I'm not Nostradamus
Knowing that would mean being able to tell the future.
I'm not Nostradamus and I don't know what someone is going to send me or post on here at any time.

Just sit back and enjoy the shit show.
I don't understand him either, which is probably a good thing. If I'm reaching I'd say it has something to do with MUH 10 YEAR LEGACY. Phil sees himself as a Youtube pioneer, and the day he gives up on it is the day he admits that the platform has far, far outgrown him. So he'll continue to shit on it and make out like one of the biggest brands on the planet, owned by probably THE biggest brand on the planet, is going down the pan, but he'll still cling on. Because to let it go would be to admit defeat in his autistic little war against the world.I just don't get his thinking. He says Twitch is his new bae and YT is his side bitch. Yet he still does shit to make sure he gets monetized. Muting music in GTA for example. Which just made that playthrough so fucking cancerous that I stopped watching halfway through.
So DSP spent 3 weeks playing through GTA:SA (a game he's already played before)
Now he's going to spend another 2 weeks playing through Bully? (a game he's already played)
This really doesn't strike me as making much sense, especially since he's in a bad place financially.

Phil's a funny creature. He's insanely greedy, but also very egotistical and lazy, and it's like those three sides of his personality are constantly at odds. He's got no shame in begging for change from children to pay his fucking taxes every single day, but when streamers with 10 times his audience ask to do a collab, basically giving free marketing, he won't do it because their fans might laugh at him, and he'd have to play Monster Hunter World which is complicated.
OH MY GAH DOOD! I DID NOTHING WRONG! WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO CHANGE!?I think he doesn't quite get that reputation when it comes to "celebrity" is not something that people usually cement.
Actors that keep to a legacy are called "type cast". Think of any actor or celebrity who kept doing the same shit for years. It doesn't pan out that well because it becomes formulaic and boring.
If he's never going to change his name to something less exceptional than "the king of hate" or change what he plays and how he plays it (like multiplayer for starters) then he's never going to pay off those debts.

I think he's self sabotaging. I don't think he consciously knows he is. But I really think he's unintentionally making shit decisions that are setting himself up for failure so when he does fail it's not his fault.
Now, you could say ''but his fans voted" which is true but Phil made the options and also played a 'losing' game again like he did when he vetoed Dynasty Warriors.
Plus, SA wasn't an overly popular replay and Bully is another Rockstar game right after it?
It's just odd. Same with playing DDLC when nobody cared about it and his refusal to play other meme/popular games while they were/are popular.
If there's a logic here that's not trying to fail forward I don't see it.
Alternate possibility: He's stupid.
That thread is just begging to be locked.
Also, he could've saved time if he just said "I don't play Nintendo games because they get claimed all the time and i can't make money off them, which is something i need right now". (Even though he could attract an audience on Twitch).
That statement alone would've painted him as truthful and would also at least give him some pity points with fans but instead he chooses the least convenient toxic approach to it by bashing Nintendo and it's fans non-stop and then being smug about it.
The decision making of this man is just horrible jesus christ.
Maybe I'm crazy, but there are FIVE upcoming Nintendo games that I doubt are showing up anywhere else: Kirby, NMH, Mario Tennis, Smash and Octopath. You have a platformer, crazy Japanese action co-op, cutesy sport title, competitive fighter and an RPG. In what reality does one focus ONLY on the ports coming to the system? Also why is his forum viewing things only through the lens of "will this make Phil money is he streams it. . .?" How asinine is that. Dark Souls on the go could potentially move as many units as Skyrim on the go.

Why else would he play? He sure as hell doesn't play for the love of gaming or streaming.
This would be a great opportunity to go back and revisit some of the games he passed over when they were new releases in favor of other, more popular games.
Or have a month where he only plays games that have a reputation for being bad, unplayable, or broken. If you're playing a game cause it's bad you don't really need to finish it.
But what do I know, my major was English.
Nah I really get the feeling he deliberately wants to get out of doing this shit at some point, and he probably knows the only way to do it is to fail. But Phil being Phil means he will probably never admit personal failure, so if he sets himself up to fail without realizing it (being self destructive) then when it happens the failure won't be because of him. It'll be someone else's fault.
He's an only child & has no children. I bet he's gonna get an inheritance from his folks of some size & that's what he's banking on to survive post streaming. Just a theory of mine.
