Title says it all: what video games do wish existed in real life?

We've all had our own ideas about how a game could have been better or what an awesome sequel would look like, so come share your ideas with us here. It's not like it's ever going to happen after all...

I'll start with a couple of my own.

Warhammer 40K meets Mass Effect: You play as an inquisitor or part of an inquisitorial retinue out to save the Imperium from Chaos/Orks/Whatever. I just want the opportunity to enjoy all that Gothic architecture and grimdark goodness from the ground level as I hop from world to world.
Includes all the good things you'd expect from a Mass Effect-type game: detailed character creation, lots of armour and weapons, with cosmetic items too because why not? Well-written, branching stories with plenty of memorable characters and events.

There have been plenty of good Warhammer games, and more than a few bad ones, but seeing a game like this appear in their library would be a dream come true.

Fallout: I'd love to see a return to the old Fallout games' isometric viewpoint. I think growing up in the 90s gave me a love for isometric games like The Sims and Fallout, so more of that would be great. My idea for a fallout game would be set in Florida which was half-wasteland and half-nuclear jungle. The player would be able to choose from one of three initial starting location: vault-dweller, wastelander, or tribal, each with their own starting goal, skills, and equipment. More starting locations can be unlocked by completing certain tasks within the game. It'll feature all the Fallout staples like super mutants, 50s camp, BoS, as well as plenty of new factions you can join.

So what do you think? Let's hear your ideas and revel in our loves of games that'll almost certainly never exist.

Have you played wasteland 2 yet?

It's a dark and gritty third person shooter starring Yosemite Sam.

Yosemite Sam finally succeeds in killing Bugs Bunny but the guilt causes PTSD which leads to a crippling heroin addiction. His drug debts pile up until the Russian mafia murders his wife and kids. The first part of the game is him grabbing his revolvers and hunting down the people that killed his family, probably with a bullet time feature. One of the unique things about the game is that you have to manage Yosemite Sam’s heroin addiction, if he goes to long without a hit he suffers drug sickness which reduces his combat abilities and eventually leads to death. There's even a minigame where Yosemite Sam has to cook the heroin, find a vein, and inject it.

After Yosemite Sam kills the entire Russian mafia he stumbles upon a conspiracy involving the US government, leading all the way up the President. His mission is clear. Yosemite Sam must overthrow the US government and assassinate the tyrannical president Donald Duck.

Saints Row: Back to the Hood - Going all the way back to good ol Stilwater, you'd play as a nameless grunt while the boss is away in Steelport. But you have ambitions, you're gonna make a name for yourself.
- Saints Row 2 levels of customization returns and goes even beyond. Make your character as beautiful or as horrendous as possible. Customize your threads, accessories, hell even your grill to almost obscene levels.
- Return to snarky yet serious storylines. You are a gangster, not a fucking cartoon. There can be levity, but not to the levels of stupidity as Saints Row 3 and 4 did.
- As you grow in rank and importance, you can begin to actual grow your empire. Manage randomly generated lieutenants to help expand your empire, hold down key points, etc.

--------

And if that's all too complicated, then at least a new Katamari Damacy or at least a befitting successor. Still baffles me how it's been this long, and with the technology we have now, we haven't gotten a new one of these.

A game that is a mix between spore and minecraft thats basically an endless sandbox where you can fully customize your world, avatar etc or you can live in survival mode and also you can build cities or make your own planet and it has like a million assets to use and a lot of gameplay freedom with multiplayer optional.

The graphics need to be really good and the physics realistic tho

Yeah i know it sounds dumb i just dont play video games in general but i like the idea of virtual worlds you can just dick around in and do whatever you feel like

A rogue-like (of Cataclysm DDA variety) but in a city with fully simulated infrastructure, transportation and work-life cycle for NPCs. I want to blow up infrastructure and watch the simulated city have to adapt and rebuild, an unintentional terrorism simulator, now that I think about.

Bloodborne has possibly the best aesthetic I've ever seen with the monsters/environments. I want a turn based RPG with a hard horror/Lovecraft vibe. The first Shadow Hearts game as probably the closest we ever got.

  • A remake or remaster of Emperor: Battle for Dune with all of the game's shortcomings removed and mod support(Butlerian Jihad mod, anyone?)
  • Freedom Fighters 2, the first game ended on a cliffhanger. I want to see what happens next.
  • Diablo 1 Remastered: "Eat your vegetables and brush after every meal." -Diablo
  • A Starcraft FPS game where you play as a marine squad commander(can command them in game) with similar multiplayer as C&C Renegade and RPG elements for single player. Oh, and bring in Joris De Man and Sarah Schachner to compose the score.
  • Rainbow Six: Patriots... yeah.
  • A fallout game that plays like 3/NV and is set in detroit where you can venture into a bit of Canada

The original idea for fallout tactics 2 was for the game to take place in Florida where an irradiated GECK has gone off created corrupted mutant life in a huge rainforest like place.
