I don't think we can time travel to 2021. But I'm sure there would be more easter eggs, more complete and successful YanSim 'rip-offs', more indie games that will bury YanSim six feet under and then some.

And Cuphead was delayed for three years for numerous understandable reasons because of the concept with progress, and still managed to have a successful release. YanSim has four years of deliberately holding back with no progress at all, and there is no release in sight.

I think any other indie games automatically wins from YanSim just by progress is done on the games alone.

DevFan themselves probably finds it funny or endearing in some sense if I’m just going off of the descriptions and how enthusiastic they are about making these videos.

We talked here before but"Devfan" is most likely Alex himself because:

1)Alex made fake alt accounts before and i refuse to believe a functional human being would create a youtube account just to post his "highlights".

2)IMO These "mental breakdowns" are obviously fake and he uploads for attenttion. I know Alex got legit mad when he lost at Cuphead cause he bashed the keyboard and deleted the entire stream. Every other time he "rages" he becomes an awful Darksydephil clone saying "What thge fuck DUDE? Are you shiting me? What the fuuuuck?!"

Yes, it is. Yandev was saying many times (especially during the end of the year with Easter Egg contest and all) that he always wanted to make a Kill la Kill EE. He even suggested that he would love to see peoples ideas for Ayanos KlK clothes.

Im actually liking the red string thing he will add in the build, though? I imagine Id have lots of fun connecting all the photos together for no reason. Its the kind of freedom I love in video games.
But then, suddenly... really? Placeholder will have a quest now?! Oh no. As if she wasnt likeable already with her design. Dont get attached, guys.

I always felt most of his reactions were just for show, too, which is why I never really cared if he was slurpy or chimping out in them. It's just an annoying way of hyping up the stream.

I'm less mad and more disappointed at the whole thing. Like, "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" tier disappointed. The dude had so many good opportunities handed to him from MikeZ giving him critique and programming advice for a month on IRC to having big youtubers like Markiplier and Pewdiepie put his game under the spotlight, and making his Patreon among one of the top grossing among game devs for years (though it looks like that's finally starting to wind down and his slowness is finally starting to bite him in the ass) even though it's nowhere close to finished.
Despite this, he still can't bring himself to actually get better at programming, refuses to remove bad mechanics keeping his game banned from twitch, organize an actual dev team to help make his game at the pace he wanted, and would rather sit in his reddit echochamber pushing his twitch channel while getting bad dev advice from teens.
