I guess I'm more fascinated with why Frank puts up with it. Not only does he have to dump a ton of money into her projects, but he's got to do all the work when she gets bored and he actually has a real job to also deal with.
I've mentioned it a few times but "Brianna Wu, Godzilla of Feminists" is a two-man act (pun intended). Wu only has a career because of Frank, and was only brought into CON because of her connections (which includes Frank's). While Brianna
is capable of greasing palms and getting doors opened on her own, she's nowhere near as skilled as Frank at it. She needs Frank to get the bigger sources to listen and Frank needs her to be the insane social butterfly she is in order to exploit her for cash.
Wu has
insanely low speaker rates compared to Anita Sarkeesian and company, which makes her much more appealing to those on a budget who want to include a professional victims quotient and don't want to spend much (Seriously, Wu costs about 5% of what Anita does). At this point Frank's packed away enough assets and resources that he could retire and not worry about a damned thing for the rest of his life, between inheritance, his previous job, and Brianna's previous victimbux ebegging campaigns (patreon alone got her almost 36,000 between 2014 and 2015 not counting the one-time 12,000 donation from Cliffy B).
A common question is why Frank puts up with this.
Fact is, Frank needs someone he can feel superior to, and Brianna Wu clicks every checkbox in that regard. Without getting into too much detail, Frank was openly abusive towards his previous wife, berated her until she left Sci-Fi Writing, and constantly undermined her confidence any time she was better than him at something. When she planned to return to sci-fi writing, Frank Wu let fly with this fucking thing:

Fact is, in Brianna Wu, Frank has someone who is
entirely dependent on him and whose life he basically controls. Brianna did not have a driver's license until 2017. She has basically no assets on her own, her family wants nothing to do with her, and she sold them down-river for e-victimhood
ages ago. He basically runs her life. Shit like this video are things the pair do to make Frank look affable and likable, when in truth, he's arguably the bigger asshole of the pair, and does it solely to deflect any suspicion that anyone but Brianna is in charge:
