Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Will we ever lose track of Chis? I know he is not super mobile. But it seems soon that his internt will be cut off, and if that is so, might there eventually be a "Chris black hole" where we do not know what he is doing?

My question is, is there stuff we don't know about?

Probably everything and anything that Chris will refuse to tell the truth about.

We still don't know the identity of the "abusive babysitter". My guess is that it was either Barb, or the television set, but only after Chris somehow pulled it down on himself while his parents were out barhopping.

Well this seems like a good thread to do my first post, so I apologize if its long. These are questions I've had sitting on my head for 3+ years now about him. *sigh*

I know that Chris is aware of the dangers present from doing drugs and alcohol, because schools in the south love to preach about temperance and like to blanket everything labeled as a 'drug' (from certain anti-depressants all the way to heroin and meth) as having the same negative side effects, but do you think Chris is aware of what they can do to relationships?

Chris said at one point that alcohol causes bar fights and stuff, but I don't think he knows what alcohol does to the body mentally, only physically (ie. alcohol interferes with the pathways of communication of the brain).

Do you think the only reason he hates tobacky, cannabis, and (formerly) alcohol because of what he's heard from church and school, or because he has first hand/secondhand experience with being around it? His great grandfather was drunk after all.

From what I can gather from what Cole said, the babysitter was probably some self absorbed teenage/young adult girl who only wanted money for 'watching' over this random kid so she locked him in a closet with toy, not realizing that children at that age need attention, even if its just you being in the same room with them.

If Chris can remember that clearly about something that happened to him when he was a baby then I can't really blame him for shying away from the question. It probably tramatized him and negligence in itself is a form of abuse in a way, especially since I don't think Barb took him to daycare/preschool, the first place that most children get to interact with other children their age.

Chris says its bad because 1) cartoons told him so and 2) it doesn't interest him, so he doesn't care to devote any brainpower to understanding it. Chris doesn't really think he needs to have a reason for liking something or not. If he decides it's bad, it's bad. Assuming he actually thought about the facts of the matter and made up his mind assumes WAY too much.

Chris doesn't clearly remember the name of the woman he swore to love forever, or the specific insult he's angry about in the middle of telling you he's angry. Why the FUCK would you think he remembers something clearly from an age when few people have coherent memories of anything?

Word of advice: it doesn't pay to overestimate Chris. The sooner you stop trying to apply logic to his life, the sooner you start to see the underlying patterns in his stupidity.

Welcome to the forums.

I forgot a question because I'm slow in the mind. *sigh*

Why was Michael Synder never included in the comic?

Also the comic was already up to book 8 by the time Snyder kicked him out. Had the comic continued, Snichael Myder might have made an appearance, but for the time being, he was a small fish.

I briefly wondered today if Chris ever got out of his legos long enough to hear about the atrocities in Ferguson, whether or not he'd point to it as justification for his assertion that the Cwcville police would have and use tanks.

True, but never forget Chris' ability to turn a slight (no matter how little or imagined) into a full blown grudge. I kinda did expect him to make Snyder the lord of all trolls in the comics.

I think he suppressed the grudge because he always assumed he'd get back into the PLACe eventually (where Lucas, Mimms, Megan, and all the rest would be waiting for him after all these years)

If he'd continued the comics, I don't doubt Snyder would have become the Big Bad. I'd also like to have seen Sailor Megtune's turn to the dark side. No doubt it would have been a subtle and nuanced change.

He'd be more likely to hold it up as another reason to hate the damn Jerkops, like that thing on police corruption he linked to on FB.

I think that would be another reason he'd include him in the comic. Chris believes in his own brand of shamanism and sympathetic magic, so drawing himself defeating Snyder and triumphantly returning to the Game Place would be a way to insure it happen in reality.
