The best part is when he repeatedly shares pictures of a random guy's foot, because symbolism!

I swear, Comicsgate is giving us some prime sperg :story:.
Everyday it's a new sperg, we might have to start keeping count. Let's see if CG can surpass GG.

That guy kwanza is the stereotypical, ignorant “woke” black twatter. Is his first name really Kwanza? His last name is Johnson.

I know black people name their kids stupid names but come on. Naming your kid after a fake black holiday?

Devil's advocate: I think Kwaanza was just trying to make the Wakanda Forever crossed wrists gesture with one emoji, and thought "eh, close enough".

Kwanza isn't his real name, he chose to call himself that.
Actually, turns out I was wrong about this....his parents really did that.

Putting aside "Why can't pros be professional?" part of all this, I'm not sure which argument is sillier between saying it's wrong to look at Diamond's estimates on books shipped out when they essentially have a monopoly on it or saying "It was all part of the plan" when some diversity replacement fails which undermines the mystery sales of the former and the rhetoric about "representation" being important.

Asher Elbein tried to make a hit piece on Ethan Van Sciver for the Atlantic at the behest of one of EVS's harassers, Kieran Shiach. Ethan called in the Editor in Chief and they slapped that hit-piece from seeing the day of light. For more details check: http://nickmonroe.blog/2018/02/12/on-ethan-van-sciver-and-comicsgate/

Asher is back and making another hit piece, this time for the Daily Beast. Ethan and D&C were interviewed. Since Ethan still holds a grudge over the original hit piece, he made mock answers for the interview that Asher is doing. He made a video and leaked the interview questions to Bounding Into Comics.

CG is actually more interesting. The comics fans are by nature a bit older, better read and more literate amd well spoken than the typical Gamers and it shows in their materials. It is much harder to demonize them. While the Gamer's did have a broad spectrum going back 3 generations it is far more weighted to the 20 and 30 somethings who's approach to communication is X-Box Live shit talk. The comics fans are more weighted to the 40 something family types with well established careers, lots of life experience and a broad swath of actual real world skills. Whereas the comic industry is mainly, to quote from D&C "20 something childless losers" with no real life experience, no real ability to be literate, well spoken or well presented, and little understanding of how economics works.

Probably the most fascinating part of this is with CG the fools in the industry are trying to follow the Anti-Gamergate Gaming Press strategy. They someone never connect that in GG the press was a one off. The Gamers only had an indirect economic influence on the Journalists, as the actual economic relationship was between the Gamers and the Devs/Publishers. The Gamers needed to go to the advertisers to effect the gaming press. (Which they did, extremely succesfully). That's a slower process. Whereas with Comicsgate? The idiots are insulting the people that directly buy their product every month. That give them money. And would you look at that, when you call them racist sexist homophobic transphobic murderous nazi's a few times they STOP GIVING YOU MONEY!. And this happens very very fast. (Just ask IDW). Comicsgate ends with the destruction of another hipster soyboy jobs program and a bunch of pretentious starving artists and tumblrina's trying to find another way to fund their self diagnosed gender confusion.

It is amazing how they haven't learned from GG. They still think they can make the public at large buy a narrative that isn't that compelling to start with and instantly falls apart under any kind of scrutiny, in a medium where the customers are indeed, as you say, older, more experienced, and more photogenic whose refusal to buy a product that is doing everything it can to alienate them has lead to them losing their jobs... and these are not vanity "review" jobs, or vague "activist blogger" jobs, but actual had an office at Marvel jobs..... it's astounding.

"I can't stand the fact that I'm getting called out by actual non-white people, so I'll just pretend that they're all really white people!"

Dude was so desperate to look like the blackest, wokest guy on Earth, that he just picked his name by looking at a calendar. It's would be like a Jewish guy changing his name from Chaim to Rosh Hashanah.

There is an analog for that if you count writers for the Bleeding Cool or sites like CBR who then feed more mainstream outlets the "Oh yeah, Nazis hate us for trying to diversify our products and reach out to new customers" narrative. They're kinda irrelevant outside lazy reporters assuming they're credible sources and not surprisingly, people have a habit of changing their tune if you actually show them pages from these books or the unprofessionalism.

It's really weird how much Ethan van Sciver wants to become the Diversity and Comics of Star Wars/"SJW" media in general. He just traded some info on Kurt Eichenwald to Mister Metokur to get his channel plugged and his titles/thumbnails are kinda embarassing. Too much thirst, imho.
Associating with Jim is a weird move.

The only argument (apart from REEEEE ALT RIGHT DRUMPF SEXISM TRANSPHOBIA) he had against ComicsGate is just him claiming they don’t buy comic books in years. Rest is just him trying way too hard picking a fight with D&C.

If he wants to be taken seriously, he should at least post his comic book collection.

Zack attracts Lolcows.
Gotta love how his "pro tip" really just shows his utter lack of understanding of grammar and the English language. "I, a [descriptive word]" is a perfectly acceptable way to structure a sentence since you are including parenthetical elements to an already complete sentence. As in I, a Kiwi user who has studied English, am demonstrating this now to show how exceptional this "lol who says 'I am a black'?" is when it's clear you didn't even read the sentence correctly.

Stretch before you reach.
