I have been trying to catch up with the recent drama and finally got a chance to watch
Josh's latest video and I have to say... Despite his insistence that he struggles with having any sort of tact, I think he handled the situation very well.
Lily on the other hand was very reactionary and seem to see this whole ToonKriticY2K business as a way for her to be like "See guys! Josh is such a shithead!" and bringing up old grievances she had with Josh
years ago, that they had already reconciled with.
Lily, you wrote pokemon bestiality. It doesn't matter if the pokemon in question shares a 'bond' with the trainer or is sentient, you are still writing about a trainer fucking a pokemon. You have written about pedophilia, and even though your intent
might (i highly doubt this claim btw) have been to lambast it in your story through a satirical approach, your failure to execute said alleged satire correctly makes it look as if you
were trying to normalize pedophilia, broken power dynamics and domestic abuse.
As for the claim that going public with the evidence before the police began to investigate is detrimental, this is a very real concern. Many predators don't go after one victim, as ToonKritic has already shown. When people get publicly assblasted over what they've done they delete shit, some of that shit might be evidence that hasn't been discovered yet. This includes other aliases, websites, web history, etc. Having a suspect nuke fucking everything before the police can begin to look at it hampers the investigation.
Even if social media keeps archives of records, there are recorded cases of sites (mainly Facebook) not handing over chat logs. Even if it involves the endangerment of a child, which is you know,
a fucking federal thing. On average, Facebook (the only one I know data on) only hands out information to authorities around 84% of the time.
Tumblr is really bad at this in general, but that's because their staff is composed entirely of rats scurrying across a keyboard. Twitter is probably one of their few hopes.
