(apologies for the White Knight Sperging but this just came to my mind) if that guy had a thousand dollars to throw around, why didn't he just cough up another 67 dollars and use the self-publish service Simon and Schuster has to make Sonichu in brick and mortar stores a reality? For 1,067 dollars you can get a publishing package that would've realized Chris's wildest dreams and would've made him a lot of money as fronting the costs means you get to keep more.

If CWC can't even keep a page on Lulu (which has hosted Harry Potter fanfiction for years) from getting banned, how's he going to keep his stuff on Simon and Schuster? (Which, I assume, has a lot more screening than Lulu does.)
 
DSTecks is a weird case of a name everyone knows but not one that most know a lot about. How many people here could honestly say what he's done other than the top "used to do sonichu reviews" and "gave Chris $1000"? Maybe it's just me but he's been flying under the radar while still showing up as a blip on it.

Skimming through the thread, what interests me the most comes from the associations people are pointing out. He's connected to a lot of much more interesting people, in a lolcow sense. What that says to me is that there's probably more beneath the surface than what appears at a glance, and he's doing a good job at keeping it contained. The potential here comes from whether or not something is going to provoke that hidden depth out of hiding.

Just conjecture but still, colour me optimistic.

The nice thing about the Publishing package is that you get a Publishing Pal who helps smooth out the details. The publishing package that you get with 1,067 dollars is usually used by rich parents who want to make their child's dream of becoming a copyright character reality. The Publishing Pal usually helps come up with ways so their kid can be the hero without anyone getting angry. Given Chris's claim that Sonichu is a parody (and the fact Publishing Pals have the patience of a Monk) it would be easy for the pal to get something that wouldn't piss off the companies Chris ripped off.
