He has to downsize at some point, and that downsize won't be fucking aquafina, it will be declaring bankruptcy and consolidating all of his debt. But its his life and if he doesn't want to do it, then the bank might force him to.

As I am sure most people have told him, the quickest way to fix his situation is to sell his WA house now. Home mortgage rates are climbing up which is slowing the rate of home sales. The higher the rate, the more people are going to have to pay monthly which will make his job harder. It would be in his best interest to sell now or the summer at the latest before "hardcore gaming season" when he has the time. That would allow him to dump a mortgage payment if he could break even and start working on his business loans with whatever excess money he has. He could have sold last year when the average was well below 4% on a 30 year fixed rate but he hedged his bets on being able grow his channel. It's now sitting between 4.25-4.5%. Once the 30 year fixed hits 5%, he is fucked. Mark my words that he will have a really hard time finding a buyer.

We have all suggested this though. If you bring it up to Phil he immediately blocks you on Twitter. Just ignore people with real life home ownership experience and business experience because "muh business degree."

The thing is, its so easy to save money though. Just move out the house, he only remains in it so he doesn't "lose" because giving up the house would be seen as a "failure" that he can't afford it. But he can't. Get an apartment, it doesn't mean he has to move back to CT, just get an apartment in Washington and sell the house. Fuck the whole "Oh in 3 years the price of the house will be higher and I can sell it for more!" excuse, he has to get outta there, it's not working out for him.

I'm not so sure of his reasoning for staying there, but he is delusional if he thinks he's going to be able to afford living in such an expensive city while riding out real estate trends.

Housing prices usually take years to change significantly, especially in areas which are as populated as Seattle.

His house doesn't seem like its the type that would be significantly valuable because its a fucking "gated community" so its inflexible to own one. There are much better and nicer properties people will buy before that kind of house. I know it probably appeals to some people, but the house (in and out) seems to be very dated in style. Its the most 1990s house I've probably ever seen.

Also keep in mind he's paying a small fortune (half of what a 1 bedroom apartment in Renton rents for) just for his internet access.

He worked his ass off for that house dood!

At this stage I'm beginning to think is proactively trying to fail so that he can pin it on his viewers and "detractors" because of his mindset, doesn't seem like he wants to do this shit anymore.

great interactive streams; rebuffing attempts from viewers to play COD with him, focused on..doing what he's doing..or something. Someone cheered with a lengthy message, can't read it because it's too long and he's focusing on the game.

with that kind of enthusiasm towards 'interaction' it's a mystery why nobody is *participating* :stress:

You bring up a very good point which drives my point home. If the current estimate on his property are correct based on sales in the neighborhood (https://www.redfin.com/WA/Renton/17505-110-Ln-SE-98055/unit-30/home/103951818), then he needs to start looking to sell now. The people that could afford the monthly payment are not going to want something that fucking dated. And even a married couple making $15 an hour each could barely afford the monthly payments if the bank would even give them the loan. I remember it coming out that his monthly payments were in the ballpark of $1100 a month but that was at the sale price of $265K. At $350+ with the higher rates, a person would be looking at $1700-$1800 at least. The dumb cunt needs to sell right below market value, take the profit to pay off his debts, and rebuild for the back 9 of his life. He won't though.

Dated can be good, like a house from the 50s-70s. But that style of house is really not appealing (to me anyway)

Someone needs to get it through his head that it doesn't matter how many "milli bits, mega bytes, mega fucks or whatever" his internet is, he'll never be able to go faster than the server on the other end will let him go. He can get the same thing done at a fifth of what he's paying now.

Its more about upload speed for Twitch and YouTube.
But he only has cable internet which is like 5x more expensive than fiber and 20x slower.

No doubt that it can be. But this is a clone home from the 90's (built in '99). If somebody is going to shell out $1800/month at it's current price with the current mortgage rate, they are not going to want that unless they either A) absolutely need a home in Renton, WA or B) are brick fucking stupid. One would go for a newer clone home or an older house with unique style for cheaper.
