Isn't somebody like DSP the reason an algorithm picks videos for you? This shithead uploads 30-40 videos a day like do you really want all that in your sub box along with another 20 videos from your 99 other subs? Like it's shit for the guy that uploads 1 video a month and nobody sees that video, but yeah phily boy not all subs need to see your content all day...

plus yt means nothing to him anyway so why does he care? his new videos don't make him anything it's all extended profit from older series that actually showup in search results. If he doesn't upload to youtube for a month, I doubt he will see much decline in his adsence, maybe $10.

[2018-03-03 00:00:58 UTC] tastytreats19: @randytoosavage I'm 14, I don't really have money
[2018-03-23 18:50:32 UTC] tastytreats19: I seriously have zero interest in the redemption streams, i've already seen all the original playthroughs
[2018-03-23 19:04:33 UTC] tastytreats19: man I miss his co-op streams with rambo

I mean it's not impossible he is being legit but his timeline seems shaky. Like what 14 year old looks at all his old playthroughs that aren't "This Is How You Don't Play" edits? What 14 year old is like "Man the good old days of John Rambo" when they'd be like at the start of elementary school? The story of a fan waking up is one I definitely want to see, and if I'm to be bold I'd say other people would want that too. But everything he puts together is too convenient from his complaints to his suggestions.
Sounds like a 14-year-old who's trying to fit in and be cool like the older kids. I bet he's had sex like fifty times with a bunch of hot chicks and one time he smoked a pot.

Its not only the number of videos, its also the content of those videos (words/length) as well as YouTube looking at which videos actually have user engagement, they can tell who actually clicks notifications and who doesn't.

A lot of the Content creators are whining about this on Twitter, but afaik their views never really dropped hardcore. Instead they received demonetization, which is a separate issue.

And almost all YouTubers don't seem to realize one critical thing about this. YouTube's current competitors aren't other video uploading websites, they're sites like Facebook, Instagram and Netflix which are all trying to get adspend and money (Netflix not directly, but you get my point).

So this isn't YouTube vs YouTubers
Its YouTube vs the competition

If they send 600 notifications a day because someone like DSP is dumb then its because they don't want users to get bored of the site. DSP is the exact reason why they need something like this to begin with.

Anyway, even if there was a competitor DSP would never use it because he's too lazy.

That's quite some fanart. Even my avatar looks slightly happier.

This is exactly what I've subjectively noticed as part of how the Recomendation Algorithms work. When you post up 40 videos a day and your subscribers don't watch any of them each unwatched video pushes you further down the list until you are gone. In the case of DSP having 40 NEW uploads that go unwatched for over a day basically immediately kicks you off the Recommendeds list of anyone who didn't watch those videos for 1 day.
YouTube's goal is to get users to spend as much view-time as possible on their site. Even YouTubers will tell you the best posting method for channel growth is to post 1 daily video that the people who watch your videos will watch ALL of. Don't post a video that you think most viewers won't watch the whole thing. Having however many videos where he's silent, yawning, complaining about how bored he is uploaded to YouTube is terrible. . .like YouTube sees people clicking off these boring videos you upload and that makes it so that even if you watch some of his videos you won't really start getting recommended very many of his videos as the engagement algorithms know you upload boring videos that no one wants to watch Phil!
I started watching a channel that is narrating old comics as a slideshow of the panels plays. I watched one of this guys videos and instantly had 5 showing up in my recommended feed because the algorithms know that people who watch 1 of his videos: Are watching the entire 20 to 30 minute video and watch multiple of his entire videos after that. I find it extremely funny that YouTube recommends me his videos from THEKINGOFHATEHDVLOGS much more persistently if I watch a video from that channel than if I watch even 3 full videos off DSPGaming, in which case it still doesn't recommend me a single one.

YouTube is getting a lot of shit over this because most content creators are dumb as shit but Facebook and Twitter use the exact same system.

If you follow people you don't automatically get every single fucking post they make on your feed. You get a mix based upon how much you actually interact with them. If you want to receive every single update, then you have to change the notification settings for that specific person. Otherwise your feed would look terrible.

That's why YouTube has the bell feature. If you use the bell you get every notification, if you just sub, then you're just basically "following" them.

Youknow what may be worst... Not that Phil conned all of his supporters with the tax scam, but Kat might know that he did this to move her cross country... if thats the case, and shes ok with that... then shes just as big a piece of shit as Phil is.

I said in a previous post, Phil may have let slip that Kat is in debt as well (maybe something they bonded over  ). When he was responding in a huff to someone asking, about his own statement, that having Kat there contributing would be a huge relief on his financial burden and he said that, "No, she has her own stuff to pay for. Yeah, she'll be helping out with the bills, grocery, water, energy but those bills will be an increased amount for 2 people so I won't see a difference. She has her own stuff; She's an adult, adults come with their own stuff, phone bills, DEBT. . ."

Even though he was speaking generally today's conversation had it occur to me, "How much debt is she in? What if Phil had promised to pay the interest on her debt during the 2 months she was moving and jobless?" She clearly had almost zero money when she arrived. The only thing she's bought was a replacement PS4 that she spent her tax returns on, so even with no bills or rent with Phil paying for everything she couldn't afford to purchase it until she got a check from the government for a few hundred dollars.

Good morning fellow London & EU worthless humans. I awoke today from my secret erotic Phil-dreams and stretched as I threw back my custom King of Hate sheets & slipped my feet into my nice warm philslippers.

I toddled into the kitchen to make a hot cup of tea from my $400 Philomatic Coffee Machine with deluxe pot noodle dlc, remembering to stop by my eldritch altar to Slowbeef and feed the venomous salt toads.

Then I checked my diary, and yep-- a whole busy day of obsessing over, agonising about and plotting the overthrow of Phil, Gout be upon him.

From now til lunch, I will be taking things out of context, with a short break for checking on my twitter based propaganda machine. I'll have a huge bowl of authentic Italian bitchsauce with burned meathunks and copious amounts of..... pepper.

Then a full afternoon of hating Phil whilst furiously masturbating to a photo of John Rambo in a silky dress being sodomised by Rudolph Hess. I must remember to co-ornate with my contacts in the French Fill Hating Guerilla Movement across the channel. Around 4 I will have my special cup of hate tea and roll my special blend of Girl Scout Hate, Sour Hate, and Lemon Jealousy weed strains and settle in for a 4:20 five minute rage at Phil's success and riches, weeping that unlike him, I will never know the touch of a terrified woman fleeing from abuse even worse than that in her strange future.

Then I will get drunk on high fructose corn syrup and self-loathing, shout at my mom and weep myself to sleep, here in this basement, where the sun never shines and all you hear is the tell-tale ACK ACK Brrruuuuuuuup ACK of his hideous heart.

Hopefully my tugboat will come in overnight and I can pay my protection money to Viking. so he won't out me as Fred Fuchs. WE ARE ALL FRED FUCHS.

Agreed if Kat knew about this and this con because it is franky she is equally as much a piece of shit as he is.
Knowing someone would do something that deceptive shows your lack of morals to be shockingly low.

On an additional note he is not going to play ni no kuni 2 for long as it is one of the most streamer unfriendly games this year. Lots of dead space with no voice work and a very dated combat system. Its a great game but not streamer friendly as you need to be a good voice artist or chatty to fill the silence. He is going to drop audience like a mother fucker.

I can't believe his videos get around 90 views, nine-zero.... Meanwhile Snort Burnell and Tevin are getting closer to 20,000 views, does this man not realize his kid-brigade is outnumber 100 to 1 by people that hate his guts?
Doesnt have to be people that hate him. Im sure his fans probably watch because Snort's vids (tevin isnt my thing) are actually quality kahntent.

Like shit, the guy behind the account puts solid effort into the edits.

Maybe RAW, unedited kahntent isn't the way to go?

Not necessarily, he just has to be smart about how he does it. He should stop the cutting into 10 minutes and upload 2-3 hours videos, but he's too stupid to realize this.

DSP said about 5 months ago that he wasn't going to do reviews anymore because it "wasn't worth it". I'm pretty sure numerous people told him to just review it live on stream and upload as a separate video but I don't think he ever did this until Sea of Thieves.

The Sea of Thieves video he uploaded, and left comments enabled on has 10k views right now, which is his most viewed video in quite some time.

A lot of the comments are actually from non-detractor people who might actually subscribe to his channel or pop into his streams.

I think the two things that really shot him in the foot were firstly censoring the shit out of YouTube comments and then completely disabling them. If he just let the farm animals run wild he'd be getting a lot more views.

I remember at some point while he was still with Machinima towards the end he said that he asked his contact what he should do for more money/views and he was told that making 10 minute videos is the best way but then basically right after that he got fired or "quit". This is of course not the best way to make money/views since that would be to have long form videos with likes/dislikes/comments on and encourage people to engage in your content so was Machinima a detractor after all for telling him that?

You nailed it with this one. Phil is basically the human equivalent of those spam marketing articles that were just full of random keywords to artificially push them up the Google ranking. Google specifically changed their search algorithm a few years back so that kind of shit wasn't pushed up the search ranking. Phil is the king of black hat SEO. The reason he's failing is because his business model is based on 10 year old SEO practices that were changed specifically to avoid people like Phil abusing the system. Instead of adapting and altering his practice like any professional would, he just sits and bitches and says Youtube doesn't know what they're doing. No Phil, Youtube knows EXACTLY what they're doing, which is why your spammy garbage isn't prominently featured anymore.

The comedy gold is still that he insists that he's changed dramatically because he went on Twitch. He hasn't changed a single fucking thing and still waits for his fans to tell him what to do rather than try shit himself.
