What a wild week it has been. I made the following quoted post early Saturday morning to recap the major developments from the preceding days, such as Floraverse being removed from Hiveworks/Hivemill and ESC-Toy suspending sales of Floraverse merchandise. In the days since then, Melanie has continued to silently delete and lock down various accounts and more and more of her friends have publicly severed ties.

A recap of what has been happening since the logs were released.

On Wednesday, chat logs from 2012 were released where Melanie's husband Marl was seen grooming a 15-16 y.o. girl and talking about filming bestiality, attempting to have the girl have sex with his dog, giving her Bad Dragon sex toys in exchange for letting him watch her use them, and a bunch of other damning, disgusting things. The girl had met Marl by inquiring about Melanie's buttons and she visited them in person on at least one occasion and she saw Melanie "all naked" when she arrived.

After these logs began to spread, Melanie went silent on social media while Alex (eevee) pretended nothing had happened before he too went dark.

On Thursday, a moderator of the Floraverse Discord server was shown the chat logs and asked Marl about them, he copy-pasted Marl's response in which Marl admitted they were real and said he was sorry for causing any harm from his behavior and communications with the girl. Not quite realizing what he had done by confirming the logs were real, the moderator began trying to run damage control, eventually banning the person who inquired about them and memory holing the logs. Scrutiny was placed on the moderator and he nuked all his social media. Various people who idolized, were inspired by, or just enjoyed Melanie's Floraverse began to express their distraught outrage, especially those with young relatives who were into Floraverse.

The silence from Melanie spoke volumes, but she did tweet out the update for her porn comic as well as updated the Patreon while still remaining quiet on her glitchedpuppet main account for hours. She and Alex were also briefly active in the Floraverse Discord, although both were set to Do Not Disturb status. People had been unfollowing her on Twitter, cancelling Patreon support, and fleeing from the Floraverse Discord.

Melanie seems to have made her first sort of public statement in the early hours of Friday morning, posting around 20 tweets on her locked Twitter account, to which people replied and provided some context to what she had said. Melanie's long-time supporter Opa-Opa was seen engaging in Twitter conversations and trying to defend Marl/Melanie while attempting to understand the situation.

Before noon Melanie began renaming her locked account (formerly vassalbeleth) and would continue to rename it while also purging the followers that had access to it. Around the same time frame, the forbiddenflora and glitchedpuppet account was locked and maybe 30 minutes later Melanie issued a more-public-but-still-kinda-not statement on the now-locked gltichedpuppet account, accusing the victims of being liars, claiming everything negative about her is "lies and bullshit," and claiming that she was going to "stop posting online" and would not be looking at replies to the glitchedpuppet account.

At least one person was randomly kicked from the Floraverse Discord, which must have been in chaos. While some Stans were convinced to actually look at the logs and took back their knee-jerk white knighting of Melanie, others began blaming "nazis," because of course they would. By the evening, this thread was surpassing other drama and had the most traffic on this site. Various descriptions of encounters with Melanie and her creeps continued to come to light.

The Floraverse Discord now featured a pinned message saying Melanie was "taking a break," and comments on the Floraverse site were nuked. At some point commenting was completely disabled on both the Forbidden Flora and Floraverse sites. The moderator who unwittingly verified the logs ended up apologizing for his earlier behavior and quit the Discord and said he was leaving the Floraverse community. At some point, the Floraverse Facebook page was deleted.

ESC Toys, the company that was producing Floraverse dolls including the Kickstarter'd vinyl campaign figures, replied in an email about the situation and said they were "looking into the matter very seriously" and suspended all sales of Floraverse merchandise. The Discord chat at this point was enraged and openly talking about this thread, with one plotting to dox the victim. Alex 'liked' some tweets from a Stan at some point, while he himself stayed silent.

At some point in the evening Floraverse was removed from Hiveworks' site and the Hivemill store took down the Floraverse shirt page.

Saturday featured the much anticipated response from Alex (eevee), although it was not the multi-page document people were expecting but instead just four tweets. Alex claimed, with no evidence offered or provided, that he believes the logs were "edited." Interestingly, he doesn't deny that Marl and the victim communicated, just that the logs are supposedly "edited." He goes on to say that "everything is cancelled" and Melanie just wants to "disappear," and Alex says that he is going to stand by his "weird little family" of dogfuckers and pedophiles. He ended by declaring that he was logging out and anyone "lying" about his "family" would see him in hell.

Saturday saw more people severing ties with Melanie, including Stans, a Floraverse Discord mod, and even one of Melanie's oldest real life friends she had known since art school.

The Floraverse Discord server was shut down sometime between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The Floraverse Twitter was locked as well as the ForbiddenFlora Twitter.

Chat log excerpts from a group which has been discussing Melanie/Alex/Marl for years were released. This group had many sources who had had encounters with Melanie/Marl/Alex, according to them Marl was indeed into bestiality and was intent on making a website for dog porn, it is also said that he was sending a dog fucking video to multiple people. In the second batch, it is said Marl was the one who had filmed the bestiality video he was sending to people. In another batch they say that Alex (eevee) is also into pedophilia/grooming kids and had bragged about it when someone met up with him, Melanie, and Marl in real life.​

More of Melanie's friends disavowed her and walked away early on Sunday morning. Somebody began manually removing followers from the Floraverse Twitter account throughout the day until there were none, the Floraverse Tumblr and ForbiddenFlora Tumblr were password protected, everything was deleted on Melanie's glitchedpuppet Tumblr, Melanie deactivated her DeviantArt account, Melanie officially missed scheduled updates for her comic, and she even logged in to an old Facebook account to delete/hide info after it had been discussed here.

While Melanie did nuke all of these various Floraverse and other accounts and Alex said everything was "cancelled," the Patreons were left up, because of course.

On Monday, another one of Melanie's artist friends made a statement disavowing her. Yet another artist friend had to take a hiatus after blocking people and struggling to understand how Melanie could be so awful and was too stressed out to deal with Twitter/Tumblr.

Melanie was not responding to customers who had purchased items and were now anxiously inquiring about what would happen to their product/money. Melanie's lovelypuppetry Twitter was found to have had it's followers purged, just like they had done to the Floraverse Twitter. Melanie's Beleth's Toybox Tumblr was found to be password protected.

On Tuesday, Melanie changed her Patreon settings so that it no longer displayed how much money she was getting. Melanie's art school friend made some more remarks, stating she would never willingly be friends with or associate with anyone so "deplorable and evil" as to harm children and said she felt "sick and betrayed" and did not want any further association with Melanie.​

Bulbapedia, a Pokémon wiki, purged all links to, references of, and their article for Alex's "veekun" website. Someone made an anonymous confession that they knew for a fact Alex had child porn because when they were 15 they had been on an IRC chat and were "encouraged" to send nudes to Alex, who was in his early twenties at the time. (why did Alex infamously defend owning child porn? "because they /did/").

A former roommate of Melanie/Alex/Marl gave a statement on Thursday, saying their actions were "despicable." When asked what made him believe these logs were genuine, he said it was Melanie's response of shutting everything down and the writing style in the logs matching up with Marl's. He also mentioned a few things that in retrospect seem off, such as him not being allowed to have visitors and Marl's dog not being fixed.

Opa-Opa also made a statement saying he had been waiting for proof and nobody provided any so he had cut off all forms of support for Melanie and says he has been having anxiety attacks.​

I chose the worst of times to take a break from the farms it appears. After catching up with all of this, I must say that I am absolutely disgusted about what dirt came out about PK, but at the same time I am not horribly surprised, given the tones the comic kept hitting and the various other rumors floating around about her before all of this.

I am very glad to see Flora go down like this and can only hope that PK and her little clan get what they deserve in the end. Just having her franchise crash and burn is not enough in my opinion. They need to see the justice system in some form or fashion.

Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug. They were able to make excuses and ignore bad behavior because they were convinced that it was all a big lie. Glip created an echo chamber shell of a community that only allowed approved groupthink and purged any dissenting opinions, real or imagined. It's an environment of intense paranoia and scrutiny that creates a strong us vs. them mentality. That sort of setting allows otherwise reasonable people to be deceived and also deceive themselves. It enabled people like Opa and Gapow to unwittingly support a group of child sexual predators.
