Unfortunately Lucas thinks the housing he's in now will always be available to him. He's lucky he's in Washington. In many states he would be back on the street. He makes no effort to improve his situation, thinking welfare and transitional residency is all he needs. People who keep cycling between in-patient and monitored out-patient eventually lose their priority to people who have a better chance of using the opportunity to improve themselves.

That's Lucas A game pick up lines, not the holy shit I'm about to orgasm can't think straight and just mumble out something trying to sound sexy.

He's not good with money, with how much he wastes he could slowly piece a life together but well we know that won't happen if he was just some dude who was nuts or had a break down and had to start life over they wouldn't have a thread.

The money Lucas gets is to get the ball rolling on life, get a few button downs a hair cut, plates, save up for first last on a pad. But Lucas buys pre cut veggies and eats out. He's been out of the loop of normal life for so long he really has no idea because he got a food stamp card he thinks he's the king of the walk. Big fish in small pond syndrome for sure.

The problem is he's not seen normal life so he doesn't know there's an ocean out there. If you are reading this, in the global scale you are rich, for standards of your own area/nation etc some posters are well off others not, but it doesn't effect your character. When Lucas sees the "ocean" he gets mad and retreats back into there's this insane gap of wealth where normal people are worse off than Lucas and theirs this hyper elite rich people, when really he's talking about what we'd call lower middle class in normal world.

I've seen him post pictures of them together and I think there are some screen shots of her leaving comments on his Facebook. I'm just as surprised as you are.

"Functioning" relationship? No. Relationship? Yes.

Even by his own account, he was in a relationship with a woman old enough to be his mother (who, reading between the lines, was also mentally ill but at least more functional than him), and she broke up with him because he acted psychotic and violent. The details of the relationship actually make it plausible, and given how delusional and guileless Lucas is, I strongly doubt he's capable of fabricating a story that's actually plausible. Not to mention the details actually make him look worse than he would if he had never been in a relationship ever. If he was bullshitting, he'd try to make himself look good.

Additionally, his whole shtick is whining about his inability to get laid. Lucas possesses many, many odious qualities, but he hasn't shown himself to be deliberately dishonest (some might counter this with all his telomere nonsense, but he has consistently seemed to genuinely believe in what he's spouting).

The Olympia people who knew him made it sound like she took him in as a charity case to get him off the street and help him get it together. He is pretty consistent though in his claims of how many years it's been since he's had sex. But many of his early comments make it sound like he had quite a drought before that. Maybe only two partners in his life.

That is always how I felt for it. A lot of people who have been on hard times are incredibly charitable and welcoming. She was alone and older just had enough to eek by. Lucas was just needy and well as we've seen a chronic user of everyone. He knew he could tap it so he did.

She tried to help him get his life rolling, Lucas used her to get free stuff and get his rocks off. She got sick of his shit and gave him the boot. In ways it's really sad you were so lonely in your life it's no longer helping someone you grow attached to them, when they are Lucas.

That must have been a bizarre relationship. Kind of another indicator that all this stuff is rooted in the feeling he missed out in how a "normal" life is supposed to go.

E: With his mental state you also always have to consider that he probably never cooperated with the healthcare specialists in any way. He seems very treatment-resistant. I have still my doubts he takes his medication or takes it properly.

Even assuming Lucas walks the walk and gives great sex as he claims to, he keeps conveniently avoiding the fact that most of those younger guys he loses out to have their lives in order. This means having an actual job or studying in college instead of proudly living on the dole. He tries to mask laziness with false claims of science. This isn't even getting into the insane ramblings, the MRSA, and the creepy stares. What decent woman, especially a young one who's very active with her life, would want to just eat and have sex daily while spending a lot of time in a public library for free internet because they can't afford a lot of things? That's boring, to be honest. I'm thinking deep inside, there's a part of him that knows this, but insists on doubling-down on the wonky science because he's lazy and thinks he's entitled to a life of food and sex simply for existing.

Dude doesn't have any hobbies at all, it seems. It's just creeping on young girls and food when he goes out.

That is what I figured but at same time, in a more lucid state I could see some small or local publisher grabbing him, and this was in an era before you could self publish with such ease.

I wish I could find the screenshot but I'm on mobile and he blocked me.. He loves to use "I cleaned [Suzanne's] house for her" as a selling point for being a house husband, yet posted on Facebook notes she left reminding him to clean up his disgusting kitchen mess from his cooking escapades. Can't blame her for dumping an unemployed, slovenly leech. It did seem to jump start his hatred of older women though.
