They've made it so a huge portion of their contributors and thus pay pigs have now fled the site in supposed "disgust" at Mike's attitude. Mike now reveals they fired a predatory man who managed to worm his way into all the hearts of many of these very same contributors, apparently preserving many of his relationships with him in order to at least let him save face.

Perfectly timed, perfectly well executed to do the maximum damage. Which seems very much like Michaud. He can't create, only destroy.

Only he and the Walkers will likely suffer the most from this, as not only can they be accused of still having kept him on for some time, but also for doing this move which wil make e.g. the Linkara spergs go on a full out internet flame war against them, because they indirectly accused Linkara and co to know about it in some way.
the Nostalgia Critic is going o die as a property within this year.

They have just lost a sponsor for Nostalgia Critic, and the incompetence of Mike Michaud, the CEO, is being laid bare, which means a man with no skills is about to get his life fucked over. It's very bad PR for them.

They've also managed to lose almost 30 contributors since this mess started, meaning they've lost around 160 contributors total.

No, Mike Michaud is apparently the majority shareholder of Channel Awesome and owns the rights.

And it's possible that Doug could have a non compete signed with CA, since he's likely under contract. They did the same to their pr person.

And aside from the short lived comic show and Pop Quiz Hotshot, they don't build sets. And those sets were anything but impressive too. The studio is a massive goddamn waste of space. It's the same as burning money.

Nope, as others mentioned, Michaud's got the Nostalgia Critc IP. And even if he could, fuck if anyone wants to be near him- Brad, and possibly Joe and Sage, would want to leave out of shame; Malcolm and Tamara, assuming they're not still out of the loop, may want out of their contracts; fuck if D-Toons or MasakoX know (or care) about the shit going down; Larry's just there for the ride, and if the doc is believed, he and Rob have some bad blood going on.

And Michaud would likely throw him under the bus if the whole "JewWario groomed his fans" thing is true just to save his own ass. But anything's still possible at this point.

Doug for all intents and purposes are able to get himself out by claiming ignorance/stupidity or naivety as I can't even think of a situation right now where he has been right in the middle of it causing the harm, he has usually just been silent and present.

We don't know how much of the company or the Nostalgia Critic character Michaud owns. I think if the Walkers had the power to remove him they would have done so years ago. Also, in the audio clip (I forget the link, someone feel free to link it again) Doug acknowledges Michaud as his boss.

At this juncture, I think it's pretty safe to say that a carefully worded and sympathetic letter to the public would have cooled things down significantly. "Never acknowledge or apologize" is a good maneuver generally speaking to avoid getting drawn into an elongated drama in the press, but I don't think it really works in this situation when former employees are actively galvanizing your audience and attempting to get people within your company to jump ship. You need to bring some charisma and sympathy to your side to retain and restore the faith of your core audience.
