How edgy and full of angst must you be be to label yourself like that? I remember a video of his where he explained why he choose this tittle for himself. Something about taking other people's hate for him and making himself stronger. It was really over dramatic. He should just change his online presence to just "Phil", the whole "DarkSydePhil" or even DSP is just too stupid for a 35 year old person.

It even has far different connotations today than it did when he first adopted it (like 10+ years ago).

He even made a shirt apparently completely unaware of what "hate army" means to most people:

A lot of people have said he called himself "The King of Hate" because he took all the hate people gave him and turned it into gold or some stupid shit, but I'm not sure that's actually accurate because on Shoryuken.com there are numerous mentions to "Team Hate" which it looks like DSP was only a member of and not the creator of. I'm 100% sure I've seen him mention this from his Shoryuken account but the site is down right now:

So I really doubt Phil came up with the whole "hate" thing and instead just took it from some fighting game team.

The date of that link is wrong, its more like 2005. DSP was a part of "Team hate" and simply took the hate part and used it to make his "The King of Hate" name. He didn't invent it or anything like he has claimed (from what I see anyway).

He has survived, yes. But at what cost? Last night I heard him screaming again, in his room down the hall, here on the 3rd floor of the old asylum. He was never the same after The Incident. Poor soul.

Because the "dissenting" opinions where not wanted. If you want to be a wasp in a beehive the beekeeper will remove you. It's not anything more mysterious then that. Imagine a bar with live music where a band plays some mediocre music in the background, and people start booing and complaining about the band. That is more distracting for the guests then the music they have come to listen to. The question for me was why was some people so hellbent having to insert themselves in to a community where they didn't like the entertainment. It's not open mike night. You know exactly what is on the schedule. There is plenty of "good entertainment" you could watch.

You have to add to your comparison that the bouncers at the bar are pissy dudes who take pleasure in kicking people out of the bar, while the rest of the bar are throwing beers and calling people mentally ill. Then you have some old guy in the corner yelling about how he wants to smell the band's feet and other creepy stuff.

That is not a friendly and supportive community.

I disagree entirely. People have been timed out for asking innocent questions and providing criticism, Phil's response to that is either a ban or a time out. There weren't any "dissenting" opinions, just people who didn't think the exact way Phil did who got punished for it.

If you want me to use your example, well the sign outside the bar doesn't say "SHIT COMMENTARY WITH CONSTANT E-BEGGING". Phil promises good quality gameplay and all i get is him shitting on developers, viewers, constant talk about how his life of playing videogames is horrible and how he needs money but when he gets it he needs even more, horrible gameplay and abysmal commentary. Are you really that surprised people complain about it?

Not only that, if you try to disagree with Phil you have to word it in a way where you are kissing his ass at the same time so the moderators don't take action against you. There wouldn't be the levels of toxicity Phil has today if he wasn't such an asshole with his viewers, you should know more than anyone since i'm pretty sure most of the bans in his Twitch channel probably come from you.

The worst part is that his most "hardcoar fans" like you are also the biggest contributors to his downfall. You have supported that toxic behavior for so long that when the day comes where you can no longer support him (And it will come, i doubt 10 years from now you are still supporting him), what is Phil going to have then? Phil himself and his hardcore fans already pushed potential new viewers away by being incredibly toxic.

I said it before and i say it again, Phil's carreer is the equivalent of a zombie who refuses to accept it has died. The only thing keeping his business alive is him acting like an idiot for drama purposes, something YOU and all those mods have encouraged over and over again. The only people who had that kind of "privileges" in Phil's channel who confronted Phil about his issues were banned or just plain left.

No matter how much money you throw at him (Because i'm sure you still do), that will never be as valuable as having told him to not be an asshole with his viewers when the time was right. Maybe he would have been in a much better spot now if you had.

Might hit the :autism: key here several times with the lenght of the post but, it really baffles me that people think like you. Is like you don't want him to improve on anything.

See above answer. And unlike you who have the missfortune not to be able to chat in DSP chat. I cannot chat with anyone, nor access my PM or message system on twitch at all. And before that happened I hadn't been banned from a single channel except from one. Being banned from ONE channel in twitch is a non issue.

Myself, I live by the Bushido honor code. So when I said I wasn't going to watch his prestream after having said that I would, I didn't (notice my consistency).

I came back some time later and saw the autism carnival had already happened.

Was there a response as to why he would need to get a private limo to and from JFK if he couldn't get a ride? (For anyone wondering, according to Phil, he was told by his doctor he couldn't drive on the highway with his back condition because it could spasm or something).

I barely watch DSP outside Snort's videos, honestly, i don't even think i need to watch DSP at all because i know what i'm getting into.

Your argument falls flat on its face when you consider it from the viewpoint of someone who stumbles on DSP's Twitch Channel for the first time (And has no idea who he is). He is promised good gameplay with awesome commentary (By Phil himself no less) and instead he is hit with constant e-begging, shit jokes, drama and horrible gameplay skills.

If you are a business who needs people to come in to make money you don't tell your potential customers to go away, but hey, i'm not the one with the business degree here.
