Agreed. Instead of waiting for the uploads he could make thumbnails. It's not even hard to do it, it takes minutes or even seconds because they can look like however he wants.
Tier 1: Some of the most popular youtubers have a simple screenshot (search for a good capture that should look promising in your thumbnail) with bland text.
Tier 2: Some have no screenshot but the game title and only change the episode number on the thumb
Tier 3: And the fancy ones are with screenshot + changing episode number
Tier 4: And the most fancy ones have additional artworks
Phil can't even accomplish Tier 0: Black background and shitty text from MS Paint
Yes, its true i could imagine that phil is a beginner, but he's been in youtube for over 10 years. The best titles are "Troll send me more Tips or Who made the Cardboard. If this was a prank or a experiment I can understand this.
But for his methods, it is rather disrespectful and largely dumb.
The problem is even his largest supporters are running out of money to give him. He's jerking off his viewership dry, and he doesn't seem to understand that.
It's one thing to expect them to float you a few grand on one rare occasion -- but expecting them to give you thousands of dollars every month for the same issue is ridiculous. At that point you seriously need to start reevaluating your financial decisions/plans for the future. But instead he thinks everything will be okay if he keeps hounding the same 300 people for money every single day until god knows when.
And instead of cultivating new growth through shit every other streamer does (branching out with his content, doing collaborations, interacting with his community, etc), he thinks it's a smart idea to put the shit his fans actually want to see behind paywalls so he can squeeze even more shekels out of them.
He's always boasting about his business degree, but it's obvious he has no idea what he's doing. Reality is going to smack his ass hard when he defaults on that first tax payment.
This right here sums up Phil perfectly. Phil is a guy who held his begathon in December, made $10k that month, and thought "sweet, I have $10,000 now!" like it was just money that he had in his pocket to spend on whatever he wanted. He never invests a penny back into his business apart from buying new games. He never sets aside any money for his bills or debts or taxes, he just sees the money in his pocket and thinks its his money. It's his business' money, and there's a subtle difference, one that Phil can't seem to understand.I completely agree. Phil isn't concerned with actual growth, he is only concerned with money.
I wonder how many people comprise the DSPhere, all sides considered. 100,000? The SoK started getting 1,000 on stream in 2017, and dozens of thousands of video views. Other commentary riffers or mirror channels all punch above their sub counts views-wise.DSP doesn't make headlines (besides that one time when he masturbated). The minor "fanbase" he has is just supremely dedicated for some reason (:autism.
Re: his main sources of information:Because in Phil's world his gaming PC was a failure because it couldn't simultaneously play a graphic intensive game, record AND stream. Since his main source of information is the WWE Network and he knows nothing about the thing that he makes his money off (video games) that means that the 20 million steam users are not just people on toaster PCs but privileged people who are able to afford master race PC gaming rigs that can play games, record and stream at the same time.
Lack of interaction with the wider society, or even his chosen subculture. He follows 68 people on Twitter, zero on Instagram, zero on Twitch, barely reads gaming articles, and admits to never watching YouTube videos.
Phil doesn't like Reddit, is scared of Discord, only reads GameFaqs for walkthroughs, and hasn't posted on SRK (or any forum) in 10-15 years? He'd be laughed off SRK if he tried to return, of course. Going by DSP threads on 4chan /v/ he has a small cult of ironic followers there, but do you think Phil even knows what 4chan is?
We have discussed with no resolution the idea that the absence of organized trolling and a 30,000-to-50,000-views podcast is the reason he has seemingly gone into overdrive the last six months. The reason 2018 has been the best Phil season in years is because organized trolling has pretty much dead.

Phil only has 25,000 Twitter followers. And not-fantastic engagement. He can barely get 100 favorites on tweets. Drgnkiller gets more buzz. (Good job blocking 1/10th of the userbase, you obese Steve Shives!) Also, 6.5 million lifetime Twitch views. This megathread mindblowingly has 7 million views now, almost 5 years after the OP.

"Gaming PC" The kid probably got her parents old laptop. Phil was a computer enthusiast, guyz.a lot of the good stuff lately has been generated by phil himself. He never stops generating lolz. Is jealous cause a 11 year old girl has a gaming pc. Says he would pimp slap a 11 year old girl. Random youtuber Elpressador makes a drama video. It just never ends with Phil.

I think that indirectly, it has.We have discussed with no resolution the idea that the absence of organized trolling and a 30,000-to-50,000-views podcast is the reason he has seemingly gone into overdrive the last six months.
Keep in mind that repeat viewers and non-member clicks are going to be a huge factor here, think of how many times you visit or refresh this thread and multiply it by the number of regulars. He's a sideshow attraction where a lot of passersby will look at. I'm sure those guys hear through the grapevines what he's up to.
@neger psykolog @Null How many views does this thread get on a daily basis?
I can't use the toilet because of my back problem ACK ACK ACK.What's with all this paper on the floor? Do you have a chow or something?

I agree in part, but DSP's smug reaction so far is great in showing what kind of person he is:

This coming from a guy that just ate his first strike not even a week ago.
If he actually ends up getting suspended again over the "11 year old girl saga" then it will be a true festival of autism. How someone who so dearly relies on Twitch for money can be so smug... well that's DSP being DSP.
I know Phil is a bumbling idiot most of the time, but do you think he chose to do vr chat cause he figured something would come up that would cause controversy? Like with his WOW stream? Like he'd figure one of his trolls would mess with him that would cause his paypigs to donate for his feefees. He wouldn't have expected an 11 year old girl would be the one though.
