All those people complaining about the office game love to ignore the fact that the game is developed by a diverse team of people (poc and lgbt) and the developers even stated that for the black characters not only were they not going to be aggressive, but for the characters they had gone to black and trans people for their input before releasing them, that and the characters were apparently based on irl people someone in the staff knew.

its kinda disencouraging as a content creator that writes “””diverse””” plots to see how quick people are to tear down a franchise the minute it features anyone that isnt white, cis or hetero because they are so hellbent on finding something wrong with it. The ironic part is that they give major blockbusters a pass, or stories that are exactly the thing they complain about all the time, but the second an indie developer or an actual minority creator makes content it has to be scrutinized to no end and nothing is allowed but the most squeaky clean, watered down conventional narrative.

Nah I'm perfectly aware of all of this, I'm an old school FE fan myself. Been playing since the early 2000's. I'm just one of those types who don't interact with other fans much, so the people I actively see being spergs are the new wave of fans that came with Awakening onward because they're the loudest.

I don't need to hang around other old school FE fans to know how elitist and r.etarded they can be. That comes with every long-lived fandom. I saw it like crazy as a UC Gundam fan too. So you liked a piece of media before everyone else. So what.

I do find the m.ilk here really interesting because I feel like it wasn't always this bad? There was always waifu sperging and shipping wank but this is ridiculous.

Yeah i can def see that. It looks like pretty shallow diversity and i can def see why they complain about stereotypes, thats an issue that pops up kind of per definition when you try to make something diverse kind of just for the sake of diversity without any real passion for what or who you are representing and its a bit of a shame. I’m just also concerned with over scrutinizing content made by often underrepresented demographics about their experiences and what they wanna tell being taken apart because they are an easier target thats more likely to back down than say Hollywood or some high profile author, its a worrisome trend for indie artists.

not really drama [that i know of] just dream daddy, but i saw how that game tried to be this hashtag-quirkyxD tumblr humor eqsue game and how the fandom hailed it as the most progressive shit ever and then hated it after a short while, so i suspect this game will see the same fate

They did complaint A LOT about Dream Daddy as well, even before it came out, yet the game didn't fall for cheap stereotypes. Still been called problematic cus SJW find everything problematic until it can personally represent each and everyone of them with only one character (so everything is problematic).
(fyi: Dream Daddy had a secret ending where every characters was part of a demonic cult; which didn't ended up in the final release of the game; and Tumblr went after the creators because apparently that made gay people look evil????)
I see a lot of complaining on AAA games as well, particularly RPG like Dragon Age (one of the worst fandom on Tumblr honestly), and any other games that offer virtual dating, especially for lgbt people (yes, they are sad people). Then you'll see the Tumblr posts rolling like:"don't date the gay character if you're not a gay man yourself uwu" made by some hypocrite girls who only went after all the male characters playing, like the fujoshi in denial they are.

He has a persona character who wears a pride flag shirt (I keep forgetting what kind), and on one occasion i saw a drawing of what i think was the guy irl slicing open his chest with his fingers or something and the caption said something about chest binders? I personally don't think the art is the worst in the world or anything, but there's a lot of sameface, vore, shrek, and sometimes awkwardly pushed-in gender/sexuality stuff (usually with the pride flag character)

That first link is giving me serious Rebornica vibes. It’s like a parallel universe where instead of quitting tumblr and improving their art, they stuck to fandoms, their art got worse and they decided to unleash their fucked up fetishes upon the internet.

What's hilarious is that the same fans who whine about the waifuism and thirsty weebs in the fandom will turn around and thirst over their favorite female character being precious gays. It doesn't help that the fans who started with the 3DS games have moved on to the older entries of the series, taking their fandom wank with them.

Not to mention the fans demand more PoC characters yet the only canon non white character they draw art of is Niles. I've seen more art black and brown washing white characters than art of actual canon PoC characters.

Real Asians aren't pale as snow or big-eyed at all. They are swarthy with huge flared noses and teeth to match. Their complexions are more similar to subcontinential Indians or Africans. They have a striking resemblance to the Nunsantara peoples or Dayaks.
