I can see it going the same way as SFF: insular and impotent. Dominated by a few genre-specific publishers and generating zero interest outside of hardcore fans. The odd mainstream success will generate more interest, but very little of that will trickle down to the rest of the community.

Not gonna lie, I don't really understand how people like Michelle, Mags, or Tamra have a leg to stand on in their own arguments. Being trans is literally the only thing separating them from the white straight gatekeeping "dudebros" they characterize others as.

Hard time believing their peers aren't aware of it on some level. They probably push those thoughts back with "They just want to divide us" but how more convenient can that be? As a result, their shitty work gets even shittier, and then they're out of a job when their book gets cancelled in less than a year.
