"Hey Phil, are you a scamming con artist?"

"No worries, I had a mutual agreement with Twitch that I won't scam people until tomorrow"

"Oh ok! Thanks! I was gonna send you the money today but I couldnt be cause there's a GLITCH"

Phil has the most intelligent fans who are not GAHHHLLIBLE

Not sure why this would get 16 pages. It's pretty obvious he made some trivial violation of Twitch rules and got the first warning like a lot of people suspect. He doesn't seem worried.

Its mainly because he has seemed to have immunity from Twitch punishments regarding his behavior. He's even made fun of people for reporting him and basically said they'll never look into reports because of how much people spam reports on him.

The recent Twitch ToS changes add a lot of wording about being "toxic" to streamers or other "groups of people" (someone talked shit on women and got a 5 day ban already). This kind of stuff wasn't really enforced before.

It's also possibly his second suspension, and if it is, it means he is one step away from a permanent suspension.

Also,
  • If he got suspended over his "fundraisers" that is going to be a major thing which stops him from being able to raise enough money to pay off all of his tax/debts.
  • If he got suspended for insulting someone, then he is going to repeat the same violation again in a short amount of time. Usually when someone asks a question involving someone that might be better than him (like "bigger YouTubers") he'll take it to mean Pewdiepie etc and go off on a 20 minute tirade about how they're idiots.
  • When something bad happens (like his girlfriend leaving him) he usually stays firm for a small amount of time before turning around and burning as many bridges as possible. People are predicting he will do the same thing to Twitch and when he does it will basically be him digging his grave a little deeper because he's simply unable to let sleeping dogs lie.
So if he ever does get permanently suspended, there is no way he is going to be able to get the same level of income he does right now with just YouTube. He will go bankrupt extremely quickly.

Based on his Twitter response, its possible that Twitch gave him shit about using bits/cheers with a monetary value attached which he may have proven.

Or he has successfully appealed the ban, which would make no sense for the channel to still be disabled.

I'd say he got a community strike and is just going to bullshit about it on tomorrow's stream.

even with a small violation now twitch at least is watching him to some extent. where now he cant go fully breaking other rules. now with tax begging etc could possibly be banned

We have been quite chatty for a few reasons. As Neger says, I think we always wrote off DSP ever actually getting in trouble with Twitch short of a straightforward Pewdiepie moment where he just rears his head back and says "NIGGER!" So we are now taking the chance to give our general thoughts around the circumstances of a ban.

There is an element of impatience to learn the reason (something we will be forced to infer anyways), and not helping that is the fact that news broke just about as soon as it happened.

22-hour news cycle. ;)

And also Twitch is basically his last resort at this stage. Even the 24 hours away (which he is using to get his taxes out of the way) could be a significant event in possibly making him unable to pay his debts off.

"safer than ever"

This ought to be interesting. I can't wait to see his arms flailing as he explains to us how him getting suspended was actually a good thing.

"Guys I've decided to quit streaming and find a job! Your reports are worthless now! Ack ack ack ack"

He should just stop streaming altogether to keep up the positivity, then. Why stop when the going gets good, you know?

I don't think they let you appeal a ban that short, although they might let you appeal to get it off your record so it doesn't count toward three strikes. I'm not sure of the mechanics of that though since no streamers that I follow are buttfuck stupid like Phil and get banned.

They do, but as you said it'd only remove the strike against your account. I think they take 2-3 days to investigate.

Its entirely possible he has won an appeal, but I honestly can't see that happening because there have been numerous instances of him really pushing the rules in the past 2-3 weeks.

Another thing not mentioned was the possibility of him being banned for bot viewers, which would probably be the easiest thing to appeal against because its the easiest thing for someone to fraudulently use to try and get someone banned in the first place.

I'm still very curious to see what his version of "better than usual" is. Maybe it means he's paid off his taxes or they were much lower than he was expecting, or he has somehow won an appeal and Twitch is going to continue to throw reports about his account into the trash can (which doesn't make sense because he can't upload emoticons without approval as a partnered channel, which can only mean he is not in "good standing" with Twitch already).

I might actually watch his prestream tomorrow.

This suspension thing is why I love following Phil's saga. Every time he gets high on his own perceived greatness and acts smug and untouchable, something comes along to smack his stupid ass back down to ground level. It's like night following day, and it's never not entertaining to see what new thing makes it happen.

I wonder if he got popped for bots or some other misdeed, appealed and won, and now feels safer because if it happens again he thinks twitch will disregard it like all the rest of the reports made against him.

I might actually watch his prestream tomorrow.

If this is your first time, bring strong sedatives. You'll need them.

I've watched plenty of them but after about a month I realized that it was just a constant thunderstorm, which even though unpredictable by virtue of being a thunderstorm was never anything else than a thunderstorm.

It's classic DSP deflection. He will call it a misunderstanding, and claim his account on Twitch is 100% fine, but it will be easy to deduce if he is fibbing as usual by how he acts and the things he says.

If he goes right back to being a total douche, he got it appealed. I think he'll do a half-ass job of being careful for about two days and be back to douchebaggery again, though.
