Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

There’s typically a couple days wait for a background check. Wu says she’s going to make them instant. How she’ll manage to do that, however...

Background checks are already instant in most states. In some places a permit to purchase a gun is required and that can take some time.

If that's true then there is also "no reason a civilian needs access to" a semi-automatic magazine fed weapon like a Glock but Wu loved to brag about owning one.
It's a stupid argument because it's based on reflected grief and you can scale it up and down and say "there's no reason for a civilian to own ___" and apply it to anything. The road death toll is horrific, and mass transit and charter hire vehicles with professional drivers exist, so there's no reason for a civilian to own a car. If anyone disagrees with you, just point to a mountain of corpses and bingo, moral authority is yours!

I like the completely unnecessary mention of his age as if anyone gave a shit. Those little peeks into his worldview are telling.
John will throw out anything he feels will give him some kind of position of authority over others. Situations like this are pretty much the only way to get him to acknowledge his real age.

"Someone like"= someone I fantasize of myself as being like.

Not the superpowers, the badass Krysten Ritter character.

Black panther only means something to weirdos.

Don't get me wrong, if you've got any connection to your ethnicity or ingroup it's great to see them portrayed on screen, but pandering is worse than nothing. To be quite honest I'd rather see my people as villians ( without a token good apple) as long as they're true to the culture and human.

So long story short, John wants regulations that are already in place?

Wu is presumably echoing the fairly standard liberal\dem point that 'common sense gun safety' (or whatever the phase is now) should include "universal background checks." This would mean that, unlike now, any purchase or gift of a firearm, even between you and your neighbor, cousin, etc. would have to go through the national instant background check system. At this time such a check is required only when you (a) buy from a licensed gun dealer, (b) transfer a firearm across state lines to buy it or (c) live in one of the 11ish states that already have that requirement.

So it's a pretty common talking point. It wouldn't have stopped any of these school shootings (this latest retard passed one of those very checks) but Wu isn't entirely outside the political sphere in pushing that stuff. It's basically the lowest hanging fruit.

There are sane and sensible gun laws that could be passed, but I will never vote for any politician at any level of government who campaigns on or votes for any laws that restrict firearm purchases and ownership more than they already are. Because there is no sane stopping point for gun control nuts. They won't stop until we're the UK and you have to have a permit to buy a damn butter knife.

And the UK nittering nancies are trying to get knives banned. There is no stopping point.

Some amerifag correct me on this. But when you set off to own a gun, don't you automatically get a background check?

Depends on where you buy. If I want to sell a gun to a friend (or even a stranger), there is no paper work to file or background checks I need to run. There are still some things I'm not allowed to do (like sell a gun to someone who lives in another state), and if I sell too many guns or primarily make my living by selling guns, I'm supposed to get an FFL and run background checks.

If I buy from a gun store, there is Federal-mandated background check through NCIS. Its usually pretty fast, but can sometimes take an hour or two to return. It may take longer if there is a "Delay" result.
Some states have additional laws that introduce additional waiting periods or other delays.

"I'm glad that black people can be validated by popular mass media like I, valiant Congresswoman Brianna Wu, was validated by another piece of mass media."

Regarding the gun control bit, it's funny how the "extreme vetting" is only okay to prevent people from getting guns and not okay when it comes to letting in any migrant imaginable from anywhere, no questions asked.

Brianna Wu:
A. Sent Warren Lynch and possibly a dying Frank to the caucuses this morning while she stayed on Twitter.
B. Seems to have lied about meeting constituents and taking the scampaign seriously.
C. Could have released any kind of platform by now but has been too busy eating innumerable Potbelly sandwiches.
