When he disables them I just have to download, reupload and then come back an hour later to grab them. So instead of it taking 3 minutes, it takes me 10 minutes.

His disinterest in SoT is unsurprising. SoT is not a traditional narrative driven game that you are actively responding to. The game provides the backdrop, you need to paint the scene. Same with Burnout Paradise. . .Phil lacks the creativity to interact with a game where it isn't immediately obvious what the "point" is.

Yeah, if I reupload the video I get subtitles. It's obvious now that DSP is trying to stop this from happening. Its a bit of cat and mouse because I'm not sure you can actually disable the auto-captions preemptively, you have to wait until they're generated and only then can you delete them. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this on YouTube. So Phil is literally waiting for the subtitles to generate and then deleting them manually.

Just so people know how easy this process is and so they can use the same tools if they want to for other YouTube channels:

That's actually the "complicated" method I started with. However the program is old and has issues with some unique URLs that aren't formatted like old YouTube video URLs (the software is quite old and auto subtitles have been around since 2010).

Here's the fucking super easy method that takes even less time and doesn't require any scripts or macros:

• Click "open transcript" on the YouTube video:
  • 
• Toggle timestamps (I remove them because that's the way I put them up):
  • 
• Copy/paste and then convert EOL to space (converts end of line characters into spaces, so it isn't 500 lines long but one single line):
  • 
• Done:

That's 100% a lie. Detractors dedicate 100% of their time to Phil because they sit in their mom's basement, with no job at all, are total ugly losers and try to destroy DSP's business to compensate their tiny dicks. I refuse to believe BoredSluggyshPhil does some active tasks. On the other hand this would be some kind of "anti work" because it only backfires... and Phil fucks up everything he touches, like an Anti-Midas. Yes, could be Phil.

There are no prestreams with faulty subtitles. YouTube tries for a bit and then will give up only if it really, really can't do it. As long as the audio is even of poor quality, actually has words, doesn't have two people talking at the same time for the entire video then it will generate subtitles.

DSP's prestreams are basically the perfect usage for YouTube's auto captioning. The last time he tried this shit I dumped all 672 prestream videos in his prestream playlist. 671 had subtitles and only the one he'd removed it from did not.

There could always be a case that on some rare occasion it has issues with his videos, but then they wouldn't work when re uploaded. Long story short: he is actually deleting the auto captions because of whatever reasons he has.

Its worth understanding why YouTube does this in the first place and why the auto captions do not fail easily. It's not some altruistic thing to help hearing impaired users, its so that they can build a profile of what was likely said during a video:

• They can help users to be able to search videos by their contents instead of just titles
• They can then detect keywords which advertisers like or don't like
• They can then profile what words promote engagement or actually make people stop watching videos

That's why there is no real competitor to YouTube yet, because not even the Nielsen rating system or any other conventional audience profiling is an in depth as what YouTube does.

It's even more annoying when you see that it's already getting poor reviews for it's lack of content, and expensive price. It'll be interesting if he keeps up this schtick of him being the only honest guy in the room. My guess is that the "biased reviewers" are going to be changed to the streamers who"scammed" and "overhyped" the game. . . or something equally torturous to maintain his point.

Pretty much, now the question is what other game is going to make him ragequit, this guy is getting worse by the week.

He pretends to have a “business” of playing video games and from what I can see he’s his own employee and he’s extremely bad at everything “business” related (which btw it’s called BUSINESS only when he wants it to be a BUSINESS)

Anything is possible when it involves DSP but I really don't see why he would even lie or why she would even care in the first place. People have ex girlfriends, boyfriends and non-conforming genderqueer friends.

I guess its possible that he didn't mention the whole engagement saga but really even if he did or didn't I'm not so sure she would care. This is the exact kind of question someone would send into one of those advice columnists, or the modern day version:

Unless someone can show evidence that YouTube allows default deactivation of auto captioning, which I cannot find, then this is what DSP is doing:

• Uploading his prestream
• Waiting for it to finish uploading/processing
• Waiting anywhere from 30-60 minutes after to manually remove the automatic captions (captions only get generated after the file is actually live, unless its extremely short)
• He only seems to do this if I haven't yet posted the captions
• He only does this with prestream vidoes

This is exactly the kind of inefficient back-end YT Channel management that Phil complains about taking up so much of his work hours.

It won't stop your detractors from using what you say in them against you, but you can at least stop PROVIDING us with so much material. What benefit do you even gain from posting them? They do garbage for viewership numbers, they fuel the detractor flame, and you are clearly taking extra time out of your day to remove the automatic captions from them, now that you know NP is archiving it.

You know what job wouldn't require you to have to deal with this all these extra back-end steps? Literally anything else. Go flip some burgers and pay off your taxes, you fucking dunce.

I don't think he should stop uploading them, but I do think he should re-enable comments, get rid of 90% of his website and twitch mods and set a dumpster fire to get rid of the problematic people on TKOH and his streams.

If he just left all the videos up, with open comments, he'd get hella more money from people trying to fight each other via YT comments.

All of this time and energy he has dedicated to "proving the detractors wrong" not only doesn't work and will never work. It also just results in him losing more and more money. Stuff like disabling YouTube comments completely gets your channel deranked rapidly, but he will do that instead of just letting a bunch of spergs have slapfights in the comments.

He'll never change, he has never changed and as a result of that this thread will never stop growing at a rate inversely proportional to how much money he makes.
