No. 1 Hit song on the day you were born

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Mine were Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music" (US), "Dancing Queen" by ABBA (UK/AUS/GER), and KC and the Sunshine Band's "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" (CAN). Not bothering to post the videos. Why yes, I was born in 1976 during the disco craze.

It's also really disconcerting to see some of the other songs listed here, especially the ones that were hits when I was in high school or even college. I'm getting to that age where I'll be telling kids to get off my lawn pretty soon.

Some shitty Duran Duran song. If I would have been born a month earlier it would have been Purple Rain, but NOOOOOO mom just had to get knocked up a month late.

Or you could have come out a month earlier! Don't be blaming your mum for this!

That Venus song could be great, if only the opening chords weren't so annoying.

On the one hand, it makes sense (I'm Canadian, she's Canadian). On the other... I really wish this:
was still number 1 so I didn't have to associate being born when a Celine Dion song was big.

(upon looking up further information, that song was indeed No. 1 in Canada on my date of birth. Small world, huh?)

Also in that "I swear" video, I feel that white guy looks like a young version of Chris, only more well-groomed.
