TGWTG "Nostalgia Critic" / Doug Walker, Rob Walker, Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, Holly Christine Brown, et al - The Incompetent Predator-Protecting Upper Management of Channel Awesome, Doug Still Not That Funny

This whole thing is so obviously phoned in. Literally the entire response can be summed up with, "Nuh-uh!"

The memo states that the company "respects [their] producer partners and strives to create the best possible environment for everyone." Uh-huh, and how many of those producers agree with that? This whole thing is like a band-aid on a brain tumor; it's not acknowledging the problem in any way and doesn't say how it's going to actually fix anything.

Also, there's that one line, "But criticism that isn't a means to a productive end does little for either the party criticizing or those in the line of fire." So in other words, none of the horror stories that the former producers have been releasing over the past week isn't constructive and isn't helpful, okay. Considering everything, they have no right to be saying shit like that. This line also gives me the impression this was likely written by Michaud, since he stubbornly never admits what he's done wrong.
"How about an actual apology?"

"We'll try it both ways!"

BREAKING NEWS: For the first time ever, Channel Awesome is responding to criticisms being lobbied their way.

On all their social media platforms, CA put out a statement in response to the document being released today. It's of course one of the worst attempts at PR control, and they are getting chewed out over it on the comment sections on both the Twitter and Facebook posts for it.

Wow. They suck at damage control.

I mean think of all the people that put together all these complaints in a 69 page document! That is a lot of complaints and if you have that many people saying that shit is wrong then maybe you need to consider that the way you've been doing business over the past decade has been actually detrimental to your success.

I didn't see if this had been brought up yet, but I think this is new;

Anonymous: I personally have not had any issues with anyone on TGWTG but my boss was Brad Jones' handler at a convention. She was alarmed at how flirtatious he was with underage girls and how rude and dismissive he was of her. She was assigned to help him, she didn't ask to be there. She had never heard of him before then and wasn't at all impressed by him.

This whole debacle can best be illustrated in this clip. Just replace "Homerland" with "Channel Awesome".

Wow that apology is crap!

'Sorry you don't appreciate our genius!'

Also, CA of all people are complaining about unconstructive criticism?
And I can guarantee you that there are probably a few dozen CA loyalists who have had the prickly wicklies for the past few weeks who will be assuaged by this cheap bandage. "Thank goodness! It just turned out that dozens of people who had first hand experience with them were wrong!"

I didn't see if this had been brought up yet, but I think this is new;
Considering Brad's string of partners who are largely college-aged women, even after he's entered his 30s, it's kinda unsurprising that he might be skeevy tbh. Kinda makes me wonder what drove his past girlfriends away from him, but that's a dark road I don't wanna go down

So tell me Mike and/or Walkers, are you going to actually address the bullshit you pulled and fix them? Or are you going to continue it and have nearly everyone drop off at this point?

Ah fuck it, you all know the answer to that one.

I honestly put that aside because he is one of the only good contributors on the site production-wise. But really, I wouldn't be surprised if this were true.

Didn't he have a huge blow-up with someone in his circle (Jake?) who was macking on young girls?

What if that was misdirection?

A little off topic but considering it's about Channel Autism I figure it fits. Sean Fausz, the Epic Fail Guy, wasn't he supposed to be dead of a heart attack or something? Or did he just have a heart attack because of his enormous weight but he survived?

Wow, Andy Signore got removed from Honest Trailers only days after the accusations against him, but Channel Awesome took their sweet time just to churn out this terrible "apology".

That's because of the Twitter storm that took place and the 69 page document documenting Mike and the Walker Brothers shitty attitudes. It's an attempt at damage control.

Christ, this reeks of the Shaggy-style "It wasn't me!" type of horseshit. They got caught with their hand stuck in the cookie jar, and now the best course of action they could take was to make a sixteenth-hearted attempt to worm their way out of the crosshairs aiming at their heads.

It's on the same level as the "apology" Fred Fuchs gave when all those leaks exposing the Sons of Kojima came out. The only difference? Fred was an autistic faggot who served as the self-proclaimed leader of a group of autistic faggots making fun of another autistic faggot. Channel Awesome...well, they're about on the same level of spergery, but they're supposed to be a professional company that's run by, like, a legit CEO.

I also like how it very heavily implies that all the dozens of former contributors are somehow to blame for no longer being part of the cool club that Channel Awesome clearly is, what with that "distanc[ing] ourselves from people who were particularly callous" line. Oh, no, god forbid someone hurt that lisping, cancer-ridden fuck Michaud's FEEWINGS!!!!

In fairness, Signore had more serious accusations leveled against him and he was working for a website owned by a media company with ties to Viacom; not the owner the way Michaud is.

I don't think Mike is aware of the saying, "If all the people you meet are cunts, then maybe, just maybe, the problem is with you and not every single person you meet."

That document consists of a shitload of former producers, at least several of which were some of the site's biggest draws. The fact that the site managed to piss people like Linkara off should be a massive red flag, but nope, they're just being callous.
