Same thing to that effect happened when Josh uploaded his video a year and a half ago.

I don't think it's bad because Jerry's getting support from his fans when someone publicly berated him, I think it's bad because everyone is enabling him, and Jerry's not gonna learn from this at all. It'll pretty much be full circle.

It's kinda like when he criticizes characters in MLP (or anything else) for not learning anything after something substantial had happened. I know consistency isn't in Jerry's vocabulary, but come on.

Every time Jerry gets some sort of legal letter or takedown or whatever his first instinct is to immediately tries to compare it to the Digital Homicide/Jim Sterling scandal.

...You know, the one that set a precedent in court and had long lasting effects on both the community and the people involved? The one that got Digital Homicide blacklisted from steam and Jim hailed as a hero of free expression?

Yeah. That one.

Remember when the animechristy artist DMCA happened? Jerry's response was to all out reference the DH scandal in both the youtube title and script and music. For a scandal everyone forgot about two weeks later.

Josh sends what is basically a "leave me alone" letter with slightly more aggressive legalese and its now suddenly on par with DMCA'ing a video, cutting source of funding in the process and also landing a creator with a strike and then trying to sue said creator for several million dollars for hurt feelings. Don't forget that Josh is a spineless cuck so this won't even amount to anything. Chris has made more intimidating demands.

I find it hard to take Jerry's moaning about how his detractors only want to start "fake controversies" about him seriously when he then hypes up everything as this career and character defining "Jim sterling 2.0" moment which will never actually come.

its not even that this guy is spineless (i guess, who the fuck is this guy) is the reason nothing will happen, its that online legal threats are almost never carried out iirc.
 
As fun as the idea of Jerry paying a fine is, I’m gonna be a pessimist for a second.

Like most internet legal battles, this will likely go nowhere. On top of that, Jerry and Josh live in different countries, so that complicates things. Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t libel/slander cases usually difficult because it’s often hard to prove someone’s malicious intent (not that I think that hurts Josh’s case, Jerry’s hate boner and false accusations are well documented.)

Josh has a solid case to stand on, only time will tell if anything comes of this. Even if he wins he loses. Jerry will just keep whining to his fans at it’ll only make Josh look worse to them as ‘the alt-right bully who couldn’t fight his own battles so he cried to the courts to silence our queen.’

Nothing short of directly nuking tumblrs servers can make the things they say disapear from the internet. and even then, this is why archiving sites exist.

...So why is he denying everything? Maybe he's gonna give an explanation of the Nuance™ of saying Josh is an alt-right potential rapist, or his faith in Josh is so low that he doesn't believe he's gonna go anywhere with this.

Something a friend noted in discussion of the C&D itself is that while most civil Cease and Desists (like Josh's) usually give 14-20 days to comply, Josh went for a somewhat stricter 10 day to comply. Usually, that time frame is used for business C&Ds (albeit, the higher end, with the range being 3-10).

Josh probably has made up his mind if this how short his time to comply is.
