Speaking of which, what was the official cause of his suicide, if there was any?

I believe it was "mental health issues" was the line given, but as others are saying major money issues seemed a likely cause as well (his views tanked when he left TWTG).

He locked himself in the bathroom with the family's pistol for home defence and had his wife and I think someone else on the other side of the door trying to talk to him before he climbed in the tub and offed himself.

Doug as Nostalgia Critic made appearances on 'Battle Geek Plus' last week and a day ago. He only appears briefly at the beginning of each video (for 1 Min 40 Sec in the 1st, 40 Sec in the 2nd) with the guy Ryan making a Channel Awesome & Doug plug at the end and a Doug outtake plays over the credits. It's the old 'Nostalgia Critic is making me review something he sent' set-up AKA the lazy crossover. Here's some interesting lines from the videos:

I'm not sure. Up to this point this has been a pretty clear "abuser vs. victims" narrative on most platforms and people have been ignoring the dirt that doesn't point into the direction of Michaud or the Walkers so far. Would be interesting though, the whole #ChangeTheChannel campaign has been pretty self-indulgent and seeing it turn around on them would turn this into the ultimate shit show. I mean it already kinda did when Lupa and Phelous got dropped by their MCN, I guess because no matter how mean Mike Michaud was to them, from a professional standpoint all this mud slinging just isn't a good look.

Not really all that surprising about Jew Wario, there have been rumors he was a bit of a creep for a while.

I didn't think the rumor was that known. I had a few former friends come out and say they knew a girl he took advantage of at a con. They never provided any info on the victim, details of the incident, and claimed it was all covered up by Ren.(Oancitizen's buddy)

Due to the lack of evidence and very clear jealousy they had for TGWTG's success at the time, I thought it was just lies. Now we can't be sure of anything with Michaud's new blunder.

To be fair, depending on how old the girl was when she & the groomer began communicating...18 is the age of consent. Yes, 'mentally she was 16', and yes, our brains aren't fully developed until we're 25, but...if she was 18, I don't know if it can be called 'grooming'. To be clear, I am not victim blaming. It's sexual/emotional manipulation. But I don't know if you can legally refer to it as 'grooming'...or if grooming is even a legal term.

I wish I could remember all the details but a few years ago there was a shit posters commentary track on the flaming shit storm that was To Boldly Flee. At some point in the commentary track they started talking about Jewario's suicide and one of his superfans. Mostly pointing out how weird it was that this girl had a online collection started for her to attend the funeral and being able to give a speech at the funeral.

These shit posters went on to speculate that the reason he killed himself was too many mistakes came to light on one really fucked up day. Their assumption was that Jewario and his wife got into an ugly fight inspired by financial issues. At some point the need to be right gave way for the need to hurt each other and what more hurtful than I fucked an 18 year old fan. The fight escalates to the point that his wife walks away screaming, Jewario realizes that he may have fucked up beyond repair, and kills himself.

I wish my alcohol sponge that passes for a brain could remember where I saw this. All I can remember is that they weren't CA contributors, it was on Youtube, and it was a commentary track for Boldly Flee maybe Suburban Knights.

I think contextually in this case, grooming (legalistic term or not), refers simply to "dirtbag with some status using it to inflict himself sexually on a vulnerable person".

I doubt he has control of her accounts, but he does have control of her job. Most of these accusations come from before her time, and since she's part of the Chicago crew, she probably hasn't run into any of the issues others have cited. She could very well just see this as a bunch of bitter ex-associates trying to ruin her dream job. I do find it hard to believe that all the core Chicago people were on board to release that joke of a retaliation. I also find it telling that they didn't address any of the allegations regarding Pop Quiz Hotshot.
