I'm calling 3-6 months or less depending on how much Kat is able to contribute financially. I'm basing this on his inevitable inability to pay off his debt. Once he can't make payments necessary the dominoes are going to start falling.

The vast majority of people that seem to be interested in DSP only got into it because of the SoK. With the SoK dead and the weens slowly starting to disband its clear that a lot of the "hype" was purely based upon a lack of information (because Phil's content is spoken and not written).

Most of the "incidents" surrounding DSP seem to have been dramatically overstated and despite not being the best human being, he really does nothing that interesting. Most of its just run of the mill shit (like getting revenge on your ex).

Once you take away the SoK, Vidar, KG, TKOH and other "detractor" drama you get left with a fairly average letsplayer whose popularity is solely fueled by drama created by a crowd (newwave detractors) who try to interfere and "tou.ch the poop".

Every single drama has come and gone with almost no involvement from Phil (despite the usual prestream rants). He doesn't engage with any other streamers, so he's not even a part of the streaming "community". He has a tiny, rabid fanbase, many of whom have either stopped supporting him or moved on entirely.

Once you take away the "newwave detractors" you get an extremely boring letsplayer who gets drunk and goes on rants about other more successful letsplayers:

The only reason he ever got popular to begin with is because he was around very early on when YouTube first enabled monetization.

@neger psykolog -- Gonna disagree for the sole reason that if Phil rubbed the two remaining brain cells in his head together, he would leave his "mansion" and go into something smaller. The WA condo (and let's be clear, it's a fucking condo--the address has "Apt. 30" in it) costs him $18000 (mortgage, property tax, etc) + HOA fees a year. That's roughly 20% of his income. If he cut that in half, he'd be doing much better financially. Same for if he actually worked at dumping the CT condo.

Basically, he's only in "dire straits" now b/c he refuses to let any of his shit go. If he maintains anything remotely close to even his "bad" months, he'll be fine once he cuts out his exorbitant excess. Meaning that he could stick around easily until either he gets booted from Twitch or they go under. That's the only way he disappears.

I'll also add to this as a separate point regarding the autism that surrounds DSP. I'll start out by saying I don't blame people for situations that they're in, I'm purely making an observation.

DSP's recent hardcore alogs have had at least some things in common:

• Financial despair/poor
• Unemployed, underemployed or NEET
• Tragedy (death/loss/repossessed children)
• Unhappy with what they have and mad that DSP might have something better (such as getting mad that DSP may have scored an attractive lady)

I'm not talking about people that make videos about him, or even SoK members, but rather the people that seem to reach out and touch the po.op have either one or all of these in common.

I'm also a giant hypocrite like most humans, so I'll also say that if you're having a rough time in life, that sucks, but trying to actively shit on a boring past his prime Twitch streamer probably isn't the best thing you can spend your time on. If you're mad because DSP got a free chair or mad that someone decided to use their own money to give to Phil then you're no better or worse than he is.

I disagree, Phil is a literal cockroach. He will never stop playing videogames. He didn't stop when things looked the most awful for him, he is not going to stop now. People aren't going to stop finding him either, his carreer is stuck in a "i'm not doing so bad, but not so good either" sort of limbo.

What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that, if you have been following him since before his prime, the "war" has already been lost for him. He will never become as successful and famous as he once was even though that's what he wants to do everytime he wakes up. His carreer nowadays is the equivalent of a zombie who refuses to accept it has died.

Phil will never hang the gloves, if he ever stops then it will be something deliberately stopping him from doing so, because he really doesn't know how to do anything else.

The sad part is that maybe, MAYBE if he stopped acknowledging the "detractors", he would get new ACTUAL fans. Not the trolls or anti-trolls he has nowadays. But he can't help himself and has to mention them on every prestream, he has to give a history lesson detailing everything from his prime instead of just accepting that this is a new reality, move on and recieve new viewers with open arms and actual positivity.

If there is anything that i really fucking hate about DSP is to think that a new viewer who wants to support him has to go through so many layers of -tism and crap because Phil won't change his attitude.

It is the sole reason, but like everything else, he won't change it until its far too late. It was his own decision to get into his current financial situation and its his own indecision which makes it a situation that won't end easily.

Nah, it's his ego, stupidity and desperation all rolled into one. I think he would see that as losing. The trolls win. They took his house. They took his revenue. They took everything.
He never blames himself, and when he does 6 months later its only a snippet of truth and I didn't say that fuck you.
Stuff that happened to Phil might not all be his fault (say a swatting), but then using that he's not doing himself any good by constantly talking himself up and egging people on.

The smartest thing he could have done was keep his head down, make a few friends in the youtube/streaming community, find his own niche.

Phil will never, ever be as successful or famous as once was because Phil's only claim to fame is that he was the guy who plugged his camcorder in, pointed it at video games on his TV screen and got popular because video on the internet was "new".

He was the MySpace/Napster/AOL of gaming videos. He was popular by default.

And I've got news for DSP: MySpace ain't coming back.

Let me compare him to a specific celebrity. In Germany we have a famous lolcow named "Drachenlord" or Rainer Winkler. His job is:

- Livestreaming, aka stare in the camera and drink some booze, talk shit because he is massively uneducated and let some copyrighted music play in the background (through his microphone) and get some "Barren" (kinda like bits) from viewers without standards.

- Let's Plays, with really shitty gameplay, boring uneducated commentary where he tries hard to be professional but obviously he is just an idiot who never left his village. But these videos aren't even monetized.

- Sell Drachenlord-Merch. Well, not anymore. But he hasn't sold it via internet, no no no. People bought it in front of his house. Some autistic people had really driven through the country to buy his shitty merch. Btw, his adress isn't known because of this "business" but because he yelled it in a video.

His mother left him a property with a house (she is not dead, just moved away from him. And his father died). The good thing for him is that he apparently doesn't need to pay any rents. However he needs to pay electricity (and internet and water, I guess) and so he owns the electrical-company a LOT of money since he hadn't paid for years. However it's difficult for them to even get any cent because Rainer is poor. Very very poor. For years. And there is no attempt in fixing this (well, with his lack of education, skills and talent this would be impossible).

Even as a lolcow he isn't really relevant for some years now. People rather watch the compilations of "haters", he got extremely lazy and boring (at least he had some energy and tried some formats in the old days) and making fun of him got kinda stale. Hadn't heard a Drachenlord reference for quite a while.

I have no flippin idea how he creates income. He should possess no money. Maybe from his livestreams but this shouldn't be enough. But he buys tons of food, gained an impressive amount of porky weight, has money for alcohol, sometimes games, obviously pays his [bad] internet. And for all I know he gets no supportive money from the state. This guy should sit on the streets or be in prison. But no, he goes on for years without any change. And I don't know how he does that, he just does it. I am certain he shovels himself a very deep hole because all he does is procrastinate his problems away until they bite him (like the electrical-company).

So where I wanted to go with this explanation is this: Even the most irrelevant, unlikeable, most stupid "internet-celebrities" can go on for years and years and years. And Phil is certainly not that irrelevant. Nobody watches his original content but he himself is not irrelevant. So there will always be some stupid people who finance his existence or he just find other ways to make himself float, even if the whole world hates him. The question of "how long will Phil last" is pointless.

On a side note: Even so Drachenlord is a german youtuber and his potential viewer base is much lower than Phils, on an average Rainer has more views than him. This is hilarious.

Remember when he got upset at low viewership and called his fans lazy when he was ‘busting his ass doing voice acting’ playing Pokémon? I wonder if he’ll eventually blow up and call fans lazy again for low subs.

I've always found it funny how much he pushes the "voice-acting" shtick for games that have lots of dialogue. Like when he went back and finally completed the last case of "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All" and then played "Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney", he felt the need to add "fully voice-acted by me!" to the description of every video.

Y'know, despite the fact that his "voice-acting" in those games basically boiled down to every male character having his normal voice besides the Judge (who is basically his Santa impression) and Layton/Luke (who both are given a stereotypical English accent). Every female is the same, with his regular voice, besides young females (who all have the same annoying falsetto voice).

As usual with Phil, he did the bare minimum and advertised it like an incredible effort/task.

It's a good example but Phil doesn't own anything, no one knows how much he's paid off on either property, but its safe to say he's paid almost nothing and only taken on more debt over time.

Once he fucks up those first bank payments, then that's it, because if he has to sell either property it'll involve having to take a significant amount of time away from streaming.

No streaming = no money, that's when the credit card companies and the bank come calling for stuff like his car. The same applies to any situation where Phil has to take more than a week or two away.

The only reason the bank was stupid enough to give him so much credit is because he could probably show his income level over time and it was likely based on figures which were massively higher than they are now.

And its not so simple to just decide you want to sell either property because it'd involve a whole lot of time away from streaming.

If I were him I'd be drinking more than he is.

Even if he sold his house now he will still be fucked in a few years. Its not like twitch offers a 401k or any benefits. He literally lives month to month. His biggest wale vidar kept giving less and less and now can only contribute on his patreon (which is dead. Goldencolts and jezal retired. His subs are way down I assume even his cult is starting to not believe his BS because if he was in that much tax trouble he wouldnt take days off and pay money for the soul maids new clothes and new phone and every expense to move her in. Good chunk of his cult also seems to start calling BS on his taxes, being by now there is no way he wouldnt know the final amount, and him needing a bulk sum is BS to the max because everyone is offered a modest payment plan. Its clear he over spent on getting the soul maid out to him

He will keep making less every month. And he cant even think of any worthwhile patreon ideas. Besides whoring out the new maid... "pay me 950 and ill make an 8 min vid of her cooking me a meal" great value there.... And he clearly will never be able to work a legit job. He is too lazy and worthless. Video games is enough hard work and stress on him, he would die if he worked 5 hours even as a cashier. No place would hire him anyway after a quick google search. So he is pretty much fucked in about 2-3 years, any money he gets now from idiots who think they are helping him is just delaying the inevitable. Instead of him selling the house now and then saving money from twitch he chooses to live beyond his means on a month to month basis

Im sure now and then Vidar still might donate 250 to the patreon from his monthly welfare check if it comes down to the final few days of being short of the goal. But other then that he even rarely gets big twitch donations anymore. Its rare for him to even get a $50 tip.

I'm still trying to figure out what DSP's "niche" is meant to be.

Popular streamers seem to either:

• Play one game/genre constantly
• Switch between games and play popular stuff most of the time

DSP seems to:

• Play random shit
• Quit random shit
• Complain about random shit
• Play fighting games rarely and then quit/complain
• Play popular games when they're no longer popular

The half of the time he forgets to talk about his kwality khommentary his self described niche is 'raw unedited khantent average joe pure gameplay'. Which is strange because snorting and acking over video game footage doesn't really fit the most obvious sense of 'raw and pure gameplay'. That would be the 'no commentary' youtubers that post ultra high quality footage of simple playthroughs with no voiceovers period. His style isn't really 'average joe' either since not many average joe's play games by rushing through hundreds assembly line fashion half the time stumbling around aimlessly and the other half being piloted as a meat puppet by a streamchat filled with a couple hundred degenerates and bots. The only sense he does fit in is the sense of being lazy and unedited.

I would say his niche is a personality/drama streamer/kahntent creator. Its not really about the games at all, in more ways than just him not really liking games anymore. He is less an AVGN, SSoHPKC and more an Onison/Kardashion producer. He's pretty much a reality show. Fans and detractors come for the flailing and the drama surrounding it. Video games just happen to be the most c0nvenient way to remain on the air for hours to earn enough money. With that said unless you're going to manufacture some drama of your own by trolling or infuriating phil its pretty dumb to get it from the source. Get your DSP drama in the nice packaged condensed form from kiwifarms and other detractor sites without having to sit through hours of deadair and inane boring commentary. Trying to 'save' phil assuming he isn't lying about his finances which he is, is also dumb since he's more boring and tends to cut back on khantent the more money he gets and the more he's shielded from detractors.
