SJW Art and Extremes

Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

despite the fact many of these people are weeaboos who rip off their style
The style is so common with a lot of variation in it, so I don't think it's always "ripping off" or "weeb" to draw it.

But yeah, if a person who happens to be white does it, a SJW could think of it as [buzzwords for discrimination].

But I think the people of Japan don't mind. They adapted the style from Disney in the first place.

Awww, but they look so cute for an "artstyle choice" that no one should be fucking really emulating anymore! But hey - whatever, forgive me as I'm just looking for some actual raw effort and prowess, as well as no BS racism, behind fanart worth collecting, please and thank you.

i gotta admit, they actually made him look COOLER
granted more of a rugged monster-ish look as opposed to this nerdy straight-outta-the-big-bang-theory looking ass

art is 10/10, accuracy is none

I think this art is quite cute, actually. The style is nice and it’s very well colored. Pleasant!

The only two problems are, like a lot of stuff here, the characters would look better as just being ocs. Also I hate the insistence to try and stylize prominent leg hair.

Shave or don’t, that’s fine - but for cartoony styles it’s very easy to just make it look unappealing . Cartooning is all about visual shorthand, and extraneous details like that end up cluttering designs AND drawing too much attention, because your audience is wondering why you bothered to put it there. I consider it in the same vein of why drawing good-looking stubble is so hard.

That's the part I just dread noticing.

EDIT: I mean, I don't mind the plump look this artist went for, but the leg hair just looks too much.

Reminded myself of the appearance of Adam in the Oscar-nominated short "Adam & Dog", whom, while having body hair of sorts on his chest, legs and arms, it doesn't quite distract from his overall design itself, which in my opinion, was adequate and as accurate without overdoing it (such as lack of actual pubic hair in those regions). Looking back, I suppose it has a very SJW-friendly approach but it doesn't seem all that distracting to me.

i agree, when youre going for a more cartoony style, some details are better left omitted or simplified way down. our society's biggest accomplishment will be figuring out how to simplify leg hair
the thing that bothers me most is the faces, not only do they look identical and are making the exact same confusing expression that, im not sure what emotion its even meant to convey, but theyre also just weird and off looking. its prob the massive eyes and weird lower jaw

other than that i really like the artstyle and coloring style, its really pleasant and cozy looking

yes lol
she seems especially obnoxious on her twitter
Thought so. I recall she kinda skyrocketed to Tumblr fame because she made a lot of her Adventure Time/Kate Beaton-knockoff art at a time when Adventure Time (and by extension the noodle limb style) was at the height of it's popularity, and a lot of it also happened to revolve around Marvel Avengers and The Hobbit back when those were still big.

She was also the one who started The Hawkeye Initiative as a completely legitimate commentary on "muh male gaze" and totally not a paper-thin excuse to draw her favorite character in sexual poses:

Last I checked her last major project was working as a storyboard artist for Wander Over Yonder and a Marvel Runaways soft reboot that no one liked or remembers, but after those got cancelled she's been sort of meandering.
