Tons of people have given mods information to verify their identities in these types of situations and I can't remember them ever breaching that trust. They simply give you a title under your username and usually make a post saying they received verification privately.

What's interesting to me is how he accused dhume of being in the speedrunning community. He accused me of that too. Now, I know that because I talked about speedrunning and dhume probably knew cosmo from the speedrunning community, that it would be perfectly fine to suspect us of being in the speedrunning community. But that's not exactly the message I'm getting from cosmo's tone when he says that. "This guy's probably from the speedrunning community", it sounds like an accusation more than an observation.

I think Cosmo is kinda butthurt because he isn't as big name as he used to be, not to mention nobody really runs his snowflake category of BotW. Among other things. So it's the typical "they aren't patting my ass = they're against me" mentality

I don't think Cosmo vs Kiwifarms will produce anything really satisfactory on either end. I've never been a fan of the "coming out of nowhere saying I know this person and I can tell you he is a piece of shit but I'm not going to go any further in depth" kinda stuff. I prefer to just observe and comment on what they've done to themselves, not a direct result of Kiwifarms antagonizing to get content. I followed Cosmo since 2012 and the speedrunning days were genuinely fun to follow. At first this was kinda strange and fascinating to follow this weird spiral, but now its just a little depressing. I just watch ZFG now and have moved away from Cosmo related content. WingsofRedemption or DSP is more my style of streaming cringe.

Man, I never thought reading through (currently) 85 pages of someone's mental health decaying would be so depressing.
To give some context I stopped following Cosmo weeks before getting that OoT 18:10. For no real reason really, I was just getting bored of OoT. Like for many Cosmo was my very first introduction to Speedrunning. That whole space is where I spend 90% of my time online now.
(I don't speedrun myself, I just hang around in runner's discords and stuff.)

I was completely oblivious to what happened to him over the past 3 years and reading through all of it is really bizarre. All I knew is that at some point he decided going trans and since I just thought "ok, w/e, good luck" and that was that. But man what the fuck happened. This is painful. It blows my mind how far Cos fell.
But I guess what motivated me to write this is that Cosmo pretty much ruined any chance of any trans people picking up speedrunning because they'll always be associated with this nutjob. Cosmo could've been a great example for how to be a fucking normal human being while being trans, something so simply, and he goofed it. It makes me a bit angry that he probably takes a good chunk of pleasure from knowing he ruined that chance for a few people who seriously wanted to give it a try.

I'm very much an outsider looking into this but there's absolutely no way he can go on for much longer without completely and utterly breaking down and being able to pay bills, even with all these beta orbiters donating the few bits they got from watching a billion ads.

Did you watch this year's AGDQ? It showed that the most popular and well established event in speedrunning will outright cater to troons. It isn't sustainable as others have pointed out and there was massive backlash, but I wouldn't been surprised if there isn't an increase in troons who will try to use to get attention since they know dissenters will be silenced. They might not succeed if they weren't part of the in clique before trooning out, but it won't stop them from trying. I have zero social media presence, don't watch speedrunning, and wasn't on the farms at the time, yet even I heard about the drama surrounding trannies and AGDQ the day it happened. No way they'll pass up that kind of power and attention. A lot of them get off on the idea of people being forced to acknowledge their fetish as a legitimate identity and events like AGDQ let them flex that.

Also, being a trans is no longer looked down at all, case and point is "Ricky Ortiz", and FGC community is one of the most troll and harsh communities in gaming and he got along fine

Cosmo is a picture book example of medication setting free mental illnesses that were pre-existing, waiting to be "awakened" so to speak. Taking hormones themselves doesn't cause that kind of stuff, but it can certainly set it free.
Didn't Cosmo have a history of doing weird shit like streaming with no audio just running around in OoT pretransing and generally sperging out?

There undoubtedly is. How much is backlash because of how things were handled and how much is it that the community hating trannies? I don't know, but I'm sure pissing off twitch chat stirred up a shitstorm that otherwise wouldn't have existed.

Yeah. I don't think most people watching hated these shemales (initially at least). They probably thought "wow, that's fucking weird" but paid it no mind until AGDQ started interfering in chat and putting it in sub-only mode and shit like that iirc.

That kind of thing is bound to piss people off, and it's only natural in a way that some people would blame those same trannies as a result (and let's be real, it's their fault). I think it was simple cause and effect, not some underlying hatred for trans people right out of the gate.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm sure some people hold that opinion, but I think that massive response was because people are tired of this PC culture/"you can't hurt anyone's feelings" faggotry.
