I'm still betting on them running out of cash first. I'm a student and I certainly don't have the money to be shilling out dozens a month in superchats, even if I wanted to be spending it on that kind of thing. Maybe some of their fans are older/richer than I'd expect, but it seems unlikely to me that this cash flow can be kept going forever, especially if it's being split between several hosts.

At least part of it is image-crafting, given that he constantly claims he voluntarily left academia to be a stay at home dad (something that would seem progressive and get him asspats from certain people) instead of being forced out for inappropriate sexual conduct. But there does seem to be some strange obsession about it that goes beyond that.
