He only dared smacktalk when the kid wasnt there... thats how a big coward he is. Even on the internet he afraids to face people...

if this happened to his best friend pewds, tomorrows prestream would be 7 hours of how stupid he is and why nobody should watch him. if he brings it up at all he will rant about how stupid detractors are for believing he would really hurt a child and they just want to get him into trouble over nothing. his contact at twitch said it was okay and the bitch deserved it !!

Phil didn't even make it one week before going right back to e-begging for donations.

The interesting point will be whether he is going to get in trouble for it now as it doesn't technically involved bits and subs. He may still get in trouble for personal fundraising though.

It still sometimes leaves me in awe of how clueless he is. Advertising his viewers get to vote for a game Wednesday after shitting all over what they voted for today. Oh and the taxes thing is really pitiful. Could sit here and pick apart all the inconsistencies, but fuck it. It is all bullshit and we know it. Didn't even make it a week before he went full panhandler, can't say thats a surprise though.

I just love the recent events around Phil. It feels like this:

What Phil thinks he does.

What Phil really does.

Some may say it was a disaster yesterday, but I highly disagree...

-He wasted everyone's time with boring gameplay
-boring commentary
-Got nowhere in DDLC
-Ragequit 3/4 games
-Instulted his fans for voting games
-Stopped the game and went on a banning crusade

.
.
.
This was not a disaster stream... this sounds like
a typical DSP streaming day.

What I'm curious about is if he'll get the true ending of DDLC if he decides to play it again (said he was considering it). From what I remember it's a little complicated to get the true end. So I'm wondering if he'll admit to reading a guide or having someone in chat tell him what to do. I mean he has to go into the game files and delete a file (amongst quite a few other things). If he magically knows how to do it, I wonder how many will believe him.

Every single one of his piglets will believe him because Phil is the realest most honest dude on the web

The taxes update reads like a parody a detractor would write, especially with the last sentence. Super pathetic.

Seriously,"help me stay in this amazing house I broadcast out of". Why does he think he should stay in a house he can't afford? If anything losing the house and moving into something cheaper would be the smart business decision. He acts like people don't move into cheaper more affordable homes every day. I honestly think this is one of the worst things I have seen him do. This 36 year old man living beyond his means begging people to give more to fuel his lavish lifestyle. It is distasteful and shows exactly the type of person DSP is.

As much as I love to shit on DSP, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt over the state taxes. The main intention of the taxes and much of the legal wording is directed towards people who make use of Washington and its residents to generate income.

The biggest problem is that the laws haven't caught up with the 21st century. So Phil is probably not alone in having some sort of "internet business" suddenly become liable for state taxes.

I do think he was aware of state business taxes, but I do not think he was aware that his "business" was liable for them. I also think its very plausible that in the event of an audit (which is what has essentially happened) that exact figures will not be forthcoming until the papers have passed under the eyes of a few people. DSP often talks about writing things off for tax purposes, so its very possible that the number of items he writes off make the federal and state taxes not be interchangeable.

However, if you're making money through cutting edge methods (and YouTube has only been paying out for about 10 years, so its still cutting edge) then you have to be prepared for situations like this to happen. The same things happened to many internet businesses because of changes or differing interpretations of the law.

DSP is still trying to use these taxes as something that is "unfair" but he really is never prepared. He wasn't prepared for the YouTube adpocalypse, he wasn't prepared for sudden taxes, he wasn't prepared to play Getting Over It when it was actually popular.

Being prepared is largely boring and not rewarding. Its the reason why most people choose a 9 to 5 job over DSP's "career". DSP is particularly bad at being prepared, but "being prepared" and having astute foresight is a skill that few people have. If it was easy or commonplace then everyone would be starting their own fortune 500 companies.

Neger, really. This is no time to be reasonable. I already sharpened my stake.

He has no lifestyle. He's just paying for bricks TBH.

Imagine how much more adventures he could get up to if he put those thousands towards doing things outside. You wouldn't worry about the building your living in, if you do fun things away from it.

He was actually saying his office is "too small" for streaming from yesterday. Mainly because he's too exceptional to figure out how to make his desk work for streaming and just like to sit in his loveseat.

Its kind of interesting that he's never reorganized his setup even once in the time he's been there. There's no experimenting with different stuff, as soon as he got all the shit in there, put up "da soundproofing" that was it.

I guess because I don't hate DSP on the level that I actually want to see him go broke, I'll entertain the thought of his current room setup with my supreme autism:

He probably can't see that "decluttering" can actually help to improve a lot of things and probably make his streaming a lot easier in the process. Save for actually experiencing interaction with humans on a daily basis, it would likely be quite a help to his situation.

And by decluttering I don't mean moving da loveseat 12 inches. I mean pull all that shit out of there, draw a fucking floorplan on some paper and then set it up again, starting from scratch. Get some second hand shelves or steal some of Leannas old shit and put your boxes and shit out of the way.

Go route the fucking cables across the edge of the room instead of having them all go across the floor. In his setup/tour videos he says he can't put cables around the outside of his room because they can't run that long. He doesn't even have to buy anything, so there is basically no excuse to not give it a try.

That's bullshit nigga:
  • Ethernet = 328 feet
  • HDMI = 50 feet
But I guess I'm being overly ambitious by pointing out that shit, because this is DSP and he's never going to do anything to improve unless one of his fans posts a detailed plan of how he can reorganize his space.

We all know that if DSP actually survives the next few months his streams will still look exactly the fucking same:

I know you generally try to stay neutral, but the whole reason DSP still exists is because his fans continue to give him the benefit of the doubt, when people should realize that benefit should be reserved for people who have a history of telling the truth and don't warp facts to constantly fit their victim complex.

As for the state taxes, yes he could be going through what would essentially be an audit, but I have seen this before. The state will send notice that you owe "X" and then to contact the office, etc to turn in documentation. They give you a number of what THEY guesstimate you owe and it's up to you to prove that figure wrong. He may not know the exact amount, but he definitely knows hows much they are trying/expecting to get. He could easily give that figure but won't so he can squeeze his paying fans constantly.

Plus, he said he had ALL the back taxes taken care of already in January and now it's: I still owe more on those, plus this, plus this. Any sane rational person after being hit for back taxes would sit down immediately and figure out his upcoming tax liability, I for one am not going to "excuse" his current situation when he was essentially performing tax evasion.

You make m-fing money producing "content" you are a m-fing business... the fool even writes it off at the federal level, so has no excuse at the state. Hell, he could just turn in his federal taxes where he estimates his yearly income of said business to Washington and he'd have a figure back in November.

I don't disagree that Phil stretches the truth (to an extent that is impossible to prove without paperwork) however the difficulty in casting judgement doesn't come from wanting to stay neutral but rather the way in which the laws are written. There's been a lot of speculation about stuff like "he's an entertainer, so he should pay the entertainer tax" which is incorrect (disclaimer: not a tax specialist)

The audit situation probably isn't similar to situations in which someone has underpaid their taxes, where a figure would be easy to arrive at. In this situation a "business" which never existed has come to the attention of the taxman 4 years later, so there probably are not immediate figures available.

The tax codes are written with the intention of taxing revenue/sales generated from businesses that are reliant on Washington. So even if you're a company operating in another US state, you still have to pay the Washington sales tax for customers originating from there.

Depending on how you interpret what Phil does, his business is not reliant on Washington as a place of business because his "customers" are largely not from Washington. The only way to get more clarification is for the tax codes to be updated to include what is applicable to people that generate income from YouTube and Twitch, by which time both websites will probably be ancient relics of the internet.

If you think anyone has a clear answer about any of this then take a look at this thread:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/t/sales-tax-approach-for-large-fba-sellers/290040/12

If you're any of those people, even out of state, Washington's taxman can theoretically knock on your door after several years and say you owe money.

If you're a normal business or you actually sell physical products, then its very easy to get a clear picture of things. But this is not a physical goods business and the closest thing in the tax code (income via royalty payments) says that the taxes aren't applicable unless the royalties originate from being "Washington famous". Phil is not Washington famous therefore its extremely difficult to know what the fuck the taxman will make him pay.

(none of this changes Phil still choosing to live in a hugely oversized/overpriced property and his spending habits)

EDIT: does he seriously have his loveseat positioned so that it blocks a fucking cupboard?

I think that alone shows what an autistic manchild Phil is but psychologically it shows how unacceptable to change and development he really is. He wants to live back in 2010 where he was somewhat impenetrable but that really just shows his utter fear.

Part of me as a decent human being wants me to believe him on the tax scenario but the evidence collector in me just calculates it all and we have; the 2016 2k holiday, the headphones lol, the begathon leading to soulmaid. The fact he cleared 100k and has nothing to sort out his hemaraging debts.

Compare that to one of the most popular streamers around. DrDisrespect.
