff's Office is responding to the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

The Coral Springs Police Department is asking students and teachers to remain barricaded inside until police reach you.

According to WSVN, at least three people were seen surrounded by first responders and one person was seen being wheeled into an ambulance. There are reports of up to 20 injuries.

Nah thats a legit source. My high school had a one semester elective class when i was attending (but never took as I wasn't particularly interested). Also the school this guy shot up is apparently 40% Jewish. So it makes sense.

My numbers may be off but didn't crime rates drop after the assault weapons ban was lifted? Murder rates in general are pretty low, we're just hyper aware due to news being able to reach us so much faster now.

And the left does bleat like idiots anytime you mention having (background checked) armed security at a school. Maybe not as a permanent solution, but until we get a handle on things, it's not a bad idea. If the guy at the liquor store protects his booze with a gun, then I'm fine with a teacher packing heat, too. In theory. There are certainly some teachers too incompetent to handle a firearm, but if it's 1/10 that's additional security.

Not to mention- the media is complicit in these shootings. People that feel they're not getting enough attention are attracted to the attention they'll get. Ultimately, just being on the news and getting your 15 minutes of fame is glamorous to some people. If they can't get attention from Stacy, they might be fucked up enough to try something like this.

I have to say during every shooting- there's no easy solution. You have roughly 170 years of repeating firearms in circulation at this point. Confiscating or even forming a registry of half of those is likely to be an insurmountable logistical nightmare.

Or instead of teachers starting a gun fight around children perhaps the US shouldn't be full retard around guns and actually engage in serious gun reform like every other developed nation.

People say that the issues is "Ban all guns" or "Allow all guns" but honestly, the issue is that the pro-gun side are a bunch of REEEEEEEEEEEing dipshits when it comes to guns who don't give a fucking shit about children dying if it means having a fucking basic mental health check or better regulation around 2nd hand fire arm sales or more strict enforcement against unregistered firearms.

It also doesn't help the Right have blocked basically anything to do with reasonable healthcare in the United States basically blocking crazies from being identified or getting treatment because they can't afford exorbitant healthcare and Asylums have all been shut down.

Honestly, this shit only happens to the scale it does in the US and it's obvious to anybody with eyes why.

Not that there is much point to this debate. Americans made their choice with Sandy Hook, any not fucking batshit country would have moved after that, but the US, nope, in fact, gun laws became more lax.

You want compromise, start by putting something on the table. Compromise does not mean demanding a thing and settling for half of the thing you demanded. The next gun grabber I hear propose trading universal mental health checks for a repeal of the Hughes Amendment will be the first.
