There's an old guy with a steam train as his cover picture on facebook who added me and I have no idea who he is. I only accepted his friend request when I was half asleep because I saw the word "museum" on it but I might keep it for a while before I unfriend him to see if he does anything /r/oldpeoplefacebook tier or something.

He's started messaging me in badly spelt sentences and I made a sarcastic joke that flew completely over his head. This man may genuinely be more dense than a collapsed star.

The best is when you tell them you don't carry cash and they whip out a shady looking card reader attached to their phone.

I actually stopped patronizing my nearby grocery store because they have at least one group or charity out there every weekend soliciting money for something. I hate the shit. Last weekend it was some unwashed kid who came up to me as I was leaving and asking in the most generic pitch I've ever heard "Would you like to donate money to support my school?" I just ignored him.

This is why I tend to be a bit selective with who I may accept requests to online. Some people aren't really qualified to use social networks at all.

Living in a cashless society seems to have forced this on ourselves.

I get that all the time. I suppose it's just routine at this point.

A few months back I mentioned the bald spot in the back on my head. Today I decided to look back there again, it wasn't pretty, but people here have encouraged me at least.

I just tell them to fuck off that does wonders

I always forget when I must do work in the US, that at restaurants and bars in the states, places do not have the handheld readers to run credit cards. It always weirds me out to give my credit card to the server and then I hope they run the card correctly and not screw me.

Almost everywhere else in the 1st world gives you the reader to run the card yourself.

I think we Americans are more used to having someone else do the swiping for us (though we don't use those machines anymore, I remember when I first got my credit card and got receipts that way before the new digital systems came in).

Sometimes, I wonder why I picked this forum to hang around. I'm only... maybe half-interested in the idiosyncratic people who are examined on this forum, but there's something else that allures me to stay which I can't quite place.

It doesn't too much matter, though. I figure that as long as I enjoy myself, there is no good reason that I shouldn't be here.

There's that. I sometimes wonder why I came here in the first place, but it was because of one person anyway and I simply ended up learning more.

I was looking at my old neighborhood on Google maps. It is so filthy and ghetto that it's depressing.

I mean it was bad when I lived there. But it's even worse now. More shuttered stores. Braid salons somehow co-existing three and four in a row. I don't see how they stay in business like that. Most of them have to be fronts. There should be some kind of limit as to how many of a certain shop you can have within a certain radius.

The trash is horrible. It's just everywhere. The saddest thing though is the shuttered supermarket. It's supposed to get knocked down and a new shopping center will take its place. But as of now the area is just yet another food desert. Whatever they put there will just get robbed blind anyway.

A lot of the stores that opened a few years ago are shuttered. It's pretty much wall to wall check cashing, braid and nail salons and dollar stores. A true mark of how ghetto an area really is.

In short, the old 'hood is uglier, trashier, more ghetto and with even more blight and burned out buildings and shuttered stores. Makes me want to cry.:(

I don't have to use Google to know my neighborhood, though 30-40 years ago, it was quite different to say the least. There used to be a lot more stores close to my house, like several supermarkets (one just across the street), number of fast food restaurants within a mile radius and all that, today it's practically vacant or replaced by gyms and other small plaza offerings (tattoo shops never go out of style). There's still a few places I go to anyway but it doesn't feel like it did as a kid (except Dairy Queen, that place never seems to want to leave).

Things I did not need to find out today:
One, There is Andy Griffith Show Yaoi art featuring Andy putting his gun in Barney
Two J.K. Rowling has Coprophiliac tendencies as she says that Wizard and Witches shit themselves instead of using toilets (Which makes one wonder what the toilets are like in Hogwarts.
Three: J.K. Rowling has Hebophile tendencies by saying Hogwarts as Group Masturbation sessions (With Hufflepuff throwing them the most)
So yeah I'm going to go clean myself with bleach

I'm watching people on Facebook wishing that a pre-k teacher loses her job because she didn't help a kid who wasn't potty trained wipe himself. And she has him clean up the shit he smeared on the wall.

They're really mad about a teacher not cleaning a kids ass.
