TGWTG "Nostalgia Critic" / Doug Walker, Rob Walker, Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, Holly Christine Brown, et al - The Incompetent Predator-Protecting Upper Management of Channel Awesome, Doug Still Not That Funny

I know I'm a bit late to comment on this, but with that whole Jewwario tribute video controversy, I honestly wonder what AngryJoe's position is, considering that the dude made such a big deal of it back then and yet to my knowledge hasn't made any comment on the recent shitstorm.

Boy, wouldn't it be awkward if that video was Joe hamming it up at Michaud's request because he was a popular uploader?
I mean I don't think even Pissed Pedro is that scummy, but the way this is set up seems suspect.

I change my vote 90% sure it was Amazing Atheist. Though I'd hardly say he was "prominent".

Funny enough, I was thinking it was him. He fits the criteria really well: a former producer who worked on the site for well over a year. He already has a well established bizarre sex life, and there's been plenty of accusations and evidence over the years that he might be a predator. It isn't helped by how he acts about the subject of sexual predators.

He didn't contribute to the document in question, and while there might be some debate about him being a "prominent producer", regardless he was a well known YouTuber who's presence at CA was talked about a lot.

Could very well be, but AA is much more well-known on youtube, so referring to him in the past-tense as a CA contributor without mentioning how he still has a large presence elsewhere seems kinda weird to me. Besides, the dude has come under fire from SJW-types for a long time now, so only bringing it up when all this CA drama is going down rather than during the numerous AA gaffs is something to also consider.

I assumed that anything sexual-related would have been Ellis, but I guess the specification of "producer" here kinda throws that out.

lmao okay wow. i definitely had no idea who this JesuOtaku lady was. Sheesh. it's almost like everyone from CA is a basketcase or something.
Well, it's a community of creators who spend hours upon hours of time to film themselves mugging into a camera about irrelevant cartoons, anime, movies, and video games. And from there, most of them liked to play dress up and act out skits that only their mothers and their gaggle of brainless middle schoolers fantards enjoy.

Now take that heaping pile of social ineptness, and put it into a pressure cooker of catering to said fantards for about 3-5 years on average, all the while barely getting paid, and having to deal with having such sterling personalities like Michaud and Ellis Skypebombing them at 3am because they're raving jackasses, and ruminate on the fact that they'd allow said jackasses to hold them by the creative cajones.

...yeah, CA contributors are/were Judas Priest Turbo-fucked.

AA is a charmless fat incel without a single charismatic bone in his body. It would have to have been someone who was handsome or at least funny enough to attract a bunch of awkward teenage girls out of their confort zone.
Someone along the lines of doug walker could be the creep, He loves to inflate how he was admirers in his video's (The Lorax, Princess diaries etc) and, lets be honest, isn't the most autistic, gross sperg on the site. But as someone already said, if it was him, multiple people would have already spoken out about it, and he's also a mega cuck and a coward.

Perhaps they did that on purpose? While they want to bring the subject up, they possibly don't want to name names in the event of getting into a legal fiasco. Also it could possibly out the anonymous person revealing this information. Saying that the suspect continues to maintain a large presence elsewhere would almost directly put the spotlight on Kirk given his large following compared to other CA contributors.

Aside from AA, what other contributors fit the build? Todd in the Shadows comes to mind given all the stupid shit he has said, but the time frame doesn't match-up given he just recently departed from CA. On top of that, I don't think anyone would of allowed Lindsay Ellis to participate in this document given her and Todd's history.

Here's another one: is it perhaps Bhargav? I remember it's been talked about that he got canned after bragging about banging Lindsay. While he was an executive, he was also a producer who created his own show on the website. He was also involved in Nostalgia Critic and was prominently involved in that series.

So the culprit is a semi-good looking and not completely spergy former contributor whos letting go was at the reluctance of the higher ups.

Well, it depends. Does anyone know how long was it between Spoony breaking up with Scarlet and him being fired? Also I don't believe we ever got a reason for their breakup so.......

AA has some interesting views on the age of consent as it is. I mean we're talking about someone preying on girls 18 and younger. And it was someone who was fired so it can't be Doug. And someone who they don't want to name because he may still be popular elsewhere. I guess Spoony isn't out of the question either but given how pussy-whipped he gets its hard to picture.

The contributor doc is fascinating. Though I was amused that Lindsay's reason for leaving boiled down to "They didn't pick a side in GooberGrape."
Probably one of the few wise decisions Channel Awesome management made. It's hard enough to take Doug seriously with those #WTFU videos, let alone him trying to make parse something like GG out.

Didn't Andrew Dickman also have some kind of scandal?
You mean aside from being linked to Phelous and thus being axed alongside him and Lupa?

Dickman is another one that fits the build. He has his own thread here where the OP sums up why he might be the culprit in this. On top of that, according to the wiki he did work for them for over a year.

The more I look into this, the more I discover that almost every male at CA has had some kind of a sex scandal.

Damn, Tim Heidecker really let himself go.

My favorite part of WTFU is how Doug was the only American, in a video talking about American law. IHE and YMS are British and Canadian, neither have fair use as a defense.

I think it's dickman, seems like a creep to me, it wouldn't shock me honestly.

BREAKING NEWS: For the first time ever, Channel Awesome is responding to criticisms being lobbied their way.

On all their social media platforms, CA put out a statement in response to the document being released today. It's of course one of the worst attempts at PR control, and they are getting chewed out over it on the comment sections on both the Twitter and Facebook posts for it.

This whole thing is so obviously phoned in. Literally the entire response can be summed up with, "Nuh-uh!"

The memo states that the company "respects [their] producer partners and strives to create the best possible environment for everyone." Uh-huh, and how many of those producers agree with that? This whole thing is like a band-aid on a brain tumor; it's not acknowledging the problem in any way and doesn't say how it's going to actually fix anything.

Also, there's that one line, "But criticism that isn't a means to a productive end does little for either the party criticizing or those in the line of fire." So in other words, none of the horror stories that the former producers have been releasing over the past week are constructive and therefore not helpful, okay. Considering everything, they have no right to be saying shit like that. This line also gives me the impression this was likely written by Michaud, since he stubbornly never admits what he's done wrong.
