  1. Rebecca knew the woman who raised her was infertile
  2. Rebecca, knowing this, thought she would be too, meaning she still thought this woman was her biological mother
  3. she didn't know the truth until she was 30
so somehow she knew that her mother is infertile and, even well into adulthood, was somehow not able to figure out that her mother was not her biological mother? like, at no point did she question how an infertile woman gave birth to her? is she actually retarded?

Honestly, if it's been like 10 years and your high school boyfriend or girlfriend is suddenly reaching out to "catch up" then you'll probably correctly assume they're looking for a hookup. I could see "no one's as special as you" just being a single guy's attempt at feeling out whether his crazy ex is still dumb enough to reward cheap compliments with sex.
