Here are the reasons to keep comments enabled according to the article:
  • It fosters a community on your channel.
  • It enables discussion about the topics at hand.
  • It gives you criticism you can use to improve.
  • It gives you ideas for future videos.
  • Video engagement is a big part of the YouTube algorithm.
  • Disabled comments seem like you’re hiding from users.
Considering he's uninterested in any valid criticism, community-building, discussion, new ideas, or engagement, I guess it makes sense from his perspective to just shut that whole thing down.

He went through youtube comments and delete a lot of them back when they were enabled, with people getting shadow-banned. I mean at least he had something to do for an hour rather than waiting for the auto-generated subtitles being ready for getting deleted.

I am glad Rambo is doing well. He is actually really funny its more how awkward and dry he is which adds to why he is funny. We know Phil looks at dragon killers twitter so I hope Phil is "happy" to see John is doing well.
