Disaster Man ‘team-killed and virtually teabagged’ female journalist during shocking in-game rampage - boom headshot

A developer’s career is under threat today after he ‘virtually teabagged’ a female journalist during a demonstration of a video game.

The unnamed man was showing off a demo of his game at the conference Pax East when he killed the woman and then squatted up and down on her dead body.

This is known as ‘teabagging’ for its similarity to a sex act in which a man places his testicles into another person’s mouth.

Although this incident took place in-game, a complaint has been made to the man’s employer which could have disastrous consequences for his future.

The virtual teabag scandal was highlighted by Mike Futter, a games journalist, who tweeted: ‘Friendly tip for devs showcasing games: don’t intentionally team-kill a journalist and then teabag them… especially if she’s a woman.’

The journalist who suffered this simulated sex act appears to be Amanda Farough, a self-professed feminist who once worked for Mic.

She tweeted: ‘I said out loud, in my headset, “And this is why I hate playing these kinds of games”. Thanks for the demo.’

‘Now, granted he thought I was his “dev buddy” by accident, but holy shit was that a mistake,’ she added.

‘No PR around. Just dudes showing me a game and rolling the dice on being rude.’

Farough then said she would be writing to the developer who made the game, although she declined to shame the person on Twitter.

‘No one is naming names publicly,’ she said.

‘This is being handled privately and gently. It was an issue of professionalism and nothing more. The hubbub was a PSA and reminder that this is unprofessional behaviour. That’s it.’

In the sensitive and politically correct gaming industry, a complaint like this could be enough to get the man fired.

‘I hope the fact that you didn’t take their shit totally shattered their weekend,’ one of Farough’s Twitter followers wrote.

‘I hope it did. Hubris soaked frat boys,’ she responded.

I remember back in 2014, /v/ made an image where it showed the timeline of girls and video games on the super mario bros starter screen.
it predicted that by 2016-2017, women would say that being killed in a game is practically being raped.
if I can find it I'll post it here later.
Lo and behold.....
https://www.thecut.com/2014/08/even-in-fantasy-women-cant-escape-rape.html
In March, video-game writer Kim Correa described being virtually raped in the multiplayer zombie apocalypse game, DayZ. Correa says DayZ is a ruthless survivalist hellscape in which players will kill one another for a can opener. Nonetheless, her treatment by a pair of male strangers was startling:

“[O]ne of them made a comment about how I was a girl. One of them said that he hadn’t gotten pussy since the end of the world. He was pointing a gun at my face. I made a disgusted noise over my mic and started to back up and said his friend wasn’t sure if they should kill me or not. I called him a sick puppy. He said that unfortunately for me, he was into necrophilia , and that he wanted to rape my dead body, and then he shot me.”

After Correa’s screen went dark, the two men made moaning noises at her over her headset while she yelled at them. It’s not clear what in-game, post-apocalyptic advantages these two men acquired by humiliating Correa. But they did get her to put down the game for the night. “I definitely don’t want to say what happened to me verbally is as important as if it had happened in real life,” she later told WNYC. “But it means something. And I’m not sure what it means.”

Why, Exactly, Are Colleges So Bad at Dealing With Rape?
One thing it might mean is that women can never totally shed the vulnerability that comes with their gender, even in virtual realms. (Although the GTA V rapist targeted men, his victims seem mostly amused, not shaken.) The problem of fantasy rapes — different from a rape fantasy, though not mutually exclusive — is not new, nor is it unique to state-of-the-art multiplayer online video games. A 1993 Village Voice article described how a “Rape in Cyberspace” destroyed the community that had arisen in a proto-Second Life “multi-user dimension” or MUD. The perpetrator, a young man on an NYU computer who went by Bungle, wrote a script that allowed him to attribute actions to other members of the MUD, like “as if against her will, Starsinger jabs a steak knife up her ass, causing immense joy.”

This is considered journalism. Kill me.

Also I had no idea teabagging was still a thing, that's some classic stuff. I used to do it cause it was funny, especially cause it pissed people off.

Virtual rape is just as bad as real rape and we should take it seriously.

The guy made a mistake and thought her character was his friend's. So it is essentially much ado about nothing and she should have let it go. It wasn't a personalized attack on a womyn journalist by the patriarchy. It was an honest mistake. It's not worth REEEEing about because the guy may get fired or at the very least get his social media bombarded by angry dangerhairs with weight problems.

I like how rather than get upset about the teamkilling like a normal person would she's chosen to cry about the guy crouching up and down on her character's body afterwards instead.

"Well you did murder me but what's REALLY offensive is your poor pantomime of a sexual act afterwards."

Truly an individual with their priorities in order.

lol what a whiny fucking faggot.

“Also, if you see me, and i look dazed, please just hug me and tell me it’ll be okay.”
These journalists are such a cliche, the only thing missing is a Tumblr story about how she put him in his place and everyone stood up and clapped.

Now this is interesting. The account for the game appears legit.

So if there's no option for team killing and the footage is older than PAX, who's telling the truth here?

Really makes you

Without evidence it's a he said she said matter, and I believe the polite devs over the screeching harpies any day. But it's the fact that the grand design was to lie about being teabagged in a videogame for victim points that gets me.

Also I actually saw the video earlier today. The game looks super interesting.

Gaming journalism is still a profession? What's next, professional epic fail?

I guess CWC created a whole new world, where doing stupid shit on the internet is your job! Though this is not much lower than being a journalist so it was not a big downwards step.

I hope they name him. Here's the thing: Game Journalists are fucking irrelevant. They are less they are irrelevant, they are widely mocked in the gaming community. Nobody, absolutely nobody, uses them for purchasing advice, takes them seriously or actually give a fuck about their faggot dissertations about skimpy female armor or representation in games. Let me reiterate: Gaming journalists are a bloated appendix, an evolutionary endpoint that will eventually be excised because they are useless.

Daniel Varva was called a bigot, a misogynist, a racist and a bully. His game was blacklisted from review sites and largely ignored by the gaming press. You know what that got him? His Kickstarter game selling more copies than Wolfenstein 2, a AAA title.

If you have a quality, or even a half-way decent product, it will sell, especially with bad exposure from Game's Journalists. You know what I do? If they say something is good, I tend to ignore it because 1) Its generally good, so they serve no purpose 2) Its some indie shit game about trannies or diversity or 3) Their dwindling salaries have been buffed by a AAA studio to give the game a good rating. The ONLY time I pay attention to what they say is when they say a game is bad or problematic, which means its too complex for their small minds.

You also have to remember a large majority of these so-called journalists are English and Gender-studies majors who couldn't find any other job and don't like the medium. In the past, the press were enthusiasts, they genuinely loved games and playing them and you could count on them for decent reviews, because they talked about gameplay. Now it gets a bad grade because it doesn't have enough niggers or women or trannies or faggots in them. Who gives a fuck? Also it seems no one is fighting for Asian protagonists, so I guess they've gotten the privilege of being white.

The fact that they think they have any power is fucking laughable. The only thing the publisher will do, especially if they understand the market, is issue a half-assed apology and do nothing. Because Kingdom Come: Deliverance has proved that the gaming press is utterly useless. You can black-ball a game, call the creator the worst things in the world, and it will still sell amazingly, beyond any shit coverage they can do.

Here's a challenge: Have a major gaming outlet cover a game for a week. Wait a week. Have the top twitch streamer cover a game for 25 minutes. Which will sell more copies? (Hint: It isn't the gaming outlet).

Can we just drive every game journalist off a cliff? It's like they salivate at the thought of sticking it to devs.

Its because they know they are irrelevant and are a few years away from being out of a job. The ESA conducted a survey and found that only 2 to 3% of people who buy games do so out of games journalism, and this is vastly decreasing. Most people who bow to them have the same progtard politics. And those that don't, it truly doesn't matter. Time and time and time again they've been proven to be irrelevant and completely out of touch with their consumer base. More studios are realizing this, hence Bethesda blackballing outlets because they know nobody gives a fuck and it will cost them nothing.

Journalists are completely at the mercy of the publishers. When the day comes there are enough popular streamers and personalities on YouTube to go around, they're going to be pushed away like the trash they are. The only people who read them are stupid progtard faggots who don't play games and gamers to mock the shit out of them.

Also if this cunt can't handle getting teabagged in a game, she should just lock herself in her house because this stupid bitch can't handle reality.

most versions of it are pre-GamerGate/2014, but it's a popular image and gets updated organically by every guy with an opinion. This is the latest version I have, feel free to meme your own additions to it:

I wouldn't be surprised if they started banning and trying to arrest people for teabagging in games in the future.
Blizzard has already has issued bans for people using the emotes and voice lines in Overwatch in an offensive way. Ironic, since they added that shit to the game as "content" to stuff their lootboxes, and they're already limited to where there's a timer on them to prevent spam.

Perhaps pissing off sjw journalists is a tactic employed by indie devs to get attention.
it's starting to look that way overall, though in this instance the game/dev in question is getting to fly under the radar. Who's jewing who now, game journos???
