Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I've missed a lot of info about teh rental home situation, but I keep seeing bits of infro strewn around threads. My question is:

Is it known when State Far, siezes to pay for the rental home? And if so... When is it?
Are you asking when State Farm stops paying for the rental home? Next month or two. Though if they do end up doing work on 14BC, they might get an extension or something.

(Edited for spelling, because wow)
I've heard September 22 tossed around quite a bit, although I believe that's because "the end of summer" has been a descriptor. Regardless, they'll have t find somewhere else (short of a miracle, of course) before the end of the year.

Chris is probably very lonely. Yet he doesn't really like talking to people. Is it because he doesn't like talking, or might like it but just can't?
Like one of those things that he'd be happy if he did, but just never has done before? As in "talk" I mean a give and take conversation, complete with laughter, compliments, and reciprical interest between the two participants

Chris is lonely, but not too terribly lonely. As far as socializing goes, Chris cares a lot more that he has an uncertain future. He doesn't like having an uncertain future. He does not like nor does he dislike talking to people. He is capable of talking to people. He's bad at talking to people. Overall, Chris has talked to people a lot. He's bad at it though.

So he can initiate conversations with Cute Girls again?

Chris' ideal world, even if he doesn't realize it is one where he has reasonably regular social contact with friendly people approximately his age for a specific reason. It is why he idealizes high school and loved going to the GamePlace so much.

He is lonely, not because he doesn't have close friends, but because he has no social contact whatsoever. He would find close friends unpleasantly overwhelming. To use your terms, he is lonely because he has noone to chat to, not because he has noone to talk to.

I've been looking at myself in the mirror lately, and I've come to the conclusion that my life, as odd and relatively uneventful that it is, is at the very least more fulfilling than that of Our Pet Lolcow, unfortunately. At least I work on my social skills and problems. At least I make an effort, regardless of whether or not it will guarantee success. At least I have meaningful relationships with people.
Word of advice, don't judge your life against Chris'. Unless you want an easy win it sets a terribly low standard for yourself.

Lol. I was just rereading Harry Potter, and it made me think of this.
Chris in high school seems a lot like Peter Pettigrew at Hogwarts. For Chris, the Marauders gang he became a part of ( James, Sirius, Lupin) was sort of like the gal-pals. It doesn't really say in the books, but I get the sense James+ Sirius kind of felt sorry for Pete and liked the admiration he gave them, even if they didn't really consider him a true "friend". I think the gal-pals treated Chris in a similar way too. Also, if any Voldemort was ever going to go after the gal-pals, and Chris was their secret keeper, Chris would spill the beans right away.

Have you seen any of his videos? Now imagine he's out in public, a little stressed and uncomfortable and he sees a potential boyfriend free girl. Add in his inability to read social cues, his obsession for childrens toys and games and his lack of a mental filter and you have someone who's every conversation is awkward.

Actually, iirc, the Marauders did regard Pettigrew as a real friend. There was definitely an element of pity, but James and Sirius really did regard Pettigrew as a friend, which is why the rat's betrayl stung Sirius so much (in Prisoner of Azkaban, when Pettigrew protests that Voldemort would have killed him if he didn't spill, Sirius angrily tells him something like "then you should have died, as any of us would have done for you!"). I doubt the Gal-Pals would have trusted Chris with anything as remotely important as the secret of the Fidelus Charm.

A recurring theme during the Kacey calls is talk of Chris going to job interviews. Sometimes it seems like it didn't happen, like the time he couldn't remember what happened during the interview but could remember the exact details of things weens said to him the same day, but the way the job interviews are a recurring topic, combined with Chris' relative inability to keep a lie going (for example, he tells Kacey to give him a break for running five minutes when a few days before he claimed he ran for 45 minutes), would suggest that perhaps job interviews did happen. Is there any information available on whether or not he did do these job interviews or if he really was lying to Kacey the whole time?

Occam's Razor suggests that Chris was lying to appease Kacey.

I see. Well, let me address your signals accordingly,

3. I was RECYCLING, until I had learned otherwise from my gal-pals, so I had stopped over a year ago.

I'm hazy on the Christorical timeline, but which gal-pals told him to knock it off?

How is he bad at talking to people?
Just listen to any of the audio conversations. There's a lot of them at this site: www.sonichu.com

Ivy or Blanca or whoever was his fake heartsweet. Gal-pal seemed to be more of a generic term back then.
