@Dragoonism I didnt realise Tax Attorney is slang for paying at least 6k to move the soul maid in :p that poor woman is now chained playing Overwatch til the sun rises and her chains get moved to the kitchen where she can cook, clean and listen to music from the TV because Phail is a great husbandu
Im not buying it either, but through out december and early january he claimed he was not only going to pay thousands in back tax, but also thousands to his tax attorney for finding out how much he owed in back tax and negotiating over how much he would pay in the end. The tax attorney and his cost pretty much disappeared almost midway in to january.

Anonybitch is really rolling the dice, Phil might have to get out his belt now. It's a big belt...

Unrelated: At the beginning of the stream, Phil mentioned he had a great time running errands with Kat yesterday, and that when you're with someone that you enjoy spending time with, even mundane things can be fun. This is better than the alternative, namely a person who just finds it boring.
In conclusion, Phil apparently thinks Leanna is watching, because there's no way that wasn't a direct dig. Petty.
Also funny that he's willing to talk about Kat when he can laud it over Leanna, but after that nobody has any right to ask, crazy stalkers.

It's still the honeymoon/just happy to be here phase. I don't think Phil realizes that Kat will get just as bored as Leanna did after a while of doing nothing but running errands. The fact that that's all he does with her on his "day off" only makes it an inevitability she'll leave once she has the means to do so. :optimistic:

but good news he is down to 462 subs I am sure he is happy.

Wow, I honestly didn't think it would drop this much. No wonder he's so desperate for another "fundraising" stream. Also explains his mood when he made that salty dig at Leanna.

I find it funny that he is trying to push the cooking show sub goal with his girlfriend but absolutely refuses to introduce her.
How would anyone know if they would want to watch something with her as the forefront of you won't even reveal her personality.
He is also being way too greedy asking for patreon and subs. This will blow up in his face if he keeps it up this year.

Seriously, what does he expect us to think he did went and hired a personal CPA? He doesn't make enough or have complicated enough taxes for that. A general accounting firm like H&R would be more than enough. Anything more isn't going to save enough extra to cover the bill.

A good CPA runs hundreds of dollars a billable hour. And most wouldn't take Phil because he's not worth the hassle and doesnt make enough to be worth the time and hassle of wrangling such an amazingly niche profession.

Ahhhhhhh, you're talking about the 2018 tax changes. My bad--I was still in the 2017 mindset. That makes more sense.

On the note of taxes, Phil is lying yet again about how he has no idea how he'll pay his taxes come April. He's perpetuating the bullshit that you have to pay the lump amount all at once. Speaking from personal experience with an owed tax amount of $7k, the IRS is perfectly happy to put you on a payment plan, even at just $200 a month. They want the money--nothing more. Fuck this guy.
They really want the money and will only throw in the concrete box when you really push it.

He strikes me as the individual who is exceptional enough to think he has to log each and every donation/tip/cheer/bit/whatever from his paypigs and report each and every transaction individually. He's probably inundated some poor tax attorney slash tax accountant with a mountain of files, where the only pertinent numbers are buried somewhere in the middle. So, all the billable hours are taken up by the tax attorney slash tax account sifting through the disorganized pile to find the numbers necessary to complete the tax return. The poor sap probably tells him every time he talks "Mr. Burnell, please just give me the number at the bottom of *x* form and the number from *y* source. I don't need all this other stuff."

"DOOD. I know my taxes, okay, and you need to see all of these things, okay? Without them, I don't know how much my back taxes are going to be, okay? *snort* So, just take all this stuff, I think there's a Wendy's receipt in there but that wasn't for a DSP tries it, okay? Sound good?"

he just started giving dark souls advice and i had to tune out

This guy...

He can't even manage stamina in a Souls game (which is one of the easiest things to understand) and he thinks he can give advice?

The Dark Souls advice being "look up those wikis because the game is so cryptic" adds insult to injury.

Eh, I agree and disagree. Souls 1 and Demons are cryptic. My first time playing Souls 1 I had zero idea of how to get boss weapons, how to get magic, how to use magic, what stats are most important (turns out Resistance is a complete waste of time to invest in), and various little things.

How to access the DLC in Souls 1 is almost impossible to know without looking it up.

How to find an item that counts the magic attacks of Manus is very cryptic. Not only do you have to find a hidden room but you cannot just attack the hidden wall to reveal said hidden room like every other hidden room in the game. No. Instead you have to use one of those severed head lanterns and shine that on the hidden wall and then you can enter.

Now Souls 2 and 3 are far less cryptic. The only things you'd have to look up is how to access the hidden bosses. And maybe how to get the keys to access the DLC areas in Scholars of the First Sin.

jezal on twitter after being asked how he feels after he left the dsp cult: "I'm saving a lot of money and am able to watch a lot of other streamers. I like it this way."

I find the best way to convert DSP Fanboys isn't to show him all the bad shit he's done, DSP has a counterargument for that - He just says they're nuggets of truth or they're highly edited or never believe detractors they're sociopaths etc. So the fanboys have that embedded into them not to trust detractors and their highly edited videos that make Phil look bad etc. The best way to do it is show how better other streamers are. When you show them other streamers they're like "Woah. This persons really nice and they're funnier than DSP and I can talk to them without paying money? And they respond? And there's no drama or negativity? Wow!" it's kinda broadening their scope a bit. You show them there are people far more funnier and more entertaining than DSP and they'll interact with you without being a condescending dick who talks down and they'll interact for free. There's a reason Phil spins a tale about how bad other streamers are and how they're all negative money grabbers who are liars. It's cause if a fan watches someone else he'd lose them for good pretty much.

The last time DSP showed his desktop you could see a file labelled 'Tax info For CPA'. Although I guess it could have been from years ago, given what the rest of his shortcuts were :/
